Eminem was there to walk his eldest daughter, Alaina Scott, down the aisle, despite not being in any of the snaps shared online.
Scott spoke to People about her special day after she tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Matt Moeller in a “Great Gatsby glam” themed ceremony on June 9.
“I had an 80-ft long black and white checkered aisle and my dad walked me down the aisle,” Scott told the magazine. “He wasn’t going to miss that.”

One of Eminem’s three children is officially married.
The rapper’s eldest, Alaina Scott, tied the knot with Matt Moeller last week in Detroit, Michigan. The couple had an outdoor wedding and celebrated their nuptials with 125 of their closest friends and family.
“June 9, 2023 simply one of the best days of my life,” Scott, 30, captioned a series of photos from the special day on Instagram, including a stunning snapshot of the newlyweds kissing on a rooftop, one of them sharing a sweet embrace while posing in front of a vintage car, a close-up of their wedding rings, a pic of their first dance, and more.

Last week, the "American Idol" Top 24 performed over two chaotically edited nights. This week, we're going to apparently be eliminating eight people, while also showcasing eight performances per night leading up to eliminations next week. And Aretha Franklin's going to be involved in some way. Click through and follow along! 7:59 p.m. Et. Per Ryan Seacrest's twitter, eight guys will get called to perform. If you don't get called, you're eliminated. This is, of course, utterly vicious to the last few performers, who will be stressed out balls of adrenaline. But who cares! 8:00 p.m. Oh Snap! It's Aretha! She's doing "I Will Survive." A couple years ago, we were really concerned about Aretha's health and it seemed like we might not have her for long, but she looks and sounds spectacular. What an absolutely terrific turn of events. I'm just plain happy. 8:03 p.m.

It's time for one of those filler episodes of "American Idol" -- the contestants remaining after Hollywood Week are made to take the longest elevator ride of their lives and then sit in the dreaded singular chair as the judges start the selection process on the Top 30.
At least when most singers either ride the elevator or are waiting for their judgment, we are treated to a performance from Hollywood that we may have not seen yet.
Highlights (and lowlights) include:
Emily Piriz singing and playing the piano on "Stars" by Grace Potter. Absolutely gorgeous. Thankfully, she is chosen for the Top 30.An original song by Spencer Lloyd is perhaps a misstep, but the judges still select him -- and of course they do, because he's a good singer and super attractive.Madelyn Patterson is the first person the show says goodbye to, which is too bad. Belle & Sebastian lead singer Stuart Murdoch’s first feature film, God Help The Girl, is a musical with an indie rock soundtrack, so comparisons to another Sundance breakout – the 2007 Glen Hansard musical Once – are only natural. But in fact, Murdoch’s film has been in the works since before Once was even a glimmer in Dublin’s eye. Back in 2003, Murdoch started work on a song that came to him during a morning run. In between working on three Belle & Sebastian records and touring with the band, Murdoch began working on a series of songs that were released as a...

Look at these dudes. Three pleasant, symmetrical rascals with gay posture who just wanted to impress mentor Smokey Robinson with their dotty croquet uniforms, conjure some soul on Motown/Detroit night, and look like they belong on American Idol. Did they succeed? Ahahaha. If the goal was to deepen the tracks of Smokey Robinson's tears by making him Weep Uncontrollably, then yes. Otherwise, they don't fare so well in this week's rankings.
Here they are, the eight remaining Idol contestants' performances from Motown Night ranked #8-1.
8. Lazaro Arbos, "For Once In My Life"
At least Lazaro knows I'm mad at him, otherwise why would he wear greaser attire and slick his hair like the hot prostitute from A Single Man? I'm drawing a blank. Meet me in the parking lot, buddy!

It's Detroit night on "American Idol," which is a great theme. However, so was the Beatles and we all know how that turned out. It's interesting that it's not limited to Motown -- so should we expect some Kid Rock and Eminem, then?
Smokey Robinson is the mentor this week. He's fantastic, though dude needs to lay off the nips and tucks. Also, Smokey always takes us back to this nightmare fuel from our childhood. Totally scared the crap out of us.
1. Candice Glover, "Heard it Through the Grapevine," Marvin Gaye
She's putting a bluesy spin on a very iconic Motown song, so hopefully it works. The opening few bars are fantastic -- the saxophone and her big, throaty voice. Then when the tempo kicks up, it's just very .... cool. Just smooth and hep cat and sexy, we love the way she effortlessly goes up into her upper register at moments.

