While the British teen market singlehandedly keeps Neighbours on the map long after many of its homegrown viewers abandoned the Aussie soap, it seems that this trade in entertainment culture is not all one-way.
The Independent reports that British music – by which, inevitably, I mean pop and sort-of rock – is doing so well Down Under that the British Phonographic Industry is organising a trade mission to those shores, banking on the fact that the 22% of the Australian music currently belonging to UK artists can be exploited and increased. (Read more here...)
Adele is one of the British artists to enjoy equal success in Australia
So why is British music doing so well in this far-off land? As of recent times, a lot of credit must go to those two pop bookends Adele and One Direction, with Adele’s 21 album going 13-times platinum in Australia, and the cherubic quintet stopping traffic...

Lady Gaga is not known for holding back, and she's pushed the etiquette envelope once again - with a new song dedicated to 'Princess Die'.
The American songstress debuted the bound-to-be controversial piano ballad on stage in Melbourne last night - Watch her in action in the clip above.
Lady Gaga made her presence known in Melbourne last night
Despite containing lyrics no doubt intended to shock, the new song wasn't the most memorable part of the night in the Rod Laver Arena in the city centre.
That must surely go to either a meat couch coming on stage, the Lady herself donning a machine gun bra - one of her 15 (Fifteen!) costume changes - or perhaps taking the strange decision to feed her female dancers into a sausage mincer.

The first trailer for The Odd Life Of Timothy Green had the unfortunate effect of painting what should be a heartstring-tugging tale of family and belonging as something like a horror movie, with a child birthed from the ground showing up at his prospective parents’ house in the middle of the night and a raging storm. This latest promo, which you can watch below, has some of that air about it, but taps more into the feel-good flavour that director Peter Hedges is intending. Video: 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green' movie trailerWith a story by Ahmet Zappa, Timothy Green finds childless, adorable-beyond-belief couple Jim and Cindy Green, played by Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton (who are both charming enough to sell that abundance of cuteness without verging into sickening territory) burying a box of wishes for their perfect child in the back garden. Cue the arrival of young...

Beyonce in her video for "Countdown"

Just as Beyoncé's "Countdown" music video hit the airwaves on Thursday night (October 6), MTV News took to the streets of Los Angeles to see what people thought about it. And judging by the reactions, B has pulled off another memorable performance.
The overall consensus was positive. Many people commented on the simplicity of the clip, and of course, her bumpin' belly. "I thought maybe having a baby bump would stop her from doing a lot of dance moves, but she was still moving around [and] still looking good," Justin Abello said.
"I thought it was beautiful," Amethyst Franklin said, referring to B's pregnant belly. "I think it's great that she's showing it off. I think she should be super-proud of it and she is, and that's awesome.

Remember when Harry first met Hermione at Hogwarts? What about when she cast her first spell? Oh, those were the days. Our little girl Emma Watson is all grown up now, with heaps of great roles headed her way. (We're particularly excited for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower.")
But Watson's no shrinking violet.
The actress can pull off a Vogue cover as easily an Ivy League education, and after 10 years in the "Harry Potter" spotlight, it doesn't seem like anything can throw her for a loop. Not even being approached by the guy who played a character based on Hermione in an award-winning gay porn spoof called "Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer's Balls." (Uh, we're sure you can Google that link yourself.)
That's how Cameron Adams, a.k.a. "Himmione Grainghim," met Watson at the MTV Movie Awards and took a photo with her. He was like, "Hey, so...

Archie Comics has announced that Kevin Keller is now going to have his own ongoing series beyond the four-issues mini currently hitting newsstands. In addition, he'll be written into Life With Archie, which follows the Riverdale gang as adults, and in which he'll be getting his own husband in 2012. As a final bit of hope for the world: for all the noise some folks made about introducing a gay character to the comic, Archie says they only had had seven subscription cancellations. And a ton of new ones.
Rumor has it that the Katy Perry-voiced Smurfette will have a line in the movie about "I smurfed a girl, and I liked it" which brings up all sorts of questions, like what precisely does "smurfed" mean here? What other girl – human, or is there a new female Smurf? And why would possibly the gayest cast of the year bring up...
