- Although John has been acting since 1964, he has been pursuing it professionally since 2005. He has been married to the love of his life Cathy since 1976. They have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
He is a member of SAG-AFTRA.
Since retiring from business he has appeared in over 30 film projects. He recently achieved a "Bucket List" item appearing in a Western, "She was the Deputy's Wife" and has since appeared in 4 additional Westerns. Several of his films have been seen on Amazon Prime including "Going Down in La La Land", "Netherbeast Incorporated" and "Locker 13". In addition to film, John has appeared in over 80 theatrical productions. He recently concluded a 4 year run on the road performing in "Pass it On: An Evening with Bill W and Dr. Bob". It is the story of the men who founded AA. In film and on stage, John has played a doctor ,judge, detective, policeman, fop, businessman, producer, senator, general, killer, psychic, bartender, barfly, warden, newspaperman, father and grandfather. - When he was growing up John's mother always thought he looked like Robert Wagner. On his first day of work on his first professional film, John worked with Robert Wagner (Netherbeast Incorporated).
- In addition to appearing together on screen in "Netherbeast Incorporated", some years later Bill Lippincott and I both were simultaneously playing the role of Dr Bob in different biographical productions of the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous, Bill W & Dr. Bob.
