Charlamagne Tha God was a guest on The View to promote his book Get Honest or Die Lying and starred in a tense moment with the morning co-hosts.
Sunny Hostin asked the radio personality why he has not openly endorsed Joe Biden in his presidential reelection as he did in 2020.
“Well, since this book is all about having real conversations, let’s get to it. Let’s get real,” Hostin told Charlamagne. “You have a massive platform, reaching millions of listeners. You and I have talked about this before. You endorsed Joe Biden back in 2020, but this time around, you said you’re not going to endorse anybody. At last week’s A Day of Unreasonable Conversation held at The Getty Center, entertainment industry members heard from Hollywood and government leaders with varying cultural perspectives.
Jill Biden and Halle Berry at A Day of Unreasonable Conversation
Through thought-provoking discussions, impactful performances, and, at times, emotional conversations, A Day of Unreasonable Conversation surfaced new perspectives on today’s most complex topics to an audience of television writers, showrunners, and executives. Speakers were vulnerable in sharing stories that often do not get heard and urged the audience of TV creators to incorporate these experiences into their work.
First Lady Jill Biden and Halle Berry candidly discussed formerly taboo women’s health topics such as menopause, emphasizing the need for a new approach to women’s health research. Berry shared a personal story about how she realized that she was going through perimenopause, bringing forth blushes and laughter from the audience.

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez is facing a rapidly growing number of calls from his Democratic colleagues to resign from office following a damning indictment on charges of corruption and bribery.
On Wednesday, Menendez pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment in Manhattan court.
The indictment, which was made public on Friday, was initially met with widespread silence from Senate Democrats, save for Pennsylvania’s John Fetterman, who on Saturday called for Menendez’s resignation. “Senator Menendez should resign,” he wrote. “He’s entitled to the presumption of innocence,...

More than a year since she last faced a Senate hearing over her nomination to the FCC, Gigi Sohn returned again on Tuesday, telling lawmakers that “I believe deeply that regulated entities should not choose their regulators.”
Before the Senate Commerce Committee for a third time, she blasted “false and misleading attacks on my record and my character,” while she charged that industry opponents “have hidden behind dark money groups and surrogates because they fear a a pragmatic, pro-competition and pro-consumer policy maker.”
At stake is the Biden administration’s ability to break a 2-2 partisan deadlock on the commission, with the fifth spot vacant as Sohn’s nomination stalled out last year. But President Joe Biden recently renominated her for the new Congress, digging in in the face of GOP opposition, telecom and media industry attacks and, in the eyes of some of her fervent supporters, a smear campaign.

It was a highly political “Weekend Update” on Saturday Night Live with Colin Jost and Michael Che taking swipes at political figures.
Jost started off the segment by saying that “it was shaping up to be a good week for Joe Biden” after getting Brittney Griner back from Russia and “kept marriage gay” by having Congress pass protections for same-sex married couples.
“And he’s only got 14 more sleeps until Santa,” Jost added. “But then, just when he thought that he had it all under control, Kyrsten Sinema said, ‘Hold my wig.'”

Updated, with Schumer comment: Senator Kyrsten Sinema jolted Democratic hopes of obtaining a clear majority in the next Congress when she announced on Friday that she has switched her party affiliation to independent.
“Like a lot of Arizonans, I have never fit perfectly in either national party,” she wrote in an op ed in the Arizona Republic. “Becoming an independent won’t change my work in the Senate; my service to Arizona remains the same.”
Sinema’s move comes days after Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-ga) won reelection, giving Democrats a 51-49 majority. Sinema told Politico that she does not plan to caucus with Republicans. Democrats count two independents as part of their caucus — Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Senator Angus King of Maine — and Sinema plans to maintain her committee assignments controlled by the party. Even without her vote, the Senate would be tied, leaving it to Vice President Kamala Harris to break it.

Trevor Noah congratulated Raphael Warnock on his Senate win in the Georgia runoff election, while joking that he would not have been as “gracious” as the former pastor given his “walking vasectomy commercial” of an opponent, former football player Herschel Walker.
“You couldn’t have had a race between two more different candidates when you think about it,” “The Daily Show” host said. “When you take a moment, when you step away from the race, do you understand how crazy this was? You had Raphael Warnock, a pastor who was preaching at the same church as MLK, and Herschel Walker, a man who thinks MLK is how you spell ‘milk.'”