Who knew that in the ancient Mayan calendar, they would have predicted so much that pointed to the end of the world? Like the exact date that Lindsay Lohan's horrendous Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick" would air on Lifetime? That Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj's egos would collide during "American Idol" auditions? That Donald Trump would act even more bizarrely than he did in 2011? And that Brad Pitt was even making a Chanel ad?
Seeing all that in their crystal ball, it's understandable that the Mayans would have predicted doomsday in 2012. Little did they know that these celeb antics just pointed to yet another year in La-La Land.
Here are just a smattering of the things that made us want to cover Blue Ivy's young eyes in 2012:

Stevie Nicks is an angry gypsy queen! Stevie may have been a guest mentor for last season's American Idol contestants but the 64-year-old icon says she is glad she isn’t involved this year due to trash-talking Nicki Minaj. In an interview with The Daily, The Fleetwood Mac singer had some pretty harsh word about Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj’s recent dustup, saying, "How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there." Whoa, the ethereal songbird’s talons are out! Stevie, are you trying to subtly tell us you don’t like Nicki Minaj? Because if you are, I am definitely picking up what you are putting down.

Robert Pattinson awoke to news that he was to play the role of abtacular Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, which he knew nothing about. So he called his agent who told him "[My agent] was like no one's going to offer you that part. I was like, thanks for the reassurance."
The earliest known panda fossils have been found in Spain, of all places. I have a fondness for all things panda, as they were my elementary school mascot. This little guy is a member of Ailuropodinae subfamily, which modern pandas are the only living member of. He was tiny, only about 130lbs. Can you imagine having a house pet sized panda?

Though Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez will surely super-sing and hyper-emote their way through tonight's Top 2 performance show, American Idol's eleventh season has already left a trail of thoroughly professional, if not legendary performances. Fortunately, we''ve counted up the 11 that really, really ruled, and I'll tell you a secret: The top two performances on this list may be the two best in the history of the series -- aside from my darling Melinda Doolittle's "My Funny Valentine," of course. They're an astonishing pair of clips, and I hope reality competition scientists study them with microscopes and applause for decades.
Let's count down the 11 best, kids! Hurl your dissent in the comments, please.
11. DeAndre Brackensick, "Master Blaster"
The revisionism begins here, because I originally rated DeAndre's Stevie Wonder cover as a middle-of-the-pack entry that week. What was I thinking? This 1980 Stevie jam is such a weird, boppy, hokey, reggae,...

It’s a tough week to predict who’s going home on American Idol – unless, of course, you’re Randy Jackson. Asked by Ryan Seacrest at the close of Top 8 performance night who was worthy of viewer votes, the “third judge” rattled off the names of Skylar, DeAndre, Phillip, Joshua, Jessica, and Colton — in other words, everyone except Elise and Hollie.
But I can’t be too upset with Randy. It’s not like he pulled a basket of rotting rutabagas out from under the judges’ table and began hurling them at the competition’s two remaining blonde gals. And what’s more,...

Spoiler Alert: Don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happened on Tiny Teens! After a results show featuring hip hop’s It girl Nicki Minaj, season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, and Ryan Seacrest’s garnet pocket square, the judges deliberated on whether they should use their one Save of season 11.
Their decision: Heejun Han was eliminated after singing for his life (Donnie Hathaway’s “A Song for You,” which he also performed Wednesday night).
Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine joined Heejun in the bottom two and three, respectively.
No save yet!

Watching this week’s American Idol performance show was like going to a four-star restaurant for an incredible multi-course meal (under the watchful eye of head chef Stevie Nicks) only to get pestered by the Three Busboys of the Apocalypse to fill up on the stuff jangling around in their white paper McDonald’s bags: “Yes, yes, the Maine Peekytoe Crab with maroon carrot, volcanic garlic, and pickled carrot sorbet looks sublime, but this McRib with a side of McNuggets is what’s going to bring you to your feet with ecstacy!” Say what now?

Last week, we watched as the American Idol contestants took on songs from the Billy Joel songbook. This week, the Top 9 tackle the songs of their idols, which includes a range of songs from Lifehouse to Led Zeppelin.
Ryan issues the proclamation to start: "May the odds be ever in your favor," and suddenly I'm imagining the contestants going at it Capitol-style, which is way more interesting than tonight's show turned out to be. In the dome, as on the stage, my money would still be on Phillip Phillips since he's a country boy. And country boys can survive, right?
Colton Dixon is up first singing one of my favorite Lifehouse songs--"Everything." Stevie Nicks says this song "goes into the heart of woman." As much as I'm a Colton fan, and as much as I truly love this song, this wasn't my favorite performance of his. It was kind...

