Decades after their fathers last collaborated, John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s sons have put out a new song. James McCartney and Sean Ono Lennon have brought back the famous Lennon-McCartney songwriting credit on “Primrose Hill,” their new single. Here’s what James McCartney — and his father — have said about the song.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s sons have a new song
In 2024, James McCartney released “Primrose Hill,” a song he co-wrote with Sean Ono Lennon.
“I had a vision as a child in Scotland, on what was a lovely summer’s day,” he wrote in a post on Instagram. “Letting go, I saw my true love and saviour in my mind’s eye. ‘Primrose Hill’ is about getting the ball rolling with me & finding this person.”

Both Sean and James have worked as solo artists for years, but “Primrose Hill” is their first collaboration.

In the 1970s, Pattie Boyd lived the unique experience of having two rock stars, George Harrison and Eric Clapton, fight over her. She married Harrison in 1966 and soon, Clapton began expressing interest in her. According to her, the two men were emotionally immature. They dealt with the complicated situation in the only way they knew: by having a guitar battle.
Pattie Boyd said George Harrison and Eric Clapton were immature
By the time The Beatles broke up, Boyd and Harrison’s relationship had reached a rough patch. He treated her coldly and was far more interested in his spiritual development than in their marriage.
“My diary is full of entries about my unhappiness and the disintegration of our relationship,” she wrote in her book Wonderful Tonight. “On July 24 it simply says, ‘Silence reigns and my cheeks get wet.’ I felt so helpless.”

When Paul McCartney began a relationship with Linda McCartney, all three other Beatles were married. Once people learned about their relationship, Linda began dealing with Beatles fans just as the other Beatles’ wives had. Fans gathered outside of McCartney’s London home every day and shouted at Linda when she walked past. Once, McCartney felt fans had gone too far. When he scolded them, though, they were completely unapologetic.
Paul McCartney was not happy to hear of how fans treated Linda McCartney
When McCartney began dating Linda, his most dedicated fans turned their ire on her. Fans waited outside his home and shouted at her. They left hateful graffiti on the fence and, on one occasion, threw dessert at her.
Linda returned to the house, and when she walked past the fans, someone threw a frozen chocolate dessert at her. Shortly afterward, McCartney came out of the house.

In the early 1960s, Paul McCartney began dating Iris Caldwell, a former girlfriend of George Harrison. Harrison had dated Caldwell briefly as a young teenager, so her relationship with McCartney was more mature and serious. Still, the couple fought often and broke up regularly. Every time they split, Caldwell could count on Harrison to come knocking on her door to ask her out.
George Harrison was interested in Paul McCartney’s girlfriend
In the two years McCartney and Caldwell dated, they got into many arguments. She found his desire to always be the center of attention exhausting, particularly because he often followed John Lennon’s lead.

In the 1960s, Mick Jagger moved in several doors down from The Beatles’ Ringo Starr. Jagger and Starr were members of two of the biggest bands of the era. Naturally, both of their presences drew fans. This became a problem for Jagger. When he and his girlfriend were leaving the house, a fan of Starr’s rushed forward and attacked.
Ringo Starr’s fans caused problems for Mick Jagger and his girlfriend
In the mid-1960s, Rolling Stones fans discovered that Jagger and Keith Richards were living together in Hampstead, an area in London. The constant presence of fans and the long-term relationships of both Jagger and Richards led them to decide it was time to move.
After bouncing around for a while, Jagger moved into the home of composer Lionel Bart. He moved in with his girlfriend, Chrissie Shrimpton.

Josephine Langford starrer The Other Zoey attempts to do with Zoey as 10 Things I Hate About You did with Kat. Over the years, we’ve seen many charming “not like other girls” characters play the protagonists of mediocre rom-coms and make them out to be more than they are. Zoey is one such character, but the terrible writing and strange pacing of this film fail to make it engaging. With a few changes, this film might have been the one that brought back the charm of old Hollywood rom-coms that everyone has been desperately missing for a long time now. The Other Zoey is a classic case of second-hand embarrassment that goes too far. The film follows genius Zoey Miller, who believes love is all about data and romance is a capitalist strategy. When the college soccer team captain, Zach, meets with an accident and wakes up with amnesia, he mistakes Zoey for his girlfriend.

