For country singer Whitney Duncan, tragedy struck on a day that should have been one of celebration. The same day that Whitney Duncan learned she made Survivor, she also found out her cousin, Holly Bobo, had gone missing.
When Holly Bobo mysteriously vanished, it sent a wave of shock, sadness, and terror throughout the community.
What happened to Duncan’s cousin Bobo?
Bobo was only 20 years old when she was kidnapped from her Tennessee home while preparing to leave for nursing school. The cousin of the Survivor: South Pacific cast member seemed to vanish into thin air. Her family members soon launched a search.
However, the website All That’s Interesting reports that there were very few leads and almost no clues. On the day that she disappeared, April 13, 2011, Bobo’s mother got a concerning phone call at work from one of the neighbors saying that there had been screaming at the house.

Reality TV shows are known for creating some of the most unlikely couples. Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson are one such pair that gained attention in the entertainment industry. Duncan, a country singer and songwriter, rose to fame after her appearance on the 23rd season of the reality TV show Survivor.

However, her time on the show was not just a platform for her musical career but also the beginning of a controversial love story. While on Survivor: South Pacific, Duncan met her now-husband and fellow contestant Tollefson while married to her ex.

Survivor contestants endure being stranded on a deserted island and dealing with treacherous weather conditions. But that’s not all. In addition to following strict rules — like being allowed only two luxury items and not talking to the crew — players must compete in various challenges. One of the most notorious is the “Piranha Feast.” And it’s as disgusting as it sounds.
What is the ‘Survivor’ challenge Piranha Feast? ‘Survivor: South Pacific’ castmates Jim Rice, Whitney Duncan, Keith Tollefson, Dawn Meehan, and Elyse Umemoto | Monty Brinton/CBS via Getty Images
This recurring Survivor challenge involved contestants using their mouths to rip hunks of meat off a large roasted animal and placing them into a basket. The tribe with the most meat in the basket when the timer stopped won.
The CBS reality TV show introduced the Piranha Feast — also known as “Hungry for Love” and “Pig Out” — in season 6, Survivor: The Amazon.

Unlike Big Brother, showmances aren’t a regularity in Survivor. Whereas there is a Big Brother showmance almost every season, the contestants in the other CBS reality competition series aren’t too focused on finding love. However, sometimes, the Survivor castaways can’t deny a romantic connection, and they pursue a relationship on the show. And the last time a showmance formed in Survivor was in season 37, aka Survivor: David vs. Goliath.

At the beginning of Survivor Season 37, producers placed Kara Kay and Dan Rengering on the Goliath tribe. Kara, a 30-year-old from San Diego, CA, worked as a realtor, and Dan, a 28-year-old from Gainesville, Fl, worked as a Swat officer. And immediately, the two castaways hit it off.
In the first episode, Dan called Kara his “kryptonite.

We're only two weeks into this season's "American Idol" Finals and The Save is gone. The "Idol" judges opted to Save Qaasim Middleton last week. Were they protecting the entertainment factor that Qaasim brings to the show? Were they rewarding Qaasim for bringing energy to an episode that had lacked energy? Were they recognizing that America's voting has, thus far, been wonky as heck this season? Either way, Wednesday's (March 25) episode of "American Idol" is going to be a double-elimination episode, meaning that there are 11 remaining contestants, but presumably only nine are going to sing. This will change the entire architecture of the episode. Plus, Fox is boasting an appearance by Salt and/or Peppa, following last week's big Kenny Loggins appearance. Whee! 8:01 p.m. I think Nick Fradiani should have been the '80s Night mentor, since I'm pretty sure he's the only contestant this season who existed way back then.

Despite a few shows taking the week off, there are finales and premieres galore this week, plus the regular batch of discussion-worthy series, making for one of the longest regular podcast episodes in quite a while. First we dive in with the comedies, including the Parks and Rec series finale, The Last Man on Earth’s pilot, and a fantastic Doris-centric Looking. Next up are reality and genre, including the premiere of the new dating-centric season of The Amazing Race and the season finale of Agent Carter, and we wrap up the week with the dramas, including the pilot of Battle Creek, the return of The Good Wife, and much more. Afterward, SoS’s own Whitney McIntosh returns to the DVD Shelf to break down TV’s longest running female-driven series and genre favorite, Charmed.

American Idol executive producer Trish Kinane was on hand for the taping of Season 14’s Top 24 performances in Detroit (airing tonight and Thursday, 8/7c on Fox) — and she’s sounding sunnier than an uptempo Jackson 5 jam.

When Shelley and Nici said they drove around Morocco aimlessly for three hours onThe Amazing Race, it was no exaggeration. "We ended up lost for four, so we undersold it," Shelley tells TVGuide.com. "We knew we were going home. The only way we would've survived is if there was a non-elimination, but they had just had one." The mother-daughter bid farewell under much quieter circumstances than their massive Pit Stop blow-up two legs prior and followed Keith and Whitney out, just one leg after their mat spat. See what else Shelley had to say about their final leg — which she hasn't watched — why they didn't purposely target Keith and Whitney for the U-Turn last week and if Nici, who was unavailable for this interview, peed during any other tasks.

