Cuong Ngo is a highly accomplished film director known for his creative vision and outstanding contributions to the film industry. He obtained his BFA - Honors in Performing Arts for Theatre & Film in 2002 and went on to complete his second degree in Film Production at York University in Toronto in 2009.
Throughout his career, Cuong Ngo has received numerous awards and recognition for his exceptional work. He won The Golden Kite Award in 2015 and the Next Generation Award for Vietnamese Innovation Visionary Award in Toronto in 2012. His works have also been featured in several prestigious international film festivals, including the San Francisco Film Festival and Shanghai International Film Festival's New Asian Talent award in June 2012.
Cuong Ngo's portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from short films, television commercials, documentaries, music videos, to feature films. Notable works include The Hitchhiker Project (2008) and The Golden Pin (2009), which won Best Canadian Short at the Toronto Inside Out Film & Video Festival and toured around the world for international film festivals. His feature film debut, Pearls of the Far East, received critical acclaim and won multiple awards before its theatrical release in Vietnam in March 2012. His second feature film, Rise (Huong Ga), was a massive box office hit in Vietnam.
In 2015, Cuong Ngo directed the comedy-action-fantasy film, The Lost Dragon, and in 2016, he directed Tracer (Truy Sat), an action crime film. His film The Kite Under The Rain was released in 2019, and his latest film, Destiny (2023), features Dan Nguyen.
Cuong Ngo splits his time between the United States, Canada, and Vietnam, where he continues to create groundbreaking works that inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