As if paying penance for starring in all five “After” films to date — a series that’s been criticized for glamorizing toxic, controlling relationships à la “Twilight” and “50 Shades” before it — Josephine Langford now dallies on the decidedly wholesome side of romantic complication in “The Other Zoey.” This innocuous comedy, hinging on a gimmicky plot contrivance, doesn’t transcend formula even when it’s winking at the clichés it caves to. Still, it’s a pleasant enough diversion for those who want familiar genre beats sounded by the usual attractive actors in the customary attractive settings. That audience seems unlikely to stampede Brainstorm Media’s limited theatrical release on Friday, as this is exactly the sort of comfort-food fare one expects to stream at home — an option arriving November 10th.

New Delhi, Sep 21 (Ians) The trailer for actress Josephine Langford’s new rom-com film ‘The Other Zoey’, and is a fun and light-hearted teen-drama-romance-dramedy which shows the blooming of an accidental and unlikely romance.
The trailer follows the character of Zoey Miller (Langford), a super smart computer major who is completely uninterested in romance and is rather a snobby know-it-all.
A take on the stereotypical American portrayal of intellectual girls, Zoey has her life thrown upside down when Zach (Starkey), a typical popular college soccer player whom she has little interest in, and even a certain level of dislike, gets amnesia.
Initially, the two start off on completely wrong terms with Zack passing snarky and sarcastic remarks while Zoey takes a dig at his sarcasm and wisecracks. Both part ways with an instant dislike.
Things suddenly turn around when one day a car rams into Zack, leading him to becoming an amnesiac.

Yoko Ono fell in love with John Lennon, but she once said that Ringo Starr was the most influential member of the Beatles. In the years since she met Lennon, Ono has gotten to know Starr well. She asserted her belief that his influence had little to do with the music he created in the Beatles or his solo career. Instead, she pointed to a quality Starr had that Lennon often preached about.
Yoko Ono said Ringo Starr’s personality made him the most influential Beatle
In 2015, Starr became the final member of The Beatles to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. Ono, who has known Starr since the 1960s, attended the ceremony. She expressed her delight that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was finally honoring Starr’s solo career, telling Rolling Stone it meant “so much to all of us in the Beatle family.

By the end of the 1960s, John Lennon and Yoko Ono wanted to collaborate musically, and Lennon felt The Beatles were getting in the way. He would eventually tell his bandmates he wanted a divorce from them in 1969. He had been thinking about breaking up The Beatles for a while at this point. According to Let It Be director Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Lennon resorted to surprising measures to show he was ready to be done with the group.
John Lennon wanted to make it clear he would rather collaborate with Yoko Ono than The Beatles
Lennon had known his Beatles bandmates for years, but he felt a deeper connection with Ono. He wanted to continue to develop his music career with her, not necessarily with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. According to Lindsay-Hogg, Lennon had an eyebrow-raising way of conveying this. He played an audio tape of him and Ono having sex.

Beatles merchandise was everywhere in the 1960s. Fans could buy pins, record racks, mop-top wigs, magnetic hair decorating games, and even locks of the Fab Four’s hair. The band’s first recording is one of the most valuable albums around, but one rare Beatles record (or at least one associated with the Fab Four) trumps it, and we might never see the one-of-a-kind item ever again.
Frank Sinatra’s song for Ringo Starr’s wife might be the rarest Beatles record ever

British historian David Starkey made an appearance on a pre-Coronation broadcast on Gb News Thursday, where he claimed Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was not sufficiently “grounded” in British culture.
The disgraced historian made the claim after host Andrew Pierce appeared to suggest that Coronation efforts from the British government have been muted.
“The prime minister now has been, in my mind, detached or at least semi-detached, from this Coronation,” Pierce said.
In response, Starkey said: “I think one of the reasons that I think a lot has gone wrong, for example, why parliament has not been properly represented at the coronation of a parliamentary monarchy, is because the government isn’t interested in the constitution.”
Starkey continued to say that what he was claiming was a “difficult and controversial” topic, but he believes it is true, after adding: “The prime minister, the man of immense power, of extraordinary skill, but really,...

A decade together brought The Beatles more money than they could spend. They also made more than they seemed to know how to handle. The band received allowances but never carried cash on them. They weren’t sure how much money they were making, and one member of the band admitted he didn’t know what British currency looked like.

Ringo Starr and his eldest son, Zak Starkey, had a complicated relationship during Starkey’s upbringing. They fought often, and Starkey, who is also a drummer, resented being compared to his father. Their relationship has greatly improved over the years. It likely helped, at least in part, to see how similar they were, which Starkey proved with his marriage. Starr was so surprised to hear this that he nearly fainted.

