- Rafael has worked in entertainment and special event production since when he began working at a live music venue in New Haven Connecticut called Toad's Place where he assisted in the lighting of concerts ranging from The Ramones to the Rolling Stones. After High School he was accepted into the School of the Arts' Division of Theater Arts and Film at The State University Of New York-Purchase College where he majored in theatrical lighting design. At this time he worked on his first film "Not Just Good Time Sunday" as Best Boy (electrics). His subsequent film work has included production management for Ruben one of the most successful running festival shorts of all time, which premiered at the acclaimed Sundance Film Festival in 1999. After Purchase he spent over a decade at MTV Networks working on their premier productions and live broadcast such as the Unplugged series as well as their daily programming. In 2002, Rafael began working on the 9-11 memorial "Tribute in Light" eventually becoming the Technical Director for this world-renowned memorial in 2010.
