One notable project will be transferred from Dceu into the newly established Dcu, and that’s ‘Peacemaker.’ ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 was already confirmed to be in development when Gunn clarified that the show will be canon to the Dcu and that he will make it work in a way that is not confusing for the fans at all, and that the transition between Dceu and Dcu at least as far as ‘Peacemaker’ is concerned will be as smooth as possible.
Now, Gunn went one step further by connecting the upcoming ‘Peacemaker’ season 2 with a highly-awaited animated project ‘Creature Commandos’ that’s supposed to be released this year.
Frank Grillo was cast as Rick Flag Sr. in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2, after already being confirmed to voice the character for the animated show. This aligns with what Gunn said back when he was presenting the Dcu, that he would like for the voice actors...

The Forever Purge had been marketed as the franchise’s *final* movie, but creator James DeMonaco eventually walked back those statements with the suggestion that he may actually have one more Purge story in the tank. The plan, last we heard? To bring Frank Grillo back as Leo Barnes, his character from The Purge: Anarchy and The Purge: Election Year.
“I think I’m going to write the next one, and if the audience wants it, we’ll do it,” DeMonaco told Daily Dead back in 2021. “Again, I think I came up with a new way to flip the whole thing upside down, and it’ll be five years after [The Forever Purge], but it takes America in a whole new direction and I think it would be a very interesting place to explore.”
DeMonaco explains to Variety in a new update this week that he finished the script “about eight months ago.

'The Purge 6' script has already been written.Franchise creator James DeMonaco has finished the script for the upcoming sixth instalment in the horror franchise - which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year - as Frank Grillo returns as Leo Barnes, while the movie will see how life continues after the collapse of the United States.Revealing he wrote the script eight months ago, DeMonaco told Variety: "It’s not completely different than previous movies, but it’s a new America that we’re entering into.“In ‘The Forever Purge,’ America kind of collapsed, and it’s really kind of mapped itself according to different ideologies. The states are based on sexuality, religion and ideology."So we’ve broken apart and the state of discord is at its worst. We enter 'The Purge' in that world.”The franchise has sparked five movies and a two-season TV series thus far,...

Almost two years have gone by since Purge franchise creator James DeMonaco let it be known that he had an idea for The Purge 6 that would get him back into the director’s chair (after handing The First Purge and The Forever Purge over to other directors) and see Frank Grillo reprising the role of Leo Barnes, the character he played in The Purge: Anarchy and The Purge: Election Year. But as time goes by, it was seeming less likely that this sixth Purge movie was going to happen. Earlier this year, Grillo indicated the shot-callers at Universal and Blumhouse weren’t sure they were going to move forward with this one. But in a new interview with Variety, DeMonaco seems confident that The Purge 6 is going to happen.
Today, June 7th, actually marks the tenth anniversary of the release of The Purge, which is why Variety got in contact with DeMonaco.

The Purge franchise started out as a uniquely conceptual suspense-filled horror thriller that was a scaled down, home invasion flick. Then, the sequels started exploring more and more of the concepts that surrounded a dark holiday in which people can act out their darkest desires without legal repercussions. The star of the sequels, and action movie journeyman, Frank Grillo, was kind enough to speak to JoBlo for his latest film, Little Dixie, where he spoke about the possibility of closing out the series.
You know, we keep bouncing back and forth. There is a script. James DeMonaco wrote it. And he wants to direct the last one. He had directed the last three or four. It centers on Leo, my character. They were high on it for a minute, then the put it on the back burner. And I just recently heard Blum[house] say they weren’t sure when they...