Last week "The Amazing Race" castoffs Keith and Whitney told Gold Derby that Shelley and Nici "made no strategic sense" in using the U-Turn against them. When we sat down with Shelley following her "Amazing Race" exit, we asked her about that controversial decision that cost Keith and Whitney their game. (Nici was going to join us, but like a true "Amazing Race" player she got stuck on a plane.) "Everyone seems to think that the smarter strategic choice would have been to U-Turn the dentists [Misti and Jim]. But from our point of view, there was no point or benefit to U-Turning a team if you're not sure where they are," Shelley explained. "You only get one. You need it to count. Last time on The Amazing Race, Keith Tollefson and his fianc??e Whitney Duncan, were accused of playing dirty by mother and daughter duo, Shelley and Nici Porter. What was the issue? Keith waited in line to receive a clue without his team mate by his side, which is against the rules. This outraged Shelley and Nici, who were both there. Keith refused to move, and a new feud was born!

I missed the monkey in Friday (October 24) night's episode of "The Amazing Race." Before the episode, Phil Keoghan tweeted a picture with a money, so I was excited for a monkey, but rather than being a heavily featured monkey, there was apparently just a single monkey on a leash and I missed him. I caught the monkey in the odd Prego commercial that aired after the episode, but I sat in disappointment not noticing the Moroccan monkey who apparently appeared. Sigh. So Friday night was one big disappointment for me. That's not entirely the fault of the "Amazing Race" episode, mind you. There was a good Detour and a nicely chaotic Roadblock, but is anybody else feeling like this season is slowly devolving into a mixture of unlikable teams and boring teams? I like Bethany & Adam and I think I can root for them until they do something to piss me off.

Once they got it, they had to complete the "Cart It Out" challenge, which had them carting a whole bunch of supplies to the right location and setting up a restaurant food cart in order to get their next clue. Meanwhile, Misti & Jim had to complete a special "Speed Bump" challenge for showing up last in the previous leg, in order to rejoin the main race. "Bad directions are worse than no directions." Those words of wisdom came from the Boston firefighter I believe was Mike during Friday (October 10) night's episode of "The Amazing Race." There's the usual litany of things we/I always tell "Amazing Race" contestants to do: Learn to drive stick. Make sure you can swim. Read the freaking clue. Etc. Mike's piece of advice is a good one and one that should be added to the permanent list. But maybe it should be amended somewhat. Yes, bad directions are worse than no directions, but a better phrasing might be: If you ask stupid people for directions you'll get bad directions. Because Friday's "Amazing Race" Leg didn't really come down to "bad directions" at all. The eliminated team got perfectly acceptable directions that just happened to lead them to a ridiculous place that had no connection to the desired destination. Oh well. More from Friday's Leg,...

[This recap of Friday (October 3) night's "The Amazing Race" may be a bit rushed. I've got some Yom Kippur atoning to do. Nobody has ever made the same claim about "The Amazing Race." In actuality, there's a lot of crying on "The Amazing Race." And I'm not entirely without understanding. Let's say you're an "Amazing Race" superfan and you've actually taken the time to study Race strategy and accumulate some of the skills that normally pay dividends and then you find yourself actually on "The Amazing Race" and in only your second Leg, you find yourself falling victim to a semi-unavoidable combination of current and lack of upper-body strength? It's going to take a while before this feels normal, isn't it? Friday (September 28) marked a new time period premiere for "The Amazing Race," which kicked off its 25th installment far from the Sunday 8 p.m. home in which viewers have become accustomed to football/golf/basketball delays throughout the year. That means that instead of having Sunday come to an abrupt end in the late afternoon as I wait for "The Amazing Race" to start, a normal Friday workday just never ends. So... Yay! I say it every year, but there's just not enough time in a single hour to properly introduce a full assortment of reality show contestants and also deliver satisfactory and fun challenges. As reality TV approaches its 15th year of post-Real World maturity, the genre has a wide range of programs, from the stupid and scripted to the artful and insightful. Amid the clutter--this fall will see many new and returning reality TV shows on cable and broadcast--there are many highlights. Here are six things worth watching. Survivor and Amazing Race swap players and twists "Survivor" (Sept. 24) is on a streak: there's been season after season of solid, unpredictable game play along with a continued commitment to high-quality storytelling and production. Executive producer and host Jeff Probst, and the network, will try to keep that streak going by returning to last fall's Blood vs. Water format, which worked well, and by ditching the mostly loathed Redemption Island and replacing it with Exile Island. But they've also made some questionable casting decisions. John Rocker, the former baseball player best known for his bigoted ranting,...