Ringo Starr helped The Beatles chart a course toward stardom. The band needed a drummer who could handle studio work, and he was perfect for their needs. Happy to be the fourth wheel when he joined, Ringo eventually praised his drumming skills with the Fab Four. Geoff Emerick was nowhere close to praising the drummer when he worked on his solo debut. Emerick said Ringo was uptight all the time, but in the end, it doesn’t really matter.

The Beatles worked together to make some of the most enduring music of the twentieth century, but they didn’t do that without some fights along the way. The band met as young teenagers and spent most of their time together; arguments were bound to happen. There is, of course, the long-running feud between Paul McCartney and John Lennon and the court case after the band broke up. Some of their lesser-known fights were just as explosive, though. Somewhat surprisingly, George Harrison was at the center of many of them.

Before The Beatles were famous, they played in German nightclubs and had five members. Their one-time guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe was often the butt of the band’s jokes, and he frequently clashed with McCartney. During a concert, something McCartney said about Sutcliffe’s girlfriend led to a fistfight.

Each of The Beatles was married at least twice, and their ex-wives remained a part of their lives over the years. After their divorces, though, each of these women went on to build a life outside of their famous ex-husbands. Here’s what Cynthia Lennon, Maureen Starkey, Pattie Boyd, and Heather Mills did after their divorces, and where they are now.

John Lennon was the first of The Beatles to get married when he wed Cynthia Powell, his classmate at the Liverpool College of Art. She met Lennon in the late 1950s, when they were both enrolled in the school, and they began a relationship. They married in 1962, after Cynthia discovered she was pregnant.

Warning! This article contains spoilers for the Outer Banks season 3 finale.
By the time “Outer Banks” reached its season 3 finale last week, it felt like the characters may have traversed the whole world over. The beloved rebel Pogues spent most of this season jumping from island to island in the Caribbean, while Ward (Charles Esten) and his family escaped to Guadalupe. The groups eventually collided in their North Caroline home before pulling some strings to end up in South America by the season’s finale.
“Our showrunners have some really good imaginations,” Drew Starkey, who plays Rafe, told Et’s Cassie Dilaura about the finale’s twists and turns. “It’s exciting to see how the world’s going to hopefully expand.”
“Outer Banks” was renewed for season 4 shortly before the third season’s premiere.

Ringo Starr became known as the funny Beatle, but his first wife, Maureen Starkey, saw a much more vulnerable side to the drummer. The couple married in the midst of Beatlemania and remained together until 1975. In this time, Starkey said that her husband frequently asked for reassurance about their relationship. Still, she said Starr was mostly laid back and pleasant to be around.

Each of the Beatles had children, and, as with many celebrities, they found careers similar to their parents. While some have found success in other industries — notably fashion and photography — many of the Beatles’ children also became musicians. Here are the Beatles children who followed in their fathers’ footsteps.

John Lennon’s first child, and the firstborn Beatles child, Julian Lennon, began his music career in 1984, not long after his father’s death. His debut album, Valotte, found great success and earned him a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 1985.
Julian released several other albums, though Valotte remains his most successful. Like his father, he primarily sticks to the rock genre. He also tackled one of Lennon’s most famous songs in 2022. He had initially vowed to never cover “Imagine,” but with the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, he...

The first few seasons of “Outer Banks” were dumb fun — but is the amusement wearing thin? The start of Season 3 appears to suspect the viewer is as foolish as the Pogues, the pack of adventurous adolescent have-nots in the posh North Carolina beach community of the show’s title. Another season arrives with yet another elusive “Outer Banks” treasure hunt. Are we greyhounds chasing a mechanical Netflix rabbit, never to reach fruition?
When we last left the Pogues, the five-pack had improbably skirted death yet again by jumping off a freighter that was carrying Pope’s (Jonathan Daviss) priceless inheritance of a giant jeweled cross, as well as Sarah (Madelyn Cline)’s murderous family members, controlling dad Wade (Charles Esten) and sociopathic brother Rafe (Drew Starkey).

Ringo Starr’s son was banned from his local pub after they committed what was, in his eyes, an unforgivable sin. The offense? Playing a song by his father’s former band. Zak Starkey had a tenuous relationship with his father and detested comparisons drawn between the two of them. Surprisingly, all this proved was that Starkey was more like Starr than he might have thought.

