The heartbreaking death of Extreme Weight Loss alum Brandi Mallory last month now has an official explanation.
Mallory — who was found dead on Nov. 9 at the age of 40 — died from complications due to obesity, which was “considered a significant condition contributing to [her] death,” according to the official autopsy conducted by the Fulton County Medical Examiner and obtained by TMZ. The report cited Mallory’s weight, an enlarged heart and elevated blood indicators suggestive of prediabetes as factors in her overall health.

Brandi Mallory, who appeared on Season 4 of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss series in 2014, died Nov. 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was 40.
Her death has been confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, and an obituary posted on Legacy notes that a funeral will be held in Georgia on Nov. 20. A cause of death has not been disclosed.
Mallory, a makeup artist, initially auditioned for the show The Biggest Loser, but although she was passed over for that show, producers recommended her for Extreme Weight Loss. At the time, Mallory said she weighed 329 pounds, and under the training of Chris Powell went on to compete in a Half Ironman swimming-biking-running fitness challenge.
In addition to her makeup career, Mallory regularly posted updates on Instagram, and in a 2018 YouTube interview with Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll said she had continued to “dance [her] pounds away.” Also in the interview, Mallory said...

"Ted Lasso" is many things: a show about mental health, community and self-improvement, a comedy about culture shock, and a thrilling sports drama about the joys and heartbreaks of association football. When it comes to this last part, the Apple TV+ series is in kind of a weird place. You see, AFC Richmond is a fictional team, but it competes against real teams. For the most part, "Ted Lasso" stays in its own little bubble, in part because the show has its own analogs to real-life players — like Dani Rojas being heavily inspired by Javier "Chicharito" Hernández, or Jamie Tartt serving as a sort of Ronaldo stand-in, or Zlatan being a clear inspiration for Zava.
This isn't to say "Ted Lasso" is entirely disconnected from the real world. The show has plenty of references to real athletes, and there have been some stellar cameos from actual football players and pundits,...

Dave Hause may call Santa Barbara home right now, but his Philadelphia raising informs nearly everything about the singer-songwriter. In the euphoric new song “Sandy Sheets,” Hause recalls his formative years as a teenager making the rite-of-passage drive from the Philly suburbs to the Jersey Shore, where anything was possible.
“We went wild in the Jersey heat, we had ‘Hey Jealousy’ on repeat/we’d hide out on the beach,” Hause sings. “Let me remember you when it was easy.” Along with lyrical allusions to the Gin Blossoms, Hause nods...