Stevie Nicks is the "American Idol" guest mentor for the Top 9, which is seriously awesome. Diddy schmiddy. Stevie Nicks rules.
The theme is sing anything we have the rights to songs by their personal idols, so that should go significantly better than Billy Joel week, which was a bit of a trainwreck save for a couple performances. Theoretically.
We find out that tonight the stars are not only performing solos, but they are performing in trios as well. Oh, that should be interesting. Hmm. Do you think the show has very clearly put them in trios based on who's better and who are the people they don't care about as much?
1. Colton Dixon, "Everything," Lifehouse
Colton whips out the church talk this week. We've read things online about how people think that will hurt him, but we disagree. Faith talk seems like it will only help with the voting demographic of this show.

Phillip Phillips rings like a bell through the night. And wouldn’t you love to love him?
Stevie Nicks would. This week’s American Idol mentor (I know!!!) told the 21-year-old from Leesbug, Georgia, that if he had been friends with her and Lindsey Buckingham in 1975, “Mick Fleetwood would have said, ‘I want all three of you to join Fleetwood Mac.’ No doubt in my mind, because you’re that good.”
“And last, but not least, he’s gorgeous,” she added.

The "American Idol" Top 9 might be a very diverse group of singers with different outlooks on life, but they can all agree on one thing: Stevie Nicks is the best mentor they've ever had.
"She was amazing," gushes Jessica Sanchez.
DeAndre Brackensick agrees. "My favorite mentor ever," he tells Zap2it. "She came so prepared. She stayed up until like 4:00 in the morning the night before listening to all of our songs. She helped us be an artist not a product, which is what I really loved. She focused on what we wanted. I loved her."
Skylar Laine also appreciates the helpful advice Nicks gave. "Stevie was awesome. She did her homework. She came in and said 'I spent two hours last night listening to your songs and I still listened to them on the way here this morning.' I was like 'Dang.' No other mentor has said that to us.

Tonight marks American Idol's 400th episode. Mary J. Blige is stopping in to mentor our contestants. The ladies will be paying tribute to the late Whitney Houston and the guys will sing the songs of Stevie Wonder.
Because guys can't sing Whitney and girls can't sing Stevie, I guess?
In a surprise twist, Ryan reveals that producers are making this a competition between the guys and girls. Sort of. I mean, it's already a competition between the guys and girls, right?
What Ryan means is that the judges will have the final say in tomorrow night's elimination and they'll be choosing between the guy and girl who receive the fewest votes.
Now that the twist has been revealed, let's get to the performances.
"Mantasia," Josh Ledet, leads us off tonight. Mary says Joshua can blow it out as long as he doesn't hold back. (Uhhh...yep. That'd make sense,...

Now, we're truly down to business on "American Idol." Yeah, we got live performances last week and America got to vote and all of that good stuff, but Wednesday (March 7) is when things can really get serious. How do I know that? Well, HitFix's "American Idol" Predictions Game is up and running. And that's serious. Anyway, Wednesday's episode finds our Top 13 singing songs from Stevie Wonder (if the contestants have male genitalia) and Whitney Houston (if the contestants have female genitalia). And what if a man wanted to sing Whitney? No! And if a woman wanted to sing Stevie?...

No matter what Phillip Phillips and Colton Dixon say during our interview of the two Top 13 "American Idol" contestants, we're pretty sure they're friends. They insist they're not close -- and Phil even fake punches Colton in the face -- but something tells us they really do get along.
Zap2it spoke with the two singers ahead of their first official "Idol" finalist performance night, and they had quite a bit to say about covering Stevie Wonder, being thrust into the spotlight and actually just a lot on thrusting in general.
This is a weird situation you guys have been thrust into, how are you dealing?
Phillip Phillips: It was a big thrust. A weird, fast thrust. I'm so tired. But it's been fun. We've had to make fun out of the thrust.
Any thoughts on thrusting, Colton?
Colton Dixon: Yeah, I'm going to get off the thrusting for a second.

We've come to the point in my Voice recaps where I admit that I'm tone-deaf. So tone-deaf. Almost aggressively tone-deaf. When Christina Aguilera gargles up a compliment like, "It was really the tone in your voice I was attracted to," I literally believe she's talking about nothing. (She's usually talking about nothing, which makes it confusing.) She's actually talking about something I can't hear, but I believe that gives me an advantage over her: I can tell you what the average, below-average American hears in these contenders. We'll call that a gift.
Anyway, The Voice breezed through more than a dozen auditioners last night. It was so hard to like many of them. Let's give 'em all letter grades and shoot this two-hour fiasco off a cliff.

Season 11 contestant is a mash-up of every male winner in show's history.

