If the series finale of Chuck wasn’t a proper farewell, I do not know what is. These final two hours of Chuck were the most beautiful love letters to the fans, cast, crew, and everyone involved in supporting Chuck over these five incredible seasons. The comedy, the action, the romance, the geek references… it all came to an end last night in the most perfect way. Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak did not disappoint. Everyone poured their heart and soul into the finale and it showed. What a beautiful ending.
“Wow, it’s all ending, huh?” – Morgan
In Chuck vs. Sarah, Chuck (Zachary Levi) did not have to go far to find Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) as she made her way back to Burbank… for Chuck’s spy resources in her mission to take down Quinn. The mention of Bryce’s name was the first butterfly to flutter and there...

Chuck began with a very special opening title, one fans will definitely appreciate especially since this was not the series finale and fans would love nothing more for familiarity come then. Perhaps the original opening awaits us in the finale episode? No matter, this week was the calm before the storm and an almost movie like opening set the tone perfectly for this week and the final episode. Embrace the movie like opening, people because this is it.
In “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train,” Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and John Casey (Adam Baldwin) are on a mission to rescue Chuck (Zachary Levi), to Chuck’s surprise, with the intersect in Sarah’s head. Chuck was understandably worried about this result but watching the two later bond over how awesome the intersect benefits are was quite a moment. There are not many people on the earth who have had the intersect in their head,...

In “Chuck vs. Bo,” Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) wasted no time in coming straight out about her thoughts of quitting the spy game to Chuck (Zachary Levi) and shift Carmichael Industries to an office job rather than a field job. But before this transition began, the team took some of their spy gear to Colorado for one last mission where Morgan (Joshua Gomez) was reunited with Bo Derek….his past “lover!” The first thing that surely came to everyone’s mind was, when did that happen? The next thought… what is Bo up to now in the world of Chuck? The title of the episode clearly details Bo as the bad guy. So it came as no surprise that Bo was involved with the case of the intersect. Is it safe to say she is our final female villain? Either way, it all made for one of the most entertaining episodes this season.

Chuck 5.10 "Chuck Vs. Bo" Review
Chuck season 5 emerges with its tightly-coiled tenth entry in this week’s "Chuck Vs. Bo" Morgan's past with the Intersect drags Chuck and Team Bartowski on one last mission in Vail to meet with superstar Bo Derek as herself, and uncover a new villain. Things are really starting to move along in Chuck's final episodes, and thankfully "Bo" manages to keep a good balance of its many plot lines toward one of the more fun episodes of the season.
Well, there’s three episodes left. That should be enough time to give Casey the Intersect too, right? Maybe Big Mike, or one of the Buy More extras?
All kidding aside, “Chuck Vs. Bo” left us with a lot to digest, particularly in those last few minutes as Casey and Sarah seemed pinned down by a barrage of gunfire, their only hope for Sarah to...

This week’s episode of Chuck took a back seat in exhilaration and heart pounding action. Ordinarily, a break from all of the action would be fitting but with these being the final episodes of the series… much is expected. And unfortunately there was not enough action… or comedy. Last night’s episode actually seemed rather slow moving. With such dynamite episodes in the past few weeks, this change of pace did not go unnoticed. So while this episode does not stand out among the rest, it did provide for some entertainment.
In “Chuck vs. the Kept Man,” John Casey (Adam Baldwin) rekindles the fire with Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) who also becomes the first client of Carmichael Industries ever since their C.A.R.E. Mission Statement released. Let it be noted that Moss and Baldwin’s chemistry is off the charts! Chuck (Zachary Levi) is so clever and so human!

