Alyssa Swanzey is a producer who spent her formative years between coastal Massachusetts and upstate New York. She grew up sailing the Atlantic Ocean with her family, and sea captain father on political, environmental, and educational expeditions. It was in these early years that she formed an intrinsic curiosity about the human experience and a deep love for storytellers. She was educated at Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan, and went on to attend the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. She subsequently supported producers in network television on The Affair and Nurse Jackie, and coordinated directing workshops for legendary "director's guru," Joan Scheckel (Little Miss Sunshine, Transparent, Whale Rider).
Her body of work ranges from short form, feature length narrative, and documentary field and story producing. Her films have premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and multiple years of the Venice International Film Festival, amongst others. She helped produce such projects as Valley of the Gods, starring Josh Hartnett, John Malkovich, and Jaime Rae Newman, as well as the completion of Orson Welles' last film, The Other Side of the Wind, and coinciding documentary, They'll Love Me When I'm Dead, directed by Academy Award winning documentarian, Morgan Neville. The latter two premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. Lost Transmissions, starring Simon Pegg and Juno Temple, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.
