Betsy Dyer
- Actress
- Producer
Betsy Dyer's hometown is the same as Hal Roach the creator of the
little rascals a pre-Disney children's production company. In fact, Hal
Roach productions still does all the Disney filming. Her hometown also
recently got noticed for the movie filming of first black Hiesman
trophy winner Ernie 'the train' Davis. As well as the hometown of
Tommie Hilfiger. Some of Dyer's influences were Alfred Hitchcock who
suffered from bipolar issues, and indie films by director John Waters
co-starring Divine. She was a video clerk in high school at a little
known television technology firm called Curtis Mathes. Back when the
video revolution was just beginning. Then came Real indie cult movies
such as, liquid sky, attack of the killer tomatoes, and eraserhead.
Pre-MTV the revolution then began while Dyer completed high school in
the early 80s. Dyer enjoys a good story but mainly she likes to lead by
example. She acts in her spare time and Produces, Directs, and Writes
as her passion. She came to love Filmmaking when she joined forces
behind indie bandwagoner Shalene Portman. Shalene being her slight
junior but a more professional Director than Dyer inspired Dyer with a
cult film shot in Texas called the Significant Other. Dyer never gave
up promoting Portman and still believes in her vision today. Dyer has
her own projects she is unable at times to juggle so she doubles as
Assistant Producer for all of Portman's endeavors even if only part
time. Dyer's specialty is working with investor relations and press and
publicity for the likes of finding brands and logos for sponsors. She
really has a niche cut our standing up for Ms. Portman so endearingly.
She hopes to complete her own indie feature film by year end 2017. Dyer
has also a former career in the music industry and enjoys composing and
lyric writing as well.
