Sophie Clarke didn't win the most challenges on "Survivor: South Pacific." She wasn't hailed by the CBS promotional team with making the game's Biggest Move. She didn't give herself a bombastic nickname. She didn't cause drama at camp with her religious beliefs, nor did she start a showmance that set tabloid tongues wagging. All Sophie did was follow Rudyard Kipling's edict about keeping your head when all about you are losing theirs. She became the centerpiece of an alliance on Day One and while Albert skittered about contemplating switching things up and Coach prayed on how to...

Yes folks, it's that time of year: the biannual release of the new Survivor cast! As well, a number of twists have been revealed. Russell Hantz, thankfully, is not part of the cast, but his 19-yr old nephew is! Further, Hidden Immunity Idols will actually be more difficult to find this year. How? Well, the good folks at Survivor have hidden the clues to the Hii's! Lastly, in addition to the sixteen contestants you see above, two Survivor veterans (to be revealed later this week) will be joining them. Will the newbies, who likely watched the most recent season (and Boston Rob winning the whole thing) be smart enough to kick the veterans off early? Personally, I think it depends on how much of a fan favorite the returning players are, but we'll have to see.

Russell Hantz may not be part of the new season of Survivor…but his nephew is. 19-year-old Brandon Hantz is one of 16 new contestants that will be competing for the million dollars when Survivor: South Pacific kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 14 on CBS. Among the players joining him is a former Miss America contestant, a country music singer, a Lingerie Football League player, and a medical marijuana dispensary owner. However, these players will not just have to battle each other. They will also have to take on two returning players, whose names will be revealed later in the week.
