Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “Club Zero,” a presupposition story about eating techniques that can lead to complete elimination for food, written and directed by Jennifer Hausner. In select theaters since March 15th. See local listings
Rating: 5.0/5.0
The film is set in an elite boarding school, which brings in progressive teachers. One such guru who is instructing a group of students is Miss Novak (Mia Wasikowska), a leader in “conscious eating.” She instructs her new pupils to apply a special thought process to food, eventually weaning themselves off the eating of larger amounts, which is justified as the food industry contribution to world destruction in our modern era. But the experiment goes too far, and Miss Novak’s rule breaking closeness to a particular male student comes under scrutiny. Will any of the pupils join Club Zero, the elimination of a need to eat?

As the tennis star made his way to the player box to celebrate, Djokovic pulled out a t-shirt to honor his friend Kobe Bryant. The graphic tee that said “Mamba Forever” had a photo of himself with the late basketball star.

Novak Djokovic defeated Ben Shelton in the semifinal of the 2023 US Open , but his victory celebration didn't sit too well with a large section of fans.
Tennis fans on social media were completely divided, with the majority of them expressing fury and disapproval of Djokovic mocking his vanquished opponent's celebration. At the US Open, Shelton, pioneered the celebration, portraying picking up an imaginary telephone call and hanging up on his opponent.
After his quarterfinal victory over Frances Tiafoe , Shelton manifested the celebration, which Djokovic mimicked after downing the 20-year-old in the semifinal. The US Open official handle on X (formerly known as Twitter) immediately shared the video, much to the dissatisfied watching fans.
The short clip which has since garnered close to five million impressions on X has received a myriad of comments, with many fans rebuking Djokovic's actions. One fan felt Djokovic was 'a bit disrespectful' in his post-match celebration.

Novak Djokovic fulfilled his promise to meet social media influencer and superfan Justus Reid at the US Open so that he could listen to a self-composed song in his honor.
Reid, an American who lives in the Balkans, wrote a song titled 'Dare to Dream' celebrating the illustrious career of 23-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic. He procured some help from Djokovic's diehard fans in creating what he called a visual masterpiece .
The music video was uploaded by Reid at the end of August on his YouTube channel, and later on, took to Instagram to request Djokovic fans to augment his song in the hope it would reach the Serbian star. That video request was viewed over one million times on Instagram.
"Novak is playing at the US Open and it's my dream to play my song for him. How am I gonna do that? The music video is live on YouTube now.

Carlos Alcaraz remained gracious despite the shock defeat, as he recognised just how well Daniil Medvedev played in their eventful US Open semi-final contest.
Alcaraz's achievements have been nothing short of astronomical in the last couple of seasons, attaining World No.1 in such a short space of time, and already having two major titles to his name at the age of just 20.
Perhaps because the Spaniard has set such high standards for himself, and has heightened many peoples expectations, these losses sometimes feel like a crisis, but Alcaraz stayed firm in saying that there is still plenty more room for opportunities for the rest of the season, and he can essentially end this memorable season on a high.
Alcaraz is regularly putting himself in the business-end of most tournaments he competes in, and stunned many with his results on a grass court surface he initially had little to no experience...

Andrey Rublev endured a really brutal match against Daniil Medvedev at the 2023 US Open , but he wasn't thinking about the conditions that much during the match.
Rublev is a very passionate player who wears his emotions pretty openly. You'll never be unsure what Rublev feels when watching a match of his because he's very expressive and vocal, among other things.
Medvedev is a similar player, and we've seen both of them show plenty of emotions during their brutal US Open quarterfinal . Besides neither playing their best tennis, both players struggled with the conditions, though Medvedev was far more vocal about it.
He even told the camera that a player would 'die' if the sport kept pushing players to play in such conditions. Rublev was asked about it and confirmed that he didn't even think about that.
No, I'm not even thinking about my health. I don't know. At this moment,...

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are only one match away from giving fans the final that everybody wants to see at this year's US Open .
Alcaraz bested Alexander Zverev to secure the semi-final of the US Open, and he's now only one match away from making the final. Novak Djokovic is in the same situation as his win over Taylor Fritz sent him to the other semi-final.
Alcaraz will face Medvedev for a spot in the final and, if he wins, will do his part. Djokovic plays Shelton , and he'll try to do his part and give fans the final that everybody hoped for. It's likely the best one we could get, considering how well both are playing, and it's the final Alcaraz wants as well.

Carlos Alcaraz eliminated Alexander Zverev at the US Open , as the German explained after the match that the Spaniard is a level above him.
That proclamation in itself isn't strange in any way and rings true because the results speak for themselves. Djokovic won the Australian Open and Roland Garros, while Alcaraz won Wimbledon. The way the US Open is unfolding, one of them is pretty much guaranteed to win this Grand Slam as well.
Zverev, like many other players tried, but ultimately he wasn't good enough to overcome Alcaraz, who cruised in three sets. As the German explained in his post-match press conference, the other players just need to step up if they want to challenge the dominance of these two.
Well, I mean, I played Novak in Cincinnati, I played Carlos here. I think they are very, very similar from the level of the game. There are some...

Daniil Medvedev booked the 2023 US Open quarter-final after a win over Alex de Minaur and ensured him an appearance at the Atp Finals later this year.
Daniil Medvedev has had an interesting season so far because the Russian had moments when he looked like the best player in the world, only to look rather bleak in some other ones. He has over 50 wins so far this year, a couple of trophies won , but more recently, it's been kind of up and down.
He made it to the Wimbledon semi-final but looked strange during the two Atp Masters 1000 events leading up to the US Open. He didn't play well at either, and it was just odd seeing a player who is one of the best hard-court players getting beaten by players who generally wouldn't be able to.