Chuck 5.08 "Chuck Vs. The Baby" Review
Chuck season 5 swaddles up its eighth entry with this week’s "Chuck Vs. The Baby" as Chuck and Sarah delve into the past by confronting her rogue former CIA handler (Tim DeKay) over a missing child involved with one of her last missions. After some strong weeks "Baby" may offer up a bit of tonal whiplash in its contrasting plot lines, but ultimately comes together for a solid look into Sarah's mysterious past.
Sigh. With another holiday week gone by, NBC dumps yet another Chuck episode to the no-man’s-land of Friday, New Years’ Eve Eve. With most still on vacation or at the very least enjoying a Friday night social life, how little must NBC’s regard for Chuck have dissolved to burn off yet a second important episode during a time least likely to be watched?
Unlike last week’s "Chuck Vs.

“Chuck vs. the Santa Suit” is without a doubt the most intense episode of season five and there are still a month’s worth of episodes left to air of the series. This also makes for the best Christmas episode of the series. There were lows and highs which included the most breathtaking game changer of the series at the very end of the episode. “Chuck vs. the Santa Suit” gave us action, tension, laughs, heart, and so much more. What an impressive hour.

Chuck 5.06 "Chuck Vs. The Curse" Review
Chuck season 5 summons out its sixth entry with this week’s "Chuck Vs. The Curse" as Chuck, Sarah and Casey look to rescue Devon and Ellie from rogue CIA agents after a date gone wrong, and prevent the outbreak of deadly computer virus "The Omen" at the hands of Robin Cunnings (guest star Rebecca Romijn)
Ultimately, "Chuck Vs. The Curse" offers up something of a mixed bag, enchanting us with its potential scope but stumbling a bit in its execution.
With a show as versatile as Chuck you’re bound to run into headaches trying to classify episodes, which in and of itself speaks to why the series at large experienced such trouble in finding an audience. Chuck works at its best when keeping the comedy and heavier spy material in check, last week’s “Chuck Vs. The Hack-Off” keeping a smart mixture of...

"Chuck" ended its last episode with the principals of Carmichael Industries on the run, and a life in hiding is not sitting well with at least one member of the team.
In the clip above from Friday's (Dec. 16) episode, "Chuck vs. the Curse," Chuck (Zachary Levi) thinks that the fact that he had to leave people behind in order to protect them is the latest instance of a family curse. It probably doesn't help that he's in an isolated cabin, the way his dad was for many years.
Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) assures Chuck that he's not cursed, but they then hit a wall in trying to figure out who's really behind the vendetta against him.
Meanwhile, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) seems to have mended things with Alex (Mekenna Melvin) -- or at least managed to get her talking to him again -- when he comes face to face (more or less; height joke!

Chuck 5.04 "Chuck Vs. The Business Trip" Review
Chuck season 5 zooms on its fourth entry with this week’s "Chuck Vs. The Business Trip" as Chuck goes undercover as Morgan Grimes himself to flush out a deadly CIA assassin hunting his best friend at a Buy More retreat. Definitely the strongest and funniest outing yet of Chuck season 5, "Chuck Vs. The Business Trip" will entertain, but deepen your sadness that only nine episodes remain for the plucky Carmichael Industries.
Expectation plays a funny role in the way we all perceive television, and “Chuck Vs. the Business Trip" provides a fine example of that. For instance, almost two years ago I found myself walking down the street listening to Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me” (come on, that’s an awesome song), and for whatever reason my brain made the connections to conjure that the song would make for a fine Jeffster performance,...

Chuck Interview: Mekenna Melvin Promises 'Crazy Twists' For Final Season
Last week's Chuck episode "Chuck Vs. The Frosted Tips" re-introduced Mekenna Melvin into the mix as Alex McHugh, daughter to John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and love interest to Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez), who found herself coldly dumped via text message from an Intersect-affected and unfeeling Morgan. But surely we've not see the last of Alex, no?
We recently had a chance to speak to the Chuck star on what's to come for Alex in Chuck's *supposedly* final season, and just how she'll ever get over that brutal "Dmpd'd" text message" Will Alex sign up with Carmichael Industries looking to exact vengeance on her man, or re-learn to love the bearded bandit? And what of her father's new love interest, Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss)?

