Paloma Faith rejected an offer to be a judge on The Voice UK because she lacks confidence in her own abilities.
The quirky singer told The Daily Star that she was asked to join the show to replace Jessie J.
"Yes they did offer me The Voice, but I didn't feel it was right," Faith explained.
"I don't like the idea of eliminating people because I don't feel confident enough about my own abilities to judge anybody else."
Faith said that she was much happier with her role in Samsung show Launching People.
Launching People, which also features Idris Elba, Rankin and Gizzi Erskine Rankin, aims to unearth the stars of tomorrow in the mediums of film, music, photography and food.
Serving as a mentor, Faith said that the project is "about celebrating someone's talent – whereas The Voice is about rejection and battles".