Iga Swiatek has explained her divided personal opinion about losing the Wta number one spot following an early exit at the 2023 US Open .
Swiatek was eliminated from the US Open in the round of 16 after Jeļena Ostapenko fought back from a set down to stun the 22-year-old . To add insult to injury, Swiatek was knocked off the Wta number one spot after the defeat and will be replaced by Aryna Sabalenka.
Ultimately, Swiatek was left disappointed that her 75-week run at the top of the women's rankings came to an end following a disappointing defeat at Flushing Meadows. However, when reflecting on her dethroning from the number one spot, the 22-year-old explained that there were conflicting emotions about the development as she vowed to refocus and go again in the future.
"Well, it meant a lot, obviously. It was great. On the other hand this last part, it was pretty exhausting.

Rafael Nadal has yet to play an event after injuring his hip at the Australian Open earlier this year but Daniil Medvedev is certain he'll be in Paris.
Very little has been known about Rafa since he injured his hip earlier this year as the Spaniard returned back home to Spain where he has been slowly rehabbing. We've seen pictures and videos of him on the court but nobody really knows how close to a return he is as there is very little information coming out of his camp.
I believe Rafa will play the French Open, although I'm not in his body. I don't want to talk for him. But he will be a favorite, even if he didn't play before. He won 14 times this Grand Slam, so he will be the favorite.

Rafael Nadal's former coach and uncle, Toni Nadal, has criticised Novak Djokovic's opinions on vaccination for the Covid-19 virus.
Djokovic has long defended his stance on not getting the Covid-19 vaccine since he was deported from Australia in 2022 due to his unvaccinated status. The decision from the 35-year-old has also led to his exclusion from entering US tournaments this season as he remains unvaccinated.
When speaking about the situation to the Spanish news outlet El Espanol, Uncle Toni shared his opinions on people who are unvaccinated. In particular, he outlined how much worse the pandemic could have been if more people thought like Djokovic over the past three years.
"If everyone had done the same thing as Djokovic regarding vaccination, there would have been 10 times more deaths,"
Toni Nadal said to El Espanol

Novak Djokovic is still playing unbelievable tennis despite soon turning 36 and Bjorn Borg predicts that he'll win a couple more majors.
Bjorn Borg knows how it feels to win a Grand Slam trophy as he lifted 11 of those in his career. However, after his retirement, a generation of the Big Three started and Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal both won twice as many majors as the Swede, lifting 22 Grand Slams.
Yet, their situation is very different at the moment. While Djokovic won five Grand Slams over the past three seasons, Nadal managed to win only two and that's also one of the reasons why Borg said on the Atp Tennis Podcast that the Serb may win one or two more in his career.
“Novak I think he might win one or two more Grand Slam tournaments, who knows, but what he is doing for tennis in general is unbelievable. He’s still pushing the limits,...

Former player and current analyst Mats Wilander believes that Carlos Alcaraz has the ability to change the history of tennis.
It happened a few times in the past with several players over the years. Most notably it happened with Roger Federer whose tennis being the model for many young players coming up in the years since including Alcaraz. Wilander believes that Alcarz has the same talent and that his impact will be huge.
After Medvedev beat Djokovic two years ago at the US Open, we thought it would be him who would take charge of tennis. But it hasn't been like that because Novak and Nadal are still there and winning. Alcaraz can be the tennis player who decides the future history of our sport.
The Spaniard possesses tremendous talent with a vast array of shots and ways to win a point. He is super quick on the court and moves really well.

Here's some news that just might make your head spin a little. For all those movie lovers who hold up the 1958 "Vertigo" as a stone-cold classic, you might not want to look down. Apparently, Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the original film, has started greasing the wheels for a remake. The Alfred Hitchcock movie, of course, starred the great James Stewart as a former cop forced into early retirement after a harrowing and deadly encounter on the job leaves him with a debilitating case of acrophobia -- a fear of heights, for all the laypeople out there.
The report comes courtesy of Deadline, but that's really only the tip of the iceberg. Incredibly enough, this project will apparently bring on Steven Knight to write the script. Oh, and the cherry on top? None other than Robert Downey Jr. is being looked at to fill the role originally played by Stewart.

Chris Evert was absolutely stunned by the level of Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells as he slowly inches closer to the clay season.
It's hard to pick where Alcaraz plays better tennis because he's absolutely sensational both on hard courts and clay courts. The Spaniard loves to play aggressive tennis which works well on faster surfaces but he's also impeccable on clay courts due to his speed and the drop shot.
I want to say he is the epitome of what an athlete should be, with the qualities, and the tool-set. He was born to be a champion. He was born to be brilliant in the field of tennis, and he's got the tool-set as well as the championship intangible qualities like focus, hunger and passion.
Evert on Alcaraz
He fascinated many by his level at Indian Wells absolutely smashing Medvedev who looked pretty unbeatable in the weeks prior to the event.

The Spaniard was spectacular beating a player who won 19 matches in a row comfortably with the Russian conceding that Alcaraz is the rightful number one.
He literally made Medvedev look terrible. He was overpowering Daniil Medvedev. This is the thing that I really noticed about Alcaraz. He would be happy to rally and not really go for it. He hit one back and two backhands and then he would crush one backhand and it would literally push Medvedev backwards, where he couldn't control the ball.

Daniil Medvedev praised Carlos Alcaraz as the deserved number one in the world as he won the most points in the past 52 weeks.

There is very little to misinterpret in the words of the Russian who was quite clear in his complimentary words to Alcaraz following the Indian Wells Masters final. He finds him as the deserving number one after the past 52 weeks of play.