Phillip Phillips on American Idol's season premiere

Last night's 14-hour "American Idol" premiere presented the usual suspects of hopefuls. To paraphrase judge (and hideous eyewear collector) Randy Jackson at the end of the Savannah, Georgia, trip, "We came, we saw, we mocked immigrants' accents, we patronized and lusted after hot girls, we competently read off of producers' notes, we conquered."
Then, just as the expected parade of planted craycrays and daughters of athletes wrapped up, "Idol" introduced its eventual season 11 winner, Phillip Phillips.
First let's talk his name. It's so ridiculous, it's awesome. You'll never forget it. Not to get all numerologist on you, but for season 11, a digit comprised of "one" repeated twice, a name like Phillip Phillips is destined to end up on top. At least he is in a pretentious overwritten novel.

Given that her whole shtick centers around shocking visuals, it strikes us as a little odd that Lady Gaga will mentor American Idol contestants for the May 11 show. “Next week, @LadyGaga will mentor top 4 who perform songs by Leiber & Stoller,” the official American Idol Twitter confirmed. Don’t get us wrong; the only thing that could inject life into another saccharine rendition of “Stand By Me” would be a biker dance number or a divalicious stoning. However, unless Haley Reinhart is going to smear lipstick on Steven Tyler‘s face with a golden prop gun while she sings “Hound Dog,” we don’t really see the point of bringing in Gaga based on vocals alone.
That being said, it isn’t the first time Mother Monster has graced the AI stage, and it certainly won’t be the last. Seems like it’s all part of the countdown for her new album Born This Way,...

It's time to dust off the bustier, slide into some velvet and sew on some sequins! In news that will make music fans from several generations very, very happy indeed, it's been reported that both Lady Gaga and Stevie Nicks will perform on the 'American Idol' season finale later this month.
According to Perez Hilton, the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter will take to the 'Idol' stage for what promises to be an epic performance.
There's been no word yet if we'll get to see a Stevie-Gaga duet, but it's likely that many minds will be blown by just the possibility of such a spectacular hook-up.
And that's not all Lady Gaga will be doing on 'Idol.' According to host Ryan Seacrest, the 'Born This Way' singer will be next week's mentor.

If Haley Reinhart had an ounce of anxiety going into Thursday night’s American Idol results-show telecast, it must have dissipated as quickly and completely as constructive advice from Steven Tyler’s tongue by the time the first commercial break arrived. Indeed, right at the outset of the episode, stark messages blared across the screen (“No one is safe!” “Expect the unexpected!”) that all but guaranteed Haley — who’d been a bottom-three dweller for the first two weeks of the season 10 finals — wouldn’t be spending another night in the fantasy suite with her old suitor, the Silver Stool of Doom.

American Idol fans, behold the great power of “Motown Night”! I don’t know exactly how the show played on television because I was inside the Idoldome, watching live from my not-so-comfy perch in row 6, but the Supremes-, Stevie-, and Smokey-infused night was surely one to remember from inside the belly of the beast out here in Hollywood. After last week’s somewhat of a letdown performance episode that found many of our beloved contestants (I’m really not being facetious, trusies!) hitting sour notes, this week couldn’t have been more brilliantly upbeat, fun, and — yes! — totally engaging.

There was a time when a Motown-themed evening was an "American Idol" institution. Kelly Clarkson delivered such a dizzying take on Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "You're All I Need to Get By" in season one that a bewildered Simon Cowell tried on a Southern accent and told her, "As they say in Texas, y'all did a great job!" Ruben Studdard soared with the Four Tops the next year, and then Fantasia, also trying on a Gaye tune, wowed the judges on her way to the title.
Future seasons would ditch Motown as a whole for specific artists like Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross, but there remains a vast trove of "Idol" history for singers to mine as both cautionary tales and I-hope-i-can-sound-so-damn-good aspirations.

The songs have been selected. The cheap leftover prom dresses? Chosen. The new director has pre-loaded all of his favorite wilderness graphics. This is "American Idol X: When Teenage Girls Find Out They're Not God's Gift To Music."
The theme for Wednesday night's (March 9) Top 13 show: "Personal Idols." They included a man who was tried (and acquitted) for peeing on a 13-year-old, a famous adulterer and a dude who once uploaded eight free albums from kooky alter egos with song titles as varied as "Get Scared, Throw Up, Die," "Drunk as a Pile of F---" and "Passed Out In AA – F---." Perhaps producers should have added the word "musical" in the theme's title, because I seriously doubt Thia Megia's manufacturers programmed her to adopt a chimp and hang out with Webster.
Before I go on a rant about how five out of the 13 contestants chose songs that were covered on season nine's dreary stage,...
