Vinh Diep was born in the village of Tuy Hoa, Vietnam in the summer of
1978. Shortly after he was born, his family started the journey to
their new home after the Northern Vietnamese Army had taken over all of
Vietnam after the fall of 1975. It was the fall of 1978 when they
parted Vietnam and journeyed with thousands of refugees to Hong Kong.
Vinh had nearly died in Hong Kong were he was hospitalized for many
months. He and his family eventually ended up in Muskogee, a small
Oklahoma town where he grew up and where he would eventually call his
home town. Growing up wasn't very easy for Vinh, he was always put up
on this high pedestal since he was the eldest of his generation of
grand children, and the first generation of Diep's in The United
States. He was expected to do his best at everything, while dealing
with indifference in culture and race.
Vinh was recognized in the eastern state of Oklahoma for his Martial Arts skills. He had trained in the Martial Arts at a very young age, and his skills quickly matched and went well beyond his peers. He was a quick learner and a perfectionist when it came the Martial Arts. He holds multiple black belts in various styles of Martial Arts and was an instructor for the children at the local YMCA in his home town in Oklahoma. Vinh left Oklahoma in 2000, and relocated to Dallas to pursue a career in engineering and photography. Vinh is a very artistic individual, he absolutely loved the arts in all shapes and form. For the past couple of years, he started getting into model and automotive photography. His progression in the two types of photography got him noticed in various magazines nationwide and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He had learned new techniques every time he pick up his cameras.
It had always been a dream of his to be an actor on the big screen. He was a big dreamer and had always wished to be side by side with such greats as Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Chow Yun Phat. He was stunned when Fifth Floor Pictures gave him the chance of a lifetime to play a character he was born to play.
