I may not have grown up under the Common Core Standards, but I know enough math to figure out the following simple equation:
There are six weeks left of American Idol‘s Season 15. There are seven weeks left of Kelly Clarkson’s pregnancy. If Fox and 19 Entertainment spring for a luxury Rv to transport the original Idol winner to and from Hollywood every Thursday between now and the April 7 finale, there is no reason whatsoever she can’t upgrade this rollercoaster of a Farewell Season with her sweetly rambling, stream-of-consciousness, heartfelt and honest critiques. (And the occasional emotionally devastating performance.

The ninth season of "American Idol" marks the return of "Idol Gives Back," airing on Wednesday, and last week to get ready for the big night, former "American Idol" finalists from around the country volunteered at food banks to help support Feeding America. At the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Et caught up with Amy Adams (season 3), Didi Benami (season 9), Kevin Covais (season 5), Chikezie (season 7), Mikalah Gordon (season 4), David Hernandez (season 7), Kimberley Locke (season 2), Latoya London (season 3), Brandon Rogers (season 6) and Elliott Yamin (season 5). "It is important for us to be here because hunger is a real issue in America. A show like 'American Idol' can help bring so much attention to the issue. I think people tend to forget about it, especially in these times. Everybody is feeling the pressure of the economy and there are even more kids out there who don't have food," Kimberley tells Et.

As part of the ramp-up to "Idol Gives Back," past "American Idol" contestants are volunteering at food banks around the country.
One of the charities receiving the "Idol Gives Back" aid is Feeding America and in addition to donating money, the past Idols are helping with the Feeding America backpack program.
The idea is that children have food during the week when they are in school, but once the weekend comes around, they might be going hungry. These backpacks are filled with nutritious things like apple juice, tuna, milk, mashed potatoes and spaghetti and meatballs. The kids can pick up the backpacks on Fridays and return them on Mondays, then pick them up again the following Friday and so on. Also included in the backpacks are informational packets about nutritional food.

Annop Desai made it to the seventh week on last year’s American Idol and the 23 year old is now preparing to release his debut album.
The record titled “All is Fair” will hit the shelves on May 4 and the song above “My Name” will be his first single.
“It’s a pop record, but definitely influenced by a Bollywood feel,” Desai told People.
“‘My Name’ has a double meaning. On one hand, it’s a response to kids that used to make fun of my name when I was little. I wanted my first contribution to be something that said, ‘Hey, my name is now cool, not something to be ashamed of.’”
“It’s also about false bravado. Each song on the All is Fair album describes a mindset or a time in my life. ‘My Name’ is about going to a club and trying to act like a big deal.

"American Idol" in 60 Seconds has fast become an MTV News institution, but it goes by so fast that it's not always easy to catch every golden nugget. So, here we present to you Jim Cantiello's bite-size recap of this week's "Idol" high jinks.
It was Rolling Stones week on "American Idol," and the newly elected top 12 didn't completely embarrass themselves. Golf clap!
It was also a week where the judges happily overlooked mangled lyrics (Didi Benami's "Play With Fire"), off-key notes (Siobhan Magnus' "Paint It Black") and questionable hygiene (Crystal Bowersox wrapped a dreadlock around one of Lilly Scott's patented peacock feathers).
When the contestants weren't warbling Stones tunes, viewers got to meet their families in clips that consisted of weepy dads...

Spoofing a sappy TV genre, in this case supersaturated teen soap dramas starring good-looking kids with too much money, is a really dangerous thing. It can be like poking fun at the fat kid or booing at the Special Olympics – you don’t come out looking good. The problems, the holes, the bad acting, the idiotic plot twists, the over the top romances, etc. are so obvious in the originals that to parody them can leave the audience rolling their eyes as if the whole thing were one bad pun. Valley Peaks, a web series from from Chicken Cobra (whose mascot kinda looks like Trogdor) does no such thing. They took a chance at spoofing the obvious and pull it off with near perfection. The bathetic music intro song by American Idol’s Brandon Rogers shows the all too familiar scene: a white background, wind blown hair, camera pans on...
