Viola Davis is taking a stand against racial inequality in America. On June 5, the Oscar-winning actress shared a photo of her joining one of the many protests in La that have ensued following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer on May 25. In the powerful Instagram, which features some of her former costars and friends Octavia Spencer, Elisa Perry, and Yvette Nicole Brown, Viola spoke about the "rage and pain" she's experienced as a Black American and the injustices she has dealt with throughout her life and career.
"The above was my elixir," she captioned the image. "My rage and pain, like many Black Americans is rooted in the depth of my soul. Too many years of being asked to numb it, has caused it to implode.
