Crooked Media and Audacy have teamed up on a new podcast series about radical left wing organization The Weather Underground.
The two companies have set Mother Country Radicals, which will get its world premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival on June 8. You can get a first listen to the trailer below.
The series is hosted by playwright Zayd Ayers Dohrn, son of Weather Underground leaders Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers.

The company is working on shows with Fox Sports host Rachel Bonnetta, Parks and Recreation writer Rachna Fruchbom, former Teen Vogue Chief Content Officer Phillip Picardi and What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker author Damon Young.

Pod Save America producer Crooked Media is moving into daily podcasts with the launch of What A Day from author and comedian Akilah Hughes and former Daily Beast writer Gideon Resnick.
Each episode of the podcast, which debuts on Monday October 28, is 15 minutes long and brings listeners the top stories of the day across politics, business, economics and pop culture. It will air on all podcast platforms with video across Crooked Media’s YouTube and social media channels.

The company, which is run by ex-President Obama staffs Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor and Jon Lovett, the latter who also wrote on The Newsroom, is launching America Dissected with Abdul El-Sayed.
The show, which will go beyond the headlines to understand the everyday threats to our national wellbeing, from the rise of anti-vaxxers and the price of prescription drugs, to the true causes of the opioid epidemic.
Hosted by 2018 candidate for Governor of Michigan, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the 10-part series will comes as healthcare sits at the center of the 2020 Presidential debates. Dr. El-Sayed will draw from his experience as Detroit’s Public Health Director following the city’s bankruptcy and during Flint’s water crisis to inform his exploration of how public health policies are critically important to ensuring our individual and collective health.

Former NBC and Legendary Television executive Edwin Chung has joined 20th Century Fox TV as the studio’s Vice President, Comedy Development. Chung begins his new role immediately and reports to Cheryl Dolins, Svp of Comedy Development. The new job reunites Chung with Dolins, with whom he worked at NBC earlier in his career.
