Yes, it has been suggested that the Arrowverse first took flight with Arrow‘s own October 2012 premiere. But truly, it was 14 months later, on Dec. 4, 2013 — when Barry Allen aka the would-be Flash first set foot in Starling City — that TV’s expanded DC universe started to take shape.
This is where I remind you that when The CW gave a series about Green Arrow a green light, the notion of eventually introducing other standalone hero series was but a gleam in anybody’s eye.

As SAG-AFTRA and the WGA continue to strike and fight for a new deal, the picket lines are remaining full. In fact, they’re so full that multiple series have seen cast and crew reunions while marching.
Some have been spontaneous, as old colleagues run into each other by chance at a given location. Others have been planned, making sure to get as many members out on the lines as possible. So, we rounded up some of the biggest ones, ranging from shows long since ended, to those still fresh in our hearts.
You can check out some of the biggest reunions in the photos below.

Los Angeles, Aug 12 (Ians) Actor Stephen Amell best known for his role in ‘Arrow’ as the superhero Green Arrow, has joined the picket lines of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikers just weeks after protesting their stance, as the actor had earlier proceeded to call their strike as very harmful to the industry.
The ‘Arrow’ star was spotted alongside his wife Cassandra Jean Amell in Manhattan on Friday, holding a picket sign and wearing a SAG-AFTRA Strong T-shirt. The actor had been heavily criticised for his comments against the strikers, as he had labeled it an “ineffective negotiation strategy”.
Since then though, Amell seems to have changed his stance, whether due to the high criticism he received or just a change of mind his unknown. As reported by Variety, the actor clarifying his stance said: “I support my union, I do. And I stand with them. I do not support striking.

Weeks after delivering anti-strike comments during a fan convention, actor Stephen Amell was spotted on the picket line in New York on Friday. Wearing a black “SAG-AFTRA Strong” and carrying a sign, Amell was on the other side of the country from his former “Arrow” costars and creative team, who struck together in front of Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank during a planned reunion picket. Those attending the reunion picket Friday included “Arrow” actors Kirk Acevedo, Katie Cassidy, Juliana Harkavy, Willa Holland, Katrina Law and Caity Lotz, as well as executive producers Marc Guggenheim, Wendy Mericle and Beth Schwartz.
Amell earned criticism from fellow union members after seeming to speak critically about the strike on July 30 at Galaxycon in Raleigh, N.C. in a widely-distribted clip.

I don't think there has been a superhero television series with an as expansive legacy as "Arrow." Premiering on The CW in 2012, the series not only ran for impressive eight seasons but spawned the "Arrowverse," a shared television universe. "Arrow" led to the creation of "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow," and more, with these DC Comics-inspired series regularly crossing over with one another. The show stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, a playboy who returns to his hometown of Star City after presumingly being stranded on a remote island for five years, as the vigilante Green Arrow.
Initially coming out the gate as a dark and gritty take on the Green Arrow mythos, "Arrow" let itself get weird and leaned into its comic book origins for an entertaining, if uneven, superhero show. There is a wide range of quality across the show's entire run, from its attempts to visibly...

As much as we try to pretend it's not, television recasting is almost always a big deal. When stage performers get recast in a play, or characters get written out between movie sequels, it's bearable because these types of stories have a natural end point that helps audiences feel some closure about the character who's gone. Yet for TV shows, which encourage binge-watching that blurs the lines between seasons, the change can be jarring and distracting.
The spectrum of effective recasts isn't so much from terrible to great as it is from wildly noticeable to slightly unobtrusive. Whether it's the sudden appearance of scruffy, brown-eyed Daario Naharis on "Game of Thrones," the revolving door of Bobby Drapers on "Mad Men," or the depressing Aunt Viv switch-up on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," recasts usually leave something to be desired.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow didn’t start off being an off-the-wall ensemble, but as the various actors’ comedic talents lightened the dire circumstances, the producers pivoted and leaned into the absurdity. As a result, it became one of the freshest concepts on the CW, super-heroic action without as much angst (or shadow). When it worked, it was very entertaining but that came sporadically, oftentimes getting silly when they needed more restraint.
Still, the lovable ever-changing band of heroes has endured through seven seasons and unlike many shows, ended on a high note. All thirteen episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Seventh and Final Season can be enjoyed on the Blu-ray box set from Warner Home Entertainment.
When last we left our stalwart misfits, a Waverider popped into the sky and destroyed the Waverider they were using. Now stranded in 1925, they have to adapt and find a way home.

The following contains Superman & Lois spoilers.
Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 12
Though the overarching narrative of Superman & Lois season 2 has involved everything from alternate universe doppelgangers and portals to other worlds to cults and corrupt military leaders, the most affecting storylines this season have consistently been the show’s most human stories.
From Sarah’s discovery of her father’s affair and the subsequent breakup of the Cushings’ marriage to the Kent family’s decision to finally tell Lana the truth about Clark’s secret superhero identity, this season has been an emotional rollercoaster for all its major characters. And all of this once again reminds us that what sets Superman & Lois apart from many of its small screen superhero brethren is its willingness to treat its smallest, most everyday moments with the same gravitas as it does its most outlandish comic book homages.