Following Herschel Walker’s runoff loss this week in Georgia, Seth Meyers is reflecting on why he fell to Sen. Raphael Warnock. According to the late night host, there was one clear sign from the beginning: the fact that Walker rarely did appearances on Fox News alone.
To kick off his “A Closer Look” segment on Wednesday, Meyers played a supercut of Walker’s media appearances to call attention to the fact that more often than not, he was accompanied by Sen. Lindsey Graham.
“One way you know that Herschel Walker was deeply unqualified to serve in the United States senate was that even Republicans would rarely let him go on Fox News by himself,” Meyers joked. “Instead he was almost always accompanied by a chaperone, South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham, who seemed to do most of the talking.”

Stephen Colbert was in a chipper mood on Wednesday’s episode of “The Late Show,” thanks to the victory of Democrat Raphael Warnock over Republican Herschel Walker in the Georgia U.S. Senate. runoff election Tuesday.
And to celebrate, Colbert dusted off some jokes he and his staff had written for the show back on election day (Nov. 8), but didn’t get to tell because the race between Warnock and Walker was forced into a runoff.
“I’m gratified because, with the election over, I finally get to use the jokes we wrote a month ago,” Colbert said right off the bat. He was then handed an extremely dusty envelope, sealed with wax (get it? Because it’s old?) which contained the jokes.
“Warnock has won Georgia, and it’s fitting he’s a reverend, because all I can think when I hear that is, ‘thank God,'” went the first joke.

Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Republican challenger Herschel Walker in a Georgia runoff election Tuesday, ensuring Democrats an outright majority in the Senate for the rest of President Joe Biden’s term and helping cap an underwhelming midterm cycle for the GOP in the last major vote of the year.
With Warnock’s second runoff victory in as many years, Democrats will have a 51-49 Senate majority, gaining a seat from the current 50-50 split with John Fetterman’s victory in Pennsylvania. There will be divided government, however, with Republicans having narrowly flipped House control.
In last month’s election, Warnock led Walker by 37,000 votes out of almost 4 million cast but fell short of the 50 percent threshold needed to avoid a runoff. Walker, a football legend who first gained fame at the University of Georgia and later in the NFL in the 1980s,...

Raphael Warnock has defeated Herschel Walker in a runoff election to determine who will represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate.
The incumbent Democrat was leading with Democratic areas still to report when the race was called Tuesday night. Warnock bested Walker by just under a percentage point during the general election last month, but didn’t cross the 50-percent threshold needed to avoid a runoff. His victory means Democrats will hold a 51-49 advantage in the Senate, expanding their slim majority in midterm elections that were projected to favor Republicans.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-ga) was projected to win election to a full Senate term on Tuesday, defeating football star Herschel Walker in a runoff that was the final chapter of the midterms.
Warnock’s victory will give Democrats a 51-49 margin in the Senate, a one-seat gain that gives the party a clear majority.
Walker’s defeat was another loss for a Donald Trump-endorsed candidate, as the former president thrown his backing behind the sports celebrity despite his lack of experience in the political realm and personal baggage from past relationships.
News networks CNN and MSNBC spent hours analyzing the runoff results, with each candidate flipping back and forth in the lead several times. Fox News also covered the results, but as part of their regular primetime lineup.
“After a hard-fought campaign, you got me for six more years,” Warnock told a room of cheering supporters after Walker conceded the race.

MSNBC host Joy Reid slammed Georgia’s Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, Herschel Walker, Tuesday night as polls were closing in the state’s run-off between he and Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock.
Reid, talking among a panel of anchors and analysts during the network’s coverage of the special election, discussed a trip she took to Georgia, during which she talked to potential voters.
“While I was down there, the word I heard the most, particularly from Black voters in Georgia, was representation,” Reid said.

Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker fails to see the humor in former president Barack Obama’s jokes about Walker’s preference to be a werewolf rather than a vampire.
Appearing on Fox News, the candidate claimed Obama did not “tell the whole story” when joking about comments Walker made in November where he said, “I don’t know if you know, but vampires are some cool people, are they not? After a brief hiatus, Saturday Night Live returned on Dec. 3 and dove right into the upcoming Georgia Senate runoff race between Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock.
The cold open featured Kenan Thompson’s Herschel Walker, Mikey Day’s John Cornyn, Cecily Strong’s Marsha Blackburn and James Austin Johnson’s Mitch McConnell.
“Well, Herschel, the midterms wasn’t the red wave we hoped for, but we think you can win this Tuesday,” Day’s Cornyn said. “Yes. The priority now is to get out the vote because he got this big runoff coming up,” Strong’s Blackburn added.
“Oh, well, I’m good at those,” Thompson’s Walker replied. “My ex-wife said all I do is run off.”
Strong and Day explained to Thompson that they were talking about the Senate race, which is polling very close, with Warnock polling at 50.9 percent and Walker at 49.1 percent.

