Eighteen film and TV screenplays have been shortlisted for the inaugural Gateway La Script Development Program launched by Australians in Film (AiF).
The winner will get a cash prize to facilitate development of the script, a flight to Los Angeles, meetings with producers and executives and table reads.
AiF will announce the winner and runners-up, who will form an .Aussie List., determined by a panel of expert judges, and the value of the cash, in a month.
The projects were selected from more than 500 scripts submitted to the L.A.-based Australian entertainment industry guild. The program aims to provide Australians living and working in the Us with more opportunities for support and resources and to help Australian projects secure exposure to the best networks in the business.

Chrysler has unveiled a new ad to mark the launch of its new ‘timeless’ 300 model.
The ad, created by CumminsRoss with a 1960′s party theme, broke during the State of Origin final last night on Nine.
Online and outdoor will run in support of the TV work.
“The 300 was an American icon developed in the 50′s and remains iconic today. It’s American motoring at its best with class and style in abundance. Timeless, classic design that’s otherwise missing from the segment in this market,” said Sam Tabart, director of marketing for Fiat Chrysler Group Australia.
The Chrysler 300 is available in Australia from July 2012.

A new Tvc for motorcycle insurance company Swann Insurance uses motorbiking to draw a connection between freedom and insurance.
Playing on the adage ‘freedom of the open road’ the spot, created by CumminsRoss, sees over 30 different motorcyclists shot on location on stretches of road across Australia.
The ad was shot by SceneOn directors Matt Chuang and Andrew Coyle, with cameras mounted to different parts of the bikes and featuring bikies, motocross riders, vintage bikes and street bikes.
It’s the first spot CumminsRoss has done for Swann, a division of Cgu Insurance, which was one of the agency’s founding clients.
Sean Cummins, executive director of CumminsRoss, said: “We’re very happy with it . It really honours the whole essence of what insurance does for you and the connection between the bike and the rider. It’s an enabling piece for riders to enjoy their passion.”
