Formosa Group executive vp Matt Dubin is “taking over operational responsibilities and reporting structure” previously held by founder and CEO Bob Rosenthal, who caught many by surprise when he resigned on March 31, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Dubin is a familiar face at the leading audio postproduction company, where he has worked since it was founded in 2013.
The company was contacted but declined to comment.
Bill Romeo, CEO of parent company Streamland Media, announced the news to staff on Monday, THR learned. “I am confident that Formosa Group will benefit from the dedication and leadership that Matt has demonstrated since the inception of the company and that Formosa Group will continue to thrive in his capable hands,” he wrote in a memo.
Also on Monday, Romeo announced that Tim Nett, one of the original partners and founders of Formosa Group and sister companies Picture Shop and Picture Head, has been named Streamland’s COO.

Art Machine, Trailer Park create big marketing platform
NEW YORK -- Trailer Park and Art Machine said Monday that they have merged to form what they described as the largest entertainment marketing services agency in Hollywood.
"We're creating the broadest, deepest platform of creative marketing services for the entertainment industry," Trailer Park COO Joel Johnston said. "Together, the capabilities of our two firms will allow us to deliver start-to-finish award-winning marketing services for our clients not only in print, theaters and on television but also via new distribution platforms, including online, cell phones and PDAs and other wireless devices."
Trailer Park CEO Tim Nett said Art Machine, one of the top creative print agencies in the business, fills Trailer Park's one major void of print advertising. He said the merged company will be the largest creative entertainment marketing agency in Hollywood in terms of number of campaigns, employees and services offered. The merger also should help protect against piracy by keeping all aspects of an entertainment company's marketing campaign secure with a single agency, he said.