The Saturday Night Live cold open used Herschel Walker’s own slip ups and bizarre words against him to skewer his Senate bid, as the Republican Senate candidate in Georgia faces off against Democrat Raphael Warnock.
In real life, Walker’s post-Election Day runoff has been marked by his comments about vampires and werewolves, as well as a slip-up that was a bit Freudian given the allegations and revelations that have emerged since the football star entered the political arena.
In the skit, Walker (Kenan Thompson) is visiting the office of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (James Austin Johnson), as he and other colleagues are anxious for any kind of win after Republican hopes of retaking the majority were dashed in the most recent midterms. But the seasoned politicians have to contend with a candidate, Walker, who seems to be testing how much voters will accept when it comes to lack of qualifications.

Walker was appearing, as he frequently does lately, alongside two currently serving GOP senators, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, who are stumping for him during his campaign in the Georgia U.S. Senate election runoff election. Walker’s opponent is of course Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock, who if he wins will help Democrats secure control of all Senate committees alongside enlarging the Democrats’ majority. Early voting begins this weekend.
And at one point, he intended to say “this election is for the people.” But, if we had to speculate without any evidence, perhaps he had some of his many recent scandals in the back of his mind. Because what he said...

One of the most important dates on this year’s political calendar may just be Nov. 26.

Former President Donald Trump announced Tuesday night from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida that he’s running for president a third time. Trump announced his 2024 bid moments after filing a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission.

As he entered the room along with former first lady Melania Trump, the twice-impeached former president was introduced as the “next president” of the United States, teasing his announcement.

With the midterm elections taking over news headlines this week, Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” had a few hot takes on the outcomes. One of the most notable ones was the shift Rupert Murdoch’s publications had on Donald Trump after the “red wave” never materialized with the Democrats holding their ground.
“Rupert Murdoch this week officially turned on Donald Trump,” Colin Jost said. “First, the New York Post ran a cover calling Ron DeSantis, Ron DeFuture even though Ron DeFuture sounds more like a drag queen from outer space.”
Jost continued, “Then on Thursday, The Post showed Donald Trump as an egg sitting on a wall with the headline, ‘Trumpty Dumpty,’ which had to be the easiest Photoshop job in history.”
Michael Che addressed the Georgia runoff race between Senator Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker that will occur on December 6 after the candidates didn’t get over 50 of the votes.

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-nv) was projected to win reelection over Adam Laxalt in Nevada’s U.S. Senate race, assuring Democratic control of the Senate.
The latest vote tallies were enough for networks to call the race for Cortez Masto, who trailed until final mail-in ballots were counted in more populous counties like Clark and Washoe.
Coupled with the reelection of Sen. Mark Kelly (D-az) in the Arizona Senate race, Cortez Masto’s razor-thin victory gives Democrats a sense of relief, assuring that they will have at least 50 seats. Had they lost the race, it would have meant that the December 6 runoff in Georgia between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-ga) and Republican Herschel Walker would have determined who controls the chamber. Now, if Democrats lose that seat, they will still have control of the 50-50 Senate, as Vice President Kamala Harris will break any tie vote.

It’s official: Democrats have clinched control of the U.S. Senate. Sen. But a runoff election in Georgia could still expand the Democrats’ majority if Sen. Raphael Warnock triumphs over Herschel Walker.

Mark Kelly has been elected to a full six-year term in the U.S. Senate for the state of Arizona. The incumbent’s close victory puts the Democrats one vital step closer to continuing to control the upper chamber.
Three days after the midterm elections, CNN, Nnc and others declared the former astronaut, who was elected to the Senate in a special 2020 election, was on a solid trajectory to beat Republican challenger Blake Masters in the former home of John McCain. The race for Arizona governor is still too close to call, but Democrat Adrian Fontes has now been declared the winner for the state’s pivotal Secretary of State position over self-described Oath Keeper Mark Finchem.