Another day, another CBS reality show cast announcement, as "The Amazing Race" has revealed the 11 teams competing in the upcoming season. Thursday's (August 28) cast announcement was rather different from CBS' Wednesday unveiling of the latest "Survivor" cast, which includes controversy-inflaming former Major Leaguer John Rocker and former "Amazing Race" veterans Nadiya and Natalie Anderson. CBS actually announced the 11 "Amazing Race" teams back at the end of May, when a very public starting line in the heart of Times Square required some measure of early transparency lest social media spoil all the secrets ahead of time. So we already know that "Soul Surfer" hero Bethany Hamilton and husband Adam Dirks are in the cast, as are Robbie E. Strauss and Brooke Adams, who I'm told I'd know if I paid more attention to wrestling. The cast also includes Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson, who I only vaguely remember from their runs on "Survivor: South Pacific.

A one-armed surfer and a Survivor couple are among the cast members of The Amazing Race 25, which will feature yet another new twist.
Fall TV: Hot scoop on returning shows
Surfing champ Bethany Hamilton, whose left arm was bitten off by a shark in 2003, will globe-trot with her husband, Adam Dirks. Survivor: South Pacific alums Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan, who got married after the Race, will aim to do better than previous Survivor-turned-Race pairs Rob and Amber, who finished second and eighth on Seasons 7 and 11, respectively; and Ethan and Jenna, who finished 10th on Season 19.

While the second "Blood vs. Water" cast for "Survivor" doesn't feature any returning castaways, that doesn't mean that the group is devoid of familiar faces. CBS announced the new "Survivor" cast on Wednesday (August 27) morning and, to put it politely, notoriety abounds. For sports fans, the biggest name in the "Survivor" cast is likely to be John Rocker. The complimentary interpretation of Rocker's career is that he had one wildly successful year as closer for the Atlanta Braves, saving 38 games in 1999 to finish fourth in the league, while striking out 104 batters in only 72 innings. Of course, the next year Rocker was demoted to the minors after threatening a Sports Illustrated reporter who wrote a 1999 piece in which Rocker went on a lengthy homophobic, xenophobic and racist rant that involved New Yorkers as well as former teammates. Rocker has continued to be controversial in the years since his baseball career melted down,...

Bucking years of delayed gratification and withholding, CBS and "The Amazing Race" announced the show's Season 25 cast on Saturday (May 31) morning, just hours after the contestants left the starting line in New York City. In recent years, it has become an annual tradition for "Amazing Race" enthusiasts to be able to cobble together the identities of between 85 and 100 percent of the teams based on purloined cell phone pictures snapped from airports and outside challenges around the globe, images that were then matched with cryptic tweets and obscure Facebook status updates to the point of near-certainty. Despite those reports, though, CBS reliably waited until weeks before premiere for a full, formal casting announcement. The reason for the Season 25 deviation is simple: Rather than picking a starting line in a remote location or at a controllable venue like a stadium, the 11 participating teams left Times Square earlier this morning from the civilian-packed...

Dancing With the Stars kicked off its 18th season Monday night, introducing the 12 new partnerships, Brooke Burke replacement Erin Andrews and a number of other changes designed to keep the dancing show fresh.
Dancing With The Stars Recap
First to hit the dance floor was Real Housewives of Atlanta star, actress and author NeNe Leakes and her pro partner Tony Dovolani. Leakes and Dovolani danced a cha cha in which the former’s vivacious personality was front and center. “You have so much to give; we’re just scratching the surface,” said judge Carrie Ann Inaba after the routine. Score: 21
Next up to make his Dancing With the Stars debut was Big Time Rush singer James Maslow. When he entered the rehearsal studio, he was met with a surprised Peeta Murgatroyd, with whom he appears to have gone on a date back in February. Dancing the foxtrot, the twosome showed...

A Tennessee man has been arrested for the 2011 kidnapping and murder of 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo, a cousin of country music star Whitney Duncan.
Man Charged With Holly Bobo's Murder
Zachary Adams, 29, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping, reported Fox News. It’s believed that Adams took Bobo from her home in Decatur County in April of 2011 against her will and subsequently murdered her.
When the murder charge was read out for Adams, Bobo’s family had to face the reality that law enforcement was operating under the belief that Bobo is no longer alive. As recently as December 2013, the family had posted wanted flyers that offered a $250,000 reward for any information in regard to Bobo's kidnapping, according to the New York Daily News.
Bobo was last seen in April 2011, when her brother watched as she walked through the woods behind their home with an unknown man wearing camouflaged pants.

TLC's popular bridal reality show "Say Yes to the Dress" returns Friday (Feb. 21) with back-to-back new episodes for its Season 11 premiere, which features a cameo by new "Late Night" host Seth Meyers.
In the premiere episode, Shealynn, an Army medic who was injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, gets a special treat during her wedding dress hunt when Meyers drops by her appointment at famed Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. Watch a clip above.
The second episode in the "Syttd" double-header features two brides from opposite ends of the earth. One has flown 4000 miles from Alaska, while the other has traveled across the Atlantic Ocean from Norway, both in search of their dream wedding gowns.
Season 11 promises all sorts of fun guest stars, from Wnba player Kia Vaughn (who, as you can imagine, needs a very long dress) to country sing and former "Survivor" castaway Whitney Duncan.