Ringo Starr and his son, Zak Starkey, had a fraught relationship throughout Starkey’s youth. Starr admitted that he was often absent during his children’s upbringing, and Starkey, who is also a drummer, resented being compared to his famous father. Tensions between the two grew so unbearable that Starr eventually kicked his son out of the house.

Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey, followed in his footsteps and became a drummer. He’s played with several bands, including Oasis and The Who, and he now says he considers his father one of the greatest drummers of all time. He didn’t always feel this way, though. Starkey once said that while he appreciated Starr’s timekeeping skills, he didn’t think he was actually that talented of a musician.

The Pogues are back.
On Thursday evening, the cast and crew of Outer Banks gathered at Westwood’s Regency Village Theater for the show’s season three premiere. This season, the Pogues face yet another dangerous treasure hunt, and after spending the last two seasons looking for the lost Royal Merchant gold and the Cross of Santo Domingo, this season’s focus will be on El Dorado, the lost city of gold.
“It’s very overwhelming and so exciting,” Drew Starkey, who plays Rafe, told The Hollywood Reporter about reuniting with the cast for the premiere. “I’m shaking. It’s always great to get some familiar faces back together, and seeing everyone here is very humbling.”
“Chemistry is something that you can find, but to continue to facilitate and to nurture it is another thing, and I feel like this cast does that really well,” added Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron.

When Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey, began to work professionally as a drummer, people understandably made comparisons between him and his father. Though Starr is one of the most successful drummers in the world, Starkey resented the comparison. He wanted to make it as a musician in his own right, and he also didn’t think Starr was that good of a drummer. He didn’t even want to be mentioned in the same sentence as his father.

Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey, followed in his footsteps, becoming a drummer and playing for bands like Oasis and The Who. The “Fab Four” are also fathers, with each Beatles member getting married and having at least one child. When Ringo Starr has his first son with Mo Starkey, he chose a name that sounded “western” — even if he didn’t think it was a cowboy name.

The Beatles are still remembered as one of the greatest bands (if not the greatest) in rock music history. Sixty years after the Fab Four led the British invasion in America, songs created by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are still considered by many to be a musical gold standard that stands the test of time.
But while their music endures, there may be some things about the Beatles that you didn’t know (or that you forgot about). To catch you up on your Beatles trivia, here are 15 things you probably didn’t know about this legendary band.

"Nothing good comes easy, nothing worthy is given," John B (Chase Stokes) says in the teaser. "What are you willing to do to win? How far do you go to keep your treasure?...

The Pogues just can’t manage to stay out of trouble, as seen in the first trailer for Outer Banks season three.
The Netflix drama series’ upcoming third season, debuting Feb. 23, involves the underdog clique discovering that a peaceful life on their newfound desert paradise, nicknamed “Poguelandia,” won’t last long. With a coveted golden idol putting them back on the treasure hunt, the pals find themselves again on the run from Ward (Charles Esten) and Rafe (Drew Starkey), although the nefarious father-son pair seem to have friction of their own.
“Dad, I don’t need you anymore,” Rafe tells Ward in the new footage, which includes him pushing his dad up against a wall.

Warning: This interview contains spoilers for "Hellraiser."
Now on its 11th installment, the "Hellraiser" franchise has seen its fair share of interpretations and countless cast members -- including "Severance" and "Parks and Recreation" star Adam Scott, who appeared in 1996's "Hellraiser: Bloodline."
Director David Bruckner knew he was going to be swimming in some sacred waters when signing on to the new "Hellraiser," but some of the big creative swings he took resulted in some memorable characters that are welcome additions to the franchise's legacy. Jamie Clayton has been making waves as the first woman to perform the role of The Priest/Pinhead, and Odessa A'zion delivers a gut-wrenching portrayal as Riley, the protagonist who is forced to deal with interdimensional sex demons while also struggling with her own addiction issues.
While these two may be the faces of the "Hellraiser" marketing campaigns, the film also boasts a fantastic supporting...

So, we’re now officially a week into October. Ready for a spooky flick? Well most hardcore “horror hounds’ are game any time of the year, but this month is…special. And what better way to get “in the mood” than revisiting some iconic and shocking characters in a big reboot, though their creator calls this a “re-imagining”. Oh, and we’re not reaching back to the Universal icons of the 30s, 40s, and 50s. They skip a few decades to get into the scream kings (and queens) of the 70s and 80s. It just feels like all of them have gotten a nice new coat of gore. Hey, even Michael Meyers will be back in a week for his final rampage (heard that before). And much like Chucky,...
