A virtual reality film based around the life of Jesus Christ is to be seen for the first time at the Venice Film Festival (Aug 31-Sept 10).
A 40-minute preview of Jesus Vr - The Story of Christ will be made available to festivalgoers from Sept 1-4.
Producers Autumn Vr and VRWerx (which previously made a Vr game based on the Paranormal Activity films) claim it is the first feature-length Vr film ever made.
The screening will be held in a new Vr Theatre at Venice’s Casinò, which will be equipped with 50 Vr headsets for individual viewing on seats that pivot 360°.
It will be available this Christmas on all major Vr platforms including Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear, Oculus Rift, PlayStation Vr and the Htc Vive.

Australian coming-of-age drama has begun filming; Elizabeth Debicki, Richard Roxburgh among those to join cast.
Filming has begun this week in Australia on Simon Baker’s feature film directorial debut, Breath, based on Tim Winton’s coming-of-age novel.
Baker, star of TV drama The Mentalist and features including The Devil Wears Prada, will be joined in the cast by Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, The Night Manager), Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge!) and Rachael Blake (Sleeping Beauty).
Set in mid-70s coastal Australia, Breath follows two teenage boys that form an unlikely friendship with a mysterious older adventurer, who pushes them to take risks that will have a lasting and profound impact on their lives.
Newcomers Samson Coulter and Ben Spence will play teenagers Pikelet and Loonie respectively, while Roxburgh and Blake are Mr and Mrs Pike. Debicki is Eva and as previously announced, Baker will play Sando.

The Weinstein Company has shortlisted 21 Australian filmmakers for the Lexus Australian Short Film Fellowship, the largest cash fellowship for short film in Australia.
Judy Davis is presiding over the selection process as jury chair alongside jury members Nashen Moodley (Sydney Film Festival Director) Lexus Australia.s Adrian Weimers, and Australian producers Jan Chapman and Darren Dale..
The jury will select select up to four filmmakers, each of whom will receive a $50,000 Fellowship grant..
The four successful candidates will be announced at the Sydney Film Festival (June 8-19 2016).

Lifelike robotic companions are much closer to becoming a reality! While we can still tell the difference now, who knows if we will in another 20 years! Dr. David Hansen wants his creation "Sophia" to be able to attend school and learn. Maybe one day she will have a family. Maybe another day humanity will bow to her. I don't know much about Sophia, but I know not to mess with her after watching this video!

Deadline reports the road trip romance will film in Tennessee, and will be produced by Alex Lipschultz, Bradley Rust Gray, David Hansen, and Johnny Mac.