Chuck Review, Season 5, Episode 3, “Chuck Versus the Frosted Tips”
Written by Phil Klemmer
Directed by Paul Marks
Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
There comes a point in many shows when long-time fans have to decide what they expect from new episodes. Is it enough to just enjoy hanging out with favorite characters, even if the story lets them down? This question has likely been on the minds of Chuck’s dedicated (if limited) audience during the early fifth season. Putting the Intersect in Morgan hasn’t worked, even with the surprising conflict that’s come out of it. This move has changed the focus and left many characters lurking outside the frame. Involving such a large cast in each episode is tricky, and it grows even tougher when the tone is all over the map.

Chuck 5.03 "Chuck Vs. The Frosted Tips" Review
Chuck season 5 zooms on its third entry with this week’s "Chuck Vs. The Frosted Tips" as our favorite spy team at Carmichael Industries faces the Intersect-ed Morgan Grimes himself when the bearded agent gets too big for his britches, and joins up with Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) at Verbanski Corp. Easily the strongest outing yet of Chuck season 5, the series still feels just a few "zooms" shy of greatness.
I confess that I’ve always loved Chuck, in spite of its flaws. The show exudes a warmth and love of geek culture that frequently transcends its missteps with action /adventure, and it’s hard to judge a series when NBC so often batted its fate around, unable to properly develop story arcs that brew over a full season. Season 4 even represented a step in the right direction as far as adding some much-needed maturity to the series,...

The last season of Chuck has started filming and Comic Con gave some hints as to what we can expect from season 5 (for Clarissa's full report head here). TVLine has just announced some more big casting news that will have major consequences for John Casey (Adam Baldwin). Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss will be guest starring in a multi-episode arc as both a rival and a love interest for Casey. Warning spoilers ahead.
Moss will be playing Gertrude Verbanski, a former spy who also runs a private firm 'Verbanski Corp'. This company happens to be the biggest competitor to Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) new business venture. Along with this business rivalry Verbanski has a history with Casey and even though she is both "ruthless and deadly" her weak spot might be with a certain former Nsa agent. Baldwin hinted at Comic-Con that Casey might be in for a...

With so many revelations last week, this week’s Chuck seemed pale in comparison. The second half of the broadcast was much more interesting than the first half, but still a bit weak.
Just when wedding week arrives, Casey (Adam Baldwin) gets a text message informing the team of Mary (Linda Hamilton) being taken prisoner by Vivian Volkoff (Lauren Cohan). So two days before the wedding, the team finds themselves in Colombia, ready to bring Mary back safely to the states. If there’s any night to be thankful that the first story line in the first half hour was not the main story line of the entire episode, it’s this one. There was really no need to stretch this saving out, so thankfully, the team retrieved her without sweating too much.

Avatar and Game of Thrones references included, last night’s Chuck was quite entertaining.
Confirming that Vivian (Lauren Cohan) was not a killer proved to be quite a challenge for Chuck (Zachary Levi) after getting played by Alexei Volkoff (Timothy Dalton). The decisions that General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) and those above her have been making regarding the team’s cases has been highly questionable this season. The entire team thought so this week when Beckham released Volkoff from being imprisoned for the case at hand. What a brilliant decision that turned out to be. After Chuck’s life was almost gambled upon a game of Uno (classic moment for the writers), Volkoff turned on Vivian, and Vivian worked with him only to play him as well…that left only one winner tonight…Vivian. Now that there is no doubt of Vivian’s ability to kill and with the knowledge of...

Chuck and Sarah are having a bad experience with wedding planner as their account is emptied. But it is not their only problem in the upcoming episode of "Chuck" for they are also suspended from their job.
As Chuck and Sarah get conned out of their wedding money, there is only one man they can turn to for help - Sarah's conman father, Jack Burton. Meanwhile, Morgan pressures Casey to face Alex's mother.
Gary Cole will return as Sarah's father, while Mekenna Melvin will guest star as Alex's mother. "Chuck Versus the Wedding Planner" will air Monday, April 18 on NBC.
After this episode, there will only be three more episodes to close off the fourth season. NBC has not announced whether they will pick up the action comedy series for a fifth season.