The following contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 16
The Flash’s “The Curious Case of Bartholomew Allen” is another of what showrunner Eric Wallace likes to refer to as an “interlude” episode, an hour that isn’t as clearly connected to the larger ongoing arcs of the season (also known as “graphic novels”). As a result, while there are a few small references to season 8’s’ larger stories—Iris is still missing and the episode ends with Barry destroying the mad scientist lab that Caitlin built in her living room after Frost’s death—it generally feels as though it’s a story that could essentially take place at any point in the season.
In fact, there’s a lot about this installment, which revolves around the Flash getting hit with a shockwave that causes him to age rapidly and his powers to deteriorate further each time he uses them,...

The CW made a final decision for Legends of Tomorrow last week, and it was not the news fans expected.
The beloved drama series was canceled after seven seasons, and understandably, the cast is emotional about its demise.
Caity Lotz originated the role of Sara Lance on Arrow back when the show premiered in 2012.
She went on to land a lead role on Legends of Tomorrow, alongside Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Franz Drameh, Ciara Renée, Falk Hentschel, Dominic Purcell, and Wentworth Miller.
While the rest of the original cast gradually exited the series, Lotz remained a pivotal figure right up to its cancellation.
“I am bummed! I am sad, I’m going to miss it so much,” Lotz shared on Instagram of the announcement.
“I’m going to miss our amazing cast and crew. But at the same time I recognize how lucky have been to play Sara Lance for this long.

As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like DC's Legends of Tomorrow is cancelled or renewed for season eight. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren't considered, we invite you to rate all of the seventh season episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow here. *Status update below.

While superhero shows have done very well for The CW, most seem to have limited shelf-lives. Could this be the final year for DC's Legends of Tomorrow or, will it be renewed for season eight? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A superhero comedy-drama series, the DC's Legends of Tomorrow TV show stars Caity Lotz, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Matt Ryan, Adam Tsekhman, Olivia Swann, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez, and Amy Pemberton. The series follows a motley group of heroes and villains as they have misadventures across time and space in their stolen Waverider time-ship. In season seven, after saving 1925 Earth from an alien invasion (and getting married), Legends co-captains Sara Lance (Lotz) and Ava Sharpe (Macallan) think they and their crew can finally go home and relax. Unfortunately, their time travel ship gets blown up by a second Waverider, leaving the...

The Black Canary, aka actress Caity Lotz, has finally spoken about the cancellation of the long-running DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series by The CW before its eighth season. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has had a number of cast changes over the years. Lotz, who played Sara Lance/White Canary, was the only original cast member left from season one. The character first appeared as Black Canary on Arrow in October 2013 until the spinoff into “Legends,” which bowed in January 2016. Lotz had a late reaction to the cancellation news, as she was deeply immersed in Washington, D.C. lobbying efforts with The Creative Coalition for National Endowment for the Art funding. .
“I’m going to miss it so much,” she said in a series of Instagram Story videos. “I’m going to miss our amazing cast and crew. But at the same time I recognize how lucky have been to...

Caity Lotz is understandably sad about Legends of Tomorrow‘s cancellation after seven seasons, yet incredibly grateful to have played Sara Lance for so long.
Lotz of course first played Sara aka Black Canary on Arrow in October 2013, and was a steady presence there (brief death and all!) until The CW decided to spin the hero off into a new series that debuted in January 2016 and originally also starred Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Franz Drameh, Ciara Renée, Falk Hentschel, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.

The waverider is being grounded for good.
Legends of Tomorrow has been canceled after seven seasons at The CW.
Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu took to social media on Friday night to reveal the sad news.
“Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no Season 8 of Legends of Tomorrow," the tweet reads.
"We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”
Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 averaged 528,000 viewers and a 0.09 rating in the demo, up year-to-year.
With a week of DVR viewing factored in, the Arrowverse series builds to 860,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating.
The series wrapped its run back in March, and unfortunately, there was no closure for fans, meaning that the best we can hope for is a wrap-up as part of a crossover.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will not return for an eighth season.
It marks the end of a long road for the series, which premiered in 2016.
While The CW is known for giving its longer-running series a proper goodbye, this season of Legends ended on a cliffhanger. Sources, however, pointed out that the characters can easily populate other series in the DC Arrowverse so you may see one or two of them in other shows.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Season 7 finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, “Knocked Down, Knocked Up.” And if that title doesn’t clue you into at least one development, you might want to go back in time to see where you lost your way.] The team said goodbye to Season 7 tonight in an hour that also saw them losing a beloved member and learning that a teeny-tiny one might be joining them, via an unexpectedly expectant Sara (Caity Lotz). In addition, there was the debut of Scrubs vet Donald Faison as DC Comics’ Booster Gold, a resolution to the Good-vs.-Evil Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton) saga, a romantic rescue during World War 1 for Gwyn (Matt Ryan), and, in the episode’s final seconds, a raid on the Waverider by some Time Bureau types hunting down our band of history-tinkering misfits. Should they get an eighth-season renewal, showrunner Phil Klemmer has big plans for their futures that ...

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow wraps up its seventh season this week with “Knocked Down Knocked Up.” After last week’s episode, you’ve probably got a guess as to what the episode title is a reference to, but in addition to possibly paying off some of the future hints given to the Legends by Evil Gideon in order to convince them to retire, this episode wraps up what many would consider the strongest season of the show. We had a chance to speak with Legends Executive Producer and Arrowverse veteran Keto Shimizu about the episode, and the show’s growth over its seven seasons.
