- Knute Horwitz was born and raised in the city of Chicago. Like any well rounded actor, he has experienced a variety of jobs. He shoveled snow in 20 below, tended bar for Windy City politicians and athletes, fished commercially for salmon in Alaska, slung herring in a Swedish deli, taught speech and diction to immigrants, sorted parcels in a basement mail room and mended forklift potholes in a liquor warehouse. Knute studied theater and voice at Northeastern Illinois University where his favorite operatic role was Sarastro in The Magic Flute.
