- Eddie Miller was born on November 26, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor, known for Columbia Panoramics: Tomorrow's Stars (1940). He died on July 31, 1997 in Lake Worth, Florida, USA.
- For fourteen seasons, he played shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds (1936-1937, 1943-1947), the Boston Braves (1939-1942), the Philadelphia Phillies (1948-1949), and the St. Louis Cardinals (1950). An excellent fielder but only an average hitter, he nonetheless made the National League All-Star team several times.
