Gosh darn that Entertainment Weekly!
Curse you, Martha Thomases!
Damn those Republicans!
Off with your head, John Ostrander!
I’m the New York Giants’s Lawrence Tynes. I’m the place kicker here. I’m the one who gets the game going. Yeah, that’s right. Monday is the start of the week here at ComicMix. The calendar week may start with Sunday, but Monday is the real start of the week, isn’t it? As in first day of the work week and first day of the school week.
(Btw, what y’all thinking about the Giants first-round draft choice, running back Dave Wilson? I’m liking him. Yeah, that’s right. Football season is just about here. Deal with it. Go Giants!)
And here it is Monday, and I’m sitting here on Sunday afternoon without a thing to write about.
I was going to write about Superman...

"Late Show With David Letterman" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. Est on CBS) celebrates an incredible 30 years on the air Wednesday, February 1st.
Ahead of the big day, host David Letterman was joined by his first-ever guest on the show, Bill Murray, plus Regis Philbin, who has appeared on the show a whopping 43 times.
How better to celebrate than for the three showbiz veterans to indulge in some football in honor of Sunday night's big game?
The hair may be whiter and more sparse than in 1982, and the knees may have been creaking, but Murray gamely pulled on a uniform to show off his placekicking prowess.
As the pipes swirled outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, the irrepressible Reege ran out in his referee's uniform to take charge of proceedings. With a besuited Letterman looking oddly out of place kneeling down on 53rd Street as placekick holder, Murray ran up for three place kicks.

Just some rambling…
DC’s New 52 made the New York Times again. The title of the article is “So Far, Sales For New DC Comics Are Super,” by George Gene Gustines and Adam W. Kepler was published on Saturday, October 1, 2011 issue, and was featured on the front page of the Arts Section. According the article, the first five weeks of DC’s reboot of its universe has increased “the sales of DC Comics by leaps and bounds.” The first issue of the new Justice League – which the authors call DC’s flagship book. Really? I would have thought it was Superman, since the Son of Krypton is the flagship character. But what do I know? – anyway, the first issue sold “more than 200,000 copies, compared with the roughly 40,000 for each of the last few issues of the old book.” Well, I hope it keeps up, but these are the first issues.
