Exclusive: Karolina Wydra (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has landed a lead role opposite Rhea Seehorn in the upcoming Apple TV+ series from Breaking Bad creator and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan, Deadline has learned. The untitled project, described as a blended, grounded genre drama, has a two-season straight-to-series order.
Per usual, Gilligan is keeping all information about the show under lock and key, so Apple TV+ and producing studio Sony Pictures Television declined comment.
Believed to be a departure from the world of drugs and crime he explored in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the new series has been jokingly nicknamed “Breaking Good.”
“After 15 years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said at the time of the series’ announcement.

It’s a noteworthy move for Script2Comic, as its winners now could have their work being turned into a Manga that Kodansha could develop into an animated series, in addition to being published as comics in the United States by boutique publisher Amp Comics.
“This partnership embodies our enduring commitment to discovering new talents in the world of manga and graphic novels. AMC has given a series order to the one-hour comedic drama, “Straight Man,” starring “Breaking Bad” alum and “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk.
Here’s the show’s logline: “Straight Man is a mid-life crisis tale set at Railton College, told in the first person by William Henry Devereaux, Jr. (Odenkirk), the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in the Pennsylvania rust belt.”

It’s been heavily rumored over the last couple of months that The Mandalorian will feature the return of Boba Fett. And now, a new trademark filing by Lucasfilm has got Star Wars fans even more excited about the prospect of the legendary bounty hunter making a comeback.
For a character who barely has 10 minutes of screen time in the entire Skywalker Saga, it’s surprising just how much the fandom of that galaxy far, far away wants the Kaminoian clone back. And after so many years, Jon Favreau is finally going to make this happen in his Disney+ series, or so we’re told. If the hearsay is anything to go by, however, Lucasfilm has big plans for Fett’s return. In fact, apart from an alleged appearance in The Mandalorian, there’s also talk of a live-action spinoff series.
If you’re still skeptical of these reports, though,...

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have landed a massive new five-year overall deal at Sony Pictures Television, Variety has learned.
The creative team and their Lord Miller production banner will exit their current studio home 20th Century Fox Television for the new deal with Sony, which sources say is worth nine figures. The Sony deal comes after multiple studios pursued Lord and Miller as their 20th TV deal was set to expire.
Under the deal, Lord and Miller will develop live-action and animated series in both comedy and drama. The deal allows the pair to develop their own projects for network, cable and streaming platforms, as well as develop and supervise other writers’ projects. The duo will be involved in developing a suite of television series based on Sony’s Marvel Characters.
