Renee Taglia
- Actress
Renee Taglia is a Chicago-trained actress who has dedicated herself to
this craft for over eight years. It all started during her career in
high school- she sampled a few acting classes and was hooked
immediately. The fall of 2000 approached and Renee eagerly began her
studies at Elmhurst College, a highly accredited four-year private
college located only 20 minutes away from downtown Chicago. As a
freshman, Renee quickly found herself in association with the theater.
Whether it was acting, costuming, or stage managing, Renee was
compelled to explore herself through this wonderful outlet. Not only
was Renee enriched by reading and performing some of the greats (i.e.
Shakespeare, Marlow, and Ibsen, to name a few), she also learned
immensely from contemporary playwrights. Numerous playwrights that
Renee felt were synonymous in their complex esoteric writing styles
include Lanford Wilson, Theresa Rebeck, and Sam Sheppard, to name only
a few.
Renee stays active not only in acting, but in her physical life as well. Her accomplishments and a long list of sports achievements (such as earning her green belt in Taekwondo) can be viewed on her resume page. Along with state qualifications in softball, track, horse back riding, and swimming.
Dovetailed with her B.A. in the Fine Arts Theatre her extensive Chicago training includes a four year intense Meisner technique, 2 years improve training at Improv Olympic, along with working with Chicago finest directors.
