"I'm thrilled about this," says Alexander, after hearing Blood For Irina nabbed Best Experimental Feature Film award at the PollyGrind Underground Film Festival in Las Vegas and both Best Medium Length Film and Best Director for Medium Length Film at Buffalo Screams."I made this film early in the year, in five days between producing Fangoria. It's a very personal film and it’s a thrill to know people are responding to it."
The film will screen at both the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival in Bruges, Belgium on November 2nd and the Horrible Imaginings Film Festival in San Diego November 10. It sees Shauna Henry in a haunting performance as Irina, a dying vampire spending her last days in a rundown waterfront motel. Drifting around her, are the motel manager (David Goodfellow) and a downtrodden prostitute (Carrie Gemmell) whose plight may be even more desperate than Irina's. Written, directed, shot,...

Writer, journalist and Fangoria magazine editor Chris Alexander is cutting his teeth in the director's chair.
His feature film debut for Autonomy Pictures with Blood for Irina - a psychological, experimental vampire tale - is complete. Alexander approached Autonomy Pictures with a micro-budget proposal, the desire to make a personal horror film, a fever dream inspired by Herzog, Rollin and Franco.
The film was shot in five days at a crumbling 70 year old waterfront motel set for demolition in Toronto, Canada. Autonomy Pictures executive producers Derek Curl (House of the Devil), David Gregory (The Theatre Bizarre) and Lewis Tice of Danger After Dark, already impressed with Alexander’s revitalization of Fangoria since taking over as editor-in-chief, were excited to see what he would do with a genre-based underground concept, budget and schedule.
The film is currently in post-production and will hit film festivals later this year. You'll find a teaser trailer inside.

Adam Rehmeier's The Bunny Game gained notoriety last fall by being one of the recent victims of a BBFC ban. The film was refused certification by the board, who called it, "unacceptable to the public". While the film remains unreleasable in the UK, fledgling Us distributor Autonomy Pictures have decided to make this their first foray into the home video market. Autonomy Pictures is made up of three home video veterans with lots of experience in controversial films. Lewis Tice of Danger After Dark, David Gregory of Severin Films, and Derek Curl of Tla Releasing, have gotten into the home video game in an interesting way here, and I wish them the best. Here's some more info about The Bunny Game and Autonomy Pictures:Producer...

The guys from "Longhorns," which had its debut at the Castro Theater at Frameline took some time out following their screening Saturday afternoon in San Francisco. Described as a "crowd-pleaser" by an insider, the film is a gay-straight weekend away. Beer, rambunctiousness and a little porn to boot, it's not too difficult to figure out what might ensue... Pictured near the Castro, (L to R): H.P. Mendoza (producer/composer/editor), Lewis Tice (producer), David Lewis (director) and David Wang (executive producer).
