NBC is making a series adaptation of the 2001 movie Serendipity. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea. The original film starred John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. Guy meets girl, they fall in love, girl gives guy basically no personal information, and says if they’re meant to be, they’ll find each other, and they write their names and phone numbers on a book and a five dollar bill, and part ways.
Can I also mention they are both in other relationships at the time? Garbage human beings. Anyway, years pass, and the guy is engaged to someone but can’t stop thinking about that chick he knew for one day (eye roll). She is also in a relationship, but just has to find that guy that could totally be a serial killer, or at the very least, a dirty rotten cheater. So they set off to find each other,...

Serendipity is in NBC’s future — as in a small-screen adaptation of the 2001 rom-com that starred John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
Our sister site Variety reports that the Peacock network has given a script commitment to a series inspired by the movie, in which Cusack and Beckinsale played a couple seemingly fated to be together, though they certainly put that notion to the test.

We have news that we are getting a new cop-drama from NBC called Conway, which will be produced by Vin Diesel, his One Race TV, and Universal Television, where Diesel and One Race TV are under a deal. Here’s the synopsis for the series:
Written by Jonny Umansky, Conway centers around St. Louis detective Cal Conway, who finds his world turned upside down when he wakes up from a coma with exceptional cognitive abilities. Returning to the force, he sets out to solve the city’s most complex cases but the discovery of a lethal side effect makes Cal wonder whether his new abilities are more of a blessing or a curse.
This sounds like it could be very good, but didn’t stand out too much until I read that the condition that the main character is suffering from is actually based on a real condition, and it’s fascinating.

It’s not just theatrical movies (like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek Beyond, or Jumanji) that are currently trading on nostalgia. Small screen projects are also following suit. Nickelodeon is planning perhaps the most significant of these, with a TV movie based on the popular 1990s game show, Legends Of The Hidden Temple – which now has a premiere date.
Originally created by David G. Stanley, Scott A. Stone and Stephen Brown in 1993, Legends Of The Hidden Temple ran for 120 episodes – each featuring six teams of two 11-14 year olds. The teams competed to find and collect artefacts in a temple filled with treasures, guarded by Mayan protectors. To succeed, the competitors would have to answer questions and undertake physical tasks. The show was hosted by Kirk Fogg, and featured narration from Dee Bradley Baker in the guise of a talking stone head named Olmec.
