After The Traitors took the world by storm, high concept reality shows which aren’t about dating are hot property.
The Underdog: Josh Must Win is the latest bingeable reality show “with a twist” and it appears to be setting itself up as a series which pierces the image of the typical reality contestant in favour of elevating an average bloke called Josh, who is neither especially handsome, nor polished, nor confident and therefore is not what we have come to expect from such shows. It’s pitched as a nicer brand of reality show. But is it, really?
The set up is this: nine contestants think they are on a popularity contest called “The Favourite”, but secretly they are actually in a show called “Josh Must Win” and are being manipulated off screen by four “celebrities” – presenter Nick Grimshaw and former reality stars Vicky Pattison, Amber Gill and Pete Wicks...

Star broadcasters Rylan and Nick Grimshaw are among the first to react to the news that Ken Bruce is leaving his BBC Radio 2 show after 31 years.
Bruce said “the time is right” for him to move from the station, after presenting the mid-morning weekday show for more than three decades.
The 71-year-old, who is leaving in March, joined the corporation in 1977 as a BBC Radio Scotland presenter 45 years ago. His first regular slot on Radio 2 was The Saturday Late Show in 1984. The following year he fronted the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, taking over from Sir Terry Wogan.
Bruce said: “Nothing stays the same forever and I have decided the time is right for me to move on from Radio 2 when I reach the end of my current contract in March. It’s been a tremendously happy time for me: I’ve made many friends and worked with many wonderful colleagues.

Dish, the hit podcast hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, will be getting extra social for the festive season as the presenting duo escape the studio and cosy up at Grimmy’s own home, where some special guests have been invited round for Christmas food, drink and laughs.
In a series of episodes, Hugh Bonneville, Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, and Annie Mac will all settle down for a fireside chat, while Michelin star chef Angela Hartnett cooks and Grimshaw serves up the drinks. The hosts’ warm reception and sense of humour make Dish the most hospitable and social show on the planet.
Dish takes a pioneering approach to turning podcasts into a social event: it’s recorded like a podcast, shot for Instagram and edited for TikTok. As a result, it’s had 20 weeks at number one on Apple’s food podcast chart and is regularly in the top 20 Apple shows.

Landing a role in EastEnders was the thing that helped Martin Kemp recover “more than anything else”, the Spandau Ballet bassist has said.
The 61-year-old starred as villain Steve Owen in the popular BBC One soap between 1998 and 2002.
Appearing on the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Kemp said when he was offered the role, he was urged by friends not to accept it.
“Everybody around me was saying, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it. It’s going to ruin your career, don’t do it’,” he recalled. “Well because they hadn’t had any name actors in that show before, right?
“Everybody had grown up with EastEnders, so I was kind of the first one of those name actors to go in.”

I’m a Celeb viewers accuse ‘childish’ Boy George of ‘stirring’ drama with Matt Hancock over potatoes
I’m a Celeb viewers have accused “childish” Boy George of picking a fight with Matt Hancock.
On Monday night’s (14 November) episode of the hit ITV reality series, the singer was assigned cleaning duties by new camp leader Hancock and his deputy Charlene White.
The former health secretary – whose controversial arrival to the jungle left Boy George in tears – asked the musician whether the side of potatoes could be washed before they were cooked.
George became angry at the request and accused his fellow campmate of “kicking off”. Behind Hancock’s back, he said: “You f***ing clean them.”
Viewers, however, have defended Hancock and suggested that the “Karma Chameleon” singer overreacted and is “looking for a row”.
“Boy George is a joke. The suggestion of washing the potatoes was said perfectly politely and George starts stirring it: “Matt is kickin’ off…’” said one viewer.

Hancock asked: “Politics is like that. Did you know the end was coming? Did you leave happy or did you leave cross?”

Chris Moyles has revealed that the way his 2012 exit from the Radio 1 breakfast show was handled left him feeling “a bit cross”.
Moyles led the extremely popular BBC radio broadcast for almost nine years – longer than any other presenter before or since – totalling 15 years at the station.
He was succeeded by Nick Grimshaw who gave way to Greg James in 2018.

Matt Hancock, Boy George and Chris Moyles are among the famous faces entering the jungle for I’m a Celebrity this year... but how long will they last?
With many already speculating that Hancock will be voted to do most of the Bushtucker Trials, it begs the question: if the celebrities really can’t take it any more and they want to quit, then what happens?
Is it actually possible for celebrities to quit and still get paid?
It has been reported in the past that contestants must stay in the camp for at least 72 hours in order to receive full payment from ITV. But when Gemma Collins notoriously quit the show in 2017 after just three days of it being on air, she received a smaller fee than if she had stayed longer.
Following her exit from the show, the reality star said she was going to donate the £4,800 she made to Save the Children.

Kiosk Keith was just as much a staple on I’m a Celebrity as Ant and Dec, before he was allegedly fired from the show in 2017.
The Australian, whose real name is Raymond Grant, was the Outback Shack's one and only employee and he would greet celebrity campmates with silence and a stony stare after they completed a Dingo Dollar Challenge.
It was his job to take the contestants’ bag of dollars and ring the other stars back at camp, asking them a difficult question which, if they answered it correctly, earned them some treats from the Shack. If they got it wrong, however, he would slam down the shutters and the celebrities would be left with nothing.
Part-way through 2017’s series of I’m a Celebrity, Keith disappeared. At the time, Ant and Dec told fans he was unwell and he was temporarily replaced by a woman called Kiosk Kath.

