Corrected: UK financier and actor found not guilty of harassment.
Michael Coleman, a financier and actor who made a number of abusive calls to staff at UK production company Revolver and CEO Justin Marciano, was today found not guilty of harassment by a judge at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court.
Marciano was not present in court.
The judge declined the prosecution’s request for an adjournment and said there was not enough evidence to grant a restraining order against Coleman, who had both invested and appeared in a handful of Revolver features including Sket and Bonded By Blood.
Coleman was charged with harassment by police in January 2013 and the criminal prosection was brought by the Cps.
The court heard from the prosecution how Coleman sent a number of abusive messages to Marciano and Revolver staff demanding re-payment of thousands of pounds he and other financiers claimed were owed after investing in films produced under Revolver’s Gunslinger banner.

Some casting details are coming in for Plan B's (Ben Drew) hip-hop musical Ill Manors. Mem Ferda has been attached to this production as the villain Vladimir, who lives a tough life on the streets of East London. These tough times are taken out on the character Katya (Natalie Press), who plays a prostitute. Ferda changed physically for this role by weightlifing and having several temporary tattoos applied to his skin. The original graphics can be seen left. Other characters had to transform for their roles to play those down on their luck and also starring are Riz Ahmed, Martin Serene, and Anouska Mond.
Others might know Plan B based on his musical talents including his chart topping album "The Defamation of Strickland Banks." Ill Manors will have a hip-hop musical vibe that will set the vicious tone for the film, with Plan B co-producing several new tracks for this film.

Few in the UK film industry want to shout about it but the evidence is clear. We are enjoying a renaissance in domestic cinema. Andrew Pulver reports on how audiences developed a taste for homegrown movies
Compared to theatre, cinema is an entirely portable medium – think what our view of film would be like if all we saw were British movies, with occasional touring productions of foreign work. No Hollywood blockbusters, no Korean ultra-violence, no Iranian minimalism. Nothing old, either – no Italian neorealism, or Czech new wave, or French poetic realism. Imagine what life for the British filmgoer would have been like, say, in 1978 – the highlight of your year would probably have been Death on the Nile, or Watership Down. And let's not forget the dark days of 1999 and 2000, when this paper felt compelled to trash the jaw-dropping wave of terrible British films in the wake of the lottery-fund bonanza.

Exclusive: Los Angeles-based sales agent Im Global has made a multi-film commitment to take upcoming in-house productions from UK distributor Revolver Entertainment. The slate will go through Im Global’s Octane genre label. “We’re looking to create films that have the potential to travel internationally,” Revolver CEO Justin Marciano tells me. Gunslinger, Revolver’s in-house production arm, has two projects it is pushing forward on: Offender, directed by Ron Scalpello, which the company is pitching as a Brit version of A Prophet; and Lenny “The Guvnor” McClean (working title), based on the true story of a East End thug who became Britain’s most notorious bare-knuckle fighter. Revolver has already set a summer 2012 release for Offender, written by Paul Van Carter and produced by Nick Taussig of Revolver, which tells the story of a man who sets up his own imprisonment in order to avenge the rape of his girlfriend.

Blood feuds are as ancient as primordial human history. The Celts (Irish) have killed thousands throughout history. In Albania, 10,000 people have been killed in the last twenty years because of family or blood feuds. Now, Gunslinger, the production arm of Revolver Entertainment, will bring a family feud to East London. When Tanya (Kate Foster-Burns) is killed, Kayla must retaliate for her sister's murder the only way she knows how, by joining an all girl gang. The gang leader Danielle (Emma Hartley-Miller) vows to get vengeance on an opposing gang: "we'll be like them," which leads to even more violence.
The first trailer for Sket is here and the clip is mature rated because of violence and other adult material. As well, Gunslinger continues to create these gang styled thrillers often set in East London e.g. Shank, which just seem to highlight gang violence. Also, the material here seems to...

London -- Indie distributor Revolver Entertainment has snapped U.K. rights to Heitor Dhalia's "Adrift" and Jim Jarmursh's "The Limits of Control" in double whammy deal with Focus Features.
The deals for both films follow on the heels of Revolver's deal with Focus to distribute Cary Joji Fukunaga's "Sin Nombre" here in the U.K.
Revolver CEO Justin Marciano said: "We're glad to again be the trusted partner in the U.K. for Focus Features on two such powerful pieces of cinema."
Set on Brazil's Buzios beaches in the early 1980s, "Adrift" tells the story of a girl's coming of age one glorious summer.
Jarmusch's latest offering is billed as a poetic, allusive, stunning offbeat variation on the conventional hit man movie, with Isaach De Bankole heading a cast that includes Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Gael Garcia Bernal, Paz de la Huerta and Bill Murray.

London -- U.K. indie distributor Revolver is setting up a standalone movie development and production arm named Gunslinger, the company said Monday.
Revolver managing director Justin Marciano said the move will fuel company ambitions to develop, finance and produce movies for its own distribution pipe.
Marciano said the company would look to recruit a team of production and development execs for the standalone.
Gunslinger has a number of projects in development and also has urban music maker Mo Ali's directorial debut "Shank" shooting now in the British capital.
Written by Carter, who is also producing alongside Revolver's Nick Taussig, "Shank" is set against a future London where food has replaced drugs and guns as the must have commodity.
"We have been quietly developing film projects for some time now," said Marciano. "Gunslinger allows us to do what many others in the industry can't -- by being in constant contact with the marketplace,...

Revolver pulls trigger on Pan Macmillan pact
LONDON -- U.K.-based independent distributor Revolver Entertainment has turned the page with publishing giant Pan Macmillan on a three-year film release and book tie-in.
The pact will kick off with Revolver's upcoming movie release "My Brother Is an Only Child", directed by Daniele Luchetti.
Based on the book "Il fasciocomunista" by Antonio Pennacchi, the movie and novel will be simultaneously released in cinemas and in bookstores April 4, the parties said.
Coordination between the film industry and the publishing world has traditionally been a tricky one, with publishers requiring a six-month lead time before releasing titles to the market while struggling to synchronize with a film's release plan.
But the deal offers both companies the opportunity to fully exploit marketing across their sectors. It will be executed on a case-by-case basis, the parties said, with as many as 30 titles by the end of the three year period.
"This new partnership will allow us to call on Pan Macmillan's extensive knowledge and contacts with booksellers," Revolver Entertainment chief Justin Marciano said.
