Wouldn’t surprise me if it does pan out, with the wealth of graphic novel adaptations planned in coming years (read my post on the dying “original screenplay” Here).
According to Comics2Film at Mania.com, actor/director/producer Denzel Washington is interested in adapting Zapt!, a graphic novel about a kid named Armand Jones, described as an ordinary boy who gets drafted into an intergalactic police force, and has to deal with the the day-to-day hassles of school teachers, homework, and bullies, knowing that at any moment he may get drafted for space duty. The Pangalactic Order of Police (or P.O.O.P.) employs kids because their instinctive nature makes it easier for them to master the alien technology that makes them superheroes.
I know nothing about this graphic novel; never even heard of it! According to Amazon.com, it’s a kiddie book, aimed at children aged 9 – 12 years old.