Matt Hancock has arrived in Australia ahead of his appearance on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, but he’s not expected to be going in on day one with the initial batch of 10 stars.
The former health secretary will take part in the forthcoming series of the ITV reality show as a “bombshell” contestant, arriving once the show has already started and the original line-up of contestants have settled into jungle life.
It is not yet known which day he is joining the other campmates, but this article will be updated with that information as soon as it is available.
His decision to join the show has been met with widespread criticism, with the MP immediately having the Tory whip revoked and prime minister Rishi Sunak sharing his disapproval.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Georgia “Toff” Toffolo has said that Matt Hancock’s appearance on the show makes her “embarrassed” to be a Tory.
The former health secretary arrived in Australia this week ahead of his appearance on the ITV reality show, where he will join the 10 contestants already announced by ITV as a “bombshell” star.
Hancock has been widely criticised for the decision, with many arguing that a sitting MP should not be allowed to leave their constituents in a cost-of-living crisis to appear on the show. He has been stripped of the Tory whip.
Appearing on This Morning on Friday (4 November), former Queen of the Jungle Toffolo, who has been a vocal supporter of the Tories in the past, didn’t mince her words as she laid into Hancock.

Christine Hamilton has expressed her disapproval of Matt Hancock joining this year’s cast of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.
Hamilton was a contestant on the first season of the survival show in 2002 and ultimately finished in third place.
On Tuesday (1 November), Hancock was announced as a surprise entry to this year’s run of the ITV programme, alongside comedian Seann Walsh.
As a result, he was suspended from the Conservative Party later that day, as Chief Whip Simon Hart MP stated his belief that Hancock’s appearance was “a matter serious enough to warrant suspension of the whip with immediate effect”.
During an appearance on Lorraine on Wednesday (2 November), Hamilton made her feelings towards Hancock’s turn to reality television clear.
Commenting on the situation, she noted: “What he seems to forget is that he is still a very well-paid member of parliament, paid for...

Nick Grimshaw has predicted that Matt Hancock is going to be eating a lot of animal genitalia on this year’s I’m a Celebrity.
It emerged yesterday (1 November) that the former health secretary is joining the ITV show as a bombshell contestant for the 2022 series, along with comedian Seann Walsh.
Hancock, who was stripped of the Tory whip for joining the show, will be appearing on I’m a Celebrity with a lineup of famous faces including radio DJ Chris Moyles and Culture Club singer Boy George.
As with every season, the celebrities will face Bushtucker Trials while they’re in the jungle – with many being challenged to eat the most grisly of foods to win treats for their campmates.
Reacting to pictures of Hancock arriving in Australia for the series, radio presenter Nick Grimshaw told Good Morning Britain today (2 November): “All I thought, when I saw him going in,...

I’m a Celebrity fans are highlighting a negative quote Boy George recently made about the series.
The Culture Club singer is said to be receiving the biggest amount of money in the ITV show’s 20-year history, beating the eyewatering paycheque’s received by both Noel Edmonds and Caitlyn Jenner.
However, fans of the show are remembering something he said during an appearance on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway during an appearance on the series back in April.
After performing his hit song “Karma Chameleon’, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who both host I’m a Celebrity, asked Boy George what the song means to him.
He replied: “It means I’ll never have to say ‘I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.’”

Time’s Up U.K. has issued a statement regarding actor John Barrowman’s appearance on a British talk show, in which he claimed that repeatedly exposing his penis on set and in interviews “absolutely is not” sexual harassment.
There have been multiple reports of Barrowman, who has appeared in shows including “Doctor Who” and “Torchwood,” exposing himself publicly for over a decade. On Tuesday, the Scottish-born American actor appeared on ITV’s “Lorraine” to discuss the incidents, which he admitted to, albeit with various caveats.
“The assertion by John Barrowman that his well-documented actions do not constitute sexual harassment reveals yet again the need for the entertainment industry to underline and reassert expected standards of behaviour of which this is wholly unacceptable,” a spokesperson for Time’s Up U.K. told Variety. “Flashing people Is sexual harassment and it is never funny.”

Maisie Williams will never forget Arya Stark’s name, as the “Game of Thrones” star says she swiped one item belonging to her iconic character before leaving the set of the long-running HBO series for good: her brown jacket.
“I can imagine it being something that I’m like, ‘Oh, I was on this show once upon a time and this was the jacket I wore,'” Williams told host Nick Grimshaw earlier this week while appearing on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast show. “And my grandkids being like, ‘Please stop.'”
Williams said she “bawled” when the D.B. Weiss and David Benioff-created series wrapped production on its eighth and final season last month. The 21-year-old actress compared the experience of saying goodbye to the series she’s starred on for over 7 years to “cutting off an arm.”
“It’s been almost a decade,” Williams said. “I grew up with these.”
Luckily, the actress will have a little more time with Arya. Though the cast has finished production, the final batch of episodes aren’t coming until the first half of 2019, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour last month.
Pivoting to the spinoff series in the works, Bloys told TheWrap he hopes the prequel pilot from Jane Goldman will go into production in 2019.

Nothing gets Nick Jonas's heart racing more than talking about his famous exes. Case in point: the singer's recent interview with BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show where he played a little game of Heart Rate Monitor with host Nick Grimshaw.
