David LeGuerrier is a Montreal-based film and video editor, director and musician. His work on award winning feature documentary, critically acclaimed documentary series, web series, shorts and countless television ads spans 20 years.
As an editor, David has spent his career writing, cutting and crafting stories. This experience has given him a keen sense of narrative storytelling, visual flair and creative ingenuity. Working closely with directors, writers, graphic designers, animators, compositors and colourist, he is often involved in designing the visual aesthetic of his projects.
As a musician, David has been able to combine his visual creativity with his musical background to enhance his projects with sound and music. With extensive contacts in the music industry, he has collaborated with musicians (Amon Tobin, Bonobo), labels (Ninja Tune), composers (Ramachandra Borcar, Kelly Nunes), sound designers and mixers. He often doubles as music supervisor and consultant on his projects.
As a director, he has done shorts, trailers for film and tv, designed and implemented new branding and promotional material for a digital network and more recently has written and directed a web series for the Canadian Space Agency's astronaut recruitment campaign.
David is best known for his work as editor and music supervisor on Pax Americana and the Weaponization of Space which won best documentary at the Whistler International Film Festival. He wrote and directed Astronauts Wanted, a web-series for the Canadian Space Agency. He edited the critically acclaimed documentary series Capitalism for Arte along with other award nominated projects including Rayons d'Espoir (official selection at Vues d'Afrique), Down The Mighty River (nominated best doc series at the Gemini Awards), Double Identity: the Counterfeit Lives of Hollywood Lookalikes (official selection at the Columbus International Film + Video Festival) and The War of the Sexes (3 nominations - Gemini Awards).