Mekenna Melvin dishes about 'Chuck'Exclusive Interview by Michael Aaron Gallagher
It's no secret that "Chuck" is adored by television fans and critics alike. Now in its third season, the quirky spy dramedy recently welcomed actress Mekenna Melvin to its diverse cast. Originally from Saratoga, California, her training in martial arts, comedy and drama, make her a triple threat on screen.
As Alex McHugh, Melvin plays the daughter of John Casey (played by Adam Baldwin) and the love interest of Morgan Grimes (played by Joshua Gomez).
I recently had the chance to talk to Mekenna about her work on the NBC series and what she enjoys most about her character.
Michael Aaron Gallagher: "Tell me a little bit about how you landed your role on 'Chuck?'"
Mekenna Melvin: "I got the role in kind of an exciting way. I was originally auditioning for a one-word co-star...

On NBC’s Chuck, we can’t help but be jealous of agent Morgan Grimes for getting to woo the pants off of the beautiful Alex McHugh. So we decided to go for the real thing: we put on our fancy swag, made sure our fly was zipped, and on our imaginary first date, the acting, singing, dancing, karate-chopping, super sweet (super pretty) Mekenna Melvin tries to convince Ology that she’s boring. Yeah, right.

Most actor-audition stories are pretty similar: You go in, you read for the role several times, you maybe test with other actors, you get the part.
That wasn't quite how it worked for Mekenna Melvin, who returns to "Chuck" Monday (Oct. 11) as Casey's (Adam Baldwin) daughter, Alex.
"When I first got the audition, the title was '20-year-old girl.' It was one line, one scene. It wasn't even one line, it was one word, which was 'Mom,'" Melvin tells Zap2it. "I basically had no information going into the audition; I just knew I had to say 'Mom.'"
She got the part, and then her manager called to say her character now had a name: Alex. Oh, and by the way, she was Casey's long-lost daughter. "I was like, 'What?!? This is so awesome!"
A while after her first appearance, "Chuck" decided to bring Alex back --...

MeKenna Melvin Talks About Chuck Season 4 and Playing Adam Baldwin’s Daughter On The Hit NBC Series!
I got a chance to talk to MeKenna Melvin today, who wanted to give us an insight into playing the daughter of Chuck’s resident bad-ass, John Casey (Adam Baldwin). After first appearing in the Season 3 episode “Chuck Vs. the Tic-Tac,” her character has slowly began to evolve and start a relationship with Casey and as recently as Season 4′s second episode, “Chuck vs. The Suitcase,” she has been off the screen talking to Morgan while calling her father any chance she gets.
Getting to know her character, Alex McHugh, is going to be essential to understanding one of the newest characters to the world of Chuck, but also someone who will contribute to a lot of growth in the characters of Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Casey.
When talking to Melvin, who plays Alex on the series, you got the sense of how much fun she has playing this character...

Chuck star Adam Baldwin has revealed that the character of Alex McHugh (Mekenna Melvin) will feature more heavily in the upcoming fourth season of the show. McHugh was first introduced in the third season of the show as the daughter of Baldwin's character, Colonel John Casey. The actor told IGN: "I have a feeling we're going to find out a lot more about Alex. She has self-defence skills and that likely portends that she will somehow find her way into a mission or two." Question: Is John Casey’s daughter, Alex (Mekenna Melvin), going to be a series regular next season on Chuck? —Charles
Ausiello: She’ll be the next best thing to a series regular: a recurring guest star. (That noise you hear is Morgan fantasizing about their awkward first date.)
Question: Will Jessalyn Gilsig be a regular on Glee next season? I absolutely love Terri, but I fear I’m the only one!
