DC Comics' "Batgirl" #21, available March 28, 2018, in support of Warners' developing "Batgirl" DC Universe live-action feature, is written by Hope Larson and illustrated by Scott Godlewski, with covers by Dan Mora and Joshua Middleton:

"But she's not the only one searching; 'Commissioner Gordon' is on the hunt, too!
"Can this father-daughter duo put their differences aside long enough to work together ?..."
"...we are doing 'Batgirl' with Joss Whedon...
"...and it's going to be super exciting," said DC 's Geoff Johns about Warners developing "Batgirl" feature.
'Batgirl' aka 'Betty Kane' (named after 'Batman' creator Bob Kane) debuted in DC Comics (1961) from illustrator Bill Finger and writer Sheldon Moldoff as 'Bat-Girl'...

Although Cameron Monaghan has never been a part of Gotham‘s principal cast, many would likely argue – and I would agree with them – that Jerome Valeska has easily emerged as the finest villain the series has thus far produced, thanks to sharp writing and the young actor’s incredible performances. Now, that’s not meant to be a knock against Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin or Cory Michael Smith’s Riddler, but it’s just a testament to how well Monaghan has brought this proto-Joker to life.
When we last saw Jerome, he’d paid homage to Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman: Death of the Family by wearing a dead skin mask with such style. But after he’d had all his fun in an amusement park straight out of The Killing Joke, James Gordon succeeded in apprehending the young knave – and punching off his face in the process.

What in the name of Bill Finger did I just watch? Years ago, when I first heard that DC was doing a show based on the adventures of a young James Gordon, I never thought I’d see that series morph into a hardcore horror drama that out-gored Ryan Murphy and American Horror Story. But that’s exactly what we get this week as Gotham went full-on gross-out terror in James Gordon’s climatic confrontation with Professor Pyg.
I think most Gotham fans are on the Jerome train as far as the most popular villain of the series is concerned, but really, Professor Pyg really steps up and becomes one of the most twisted,...

With a trailer to give fans a look at the upcoming Elseworlds animated Batman adventure, WB Animation has announced when fans will be able to get the Gotham By Gaslight blu-ray, along with all the special features coming with it. Come inside for all the details!
DC's Animated films are almost always a lot of fun to watch. Some of my favorites, however, are the ones that eschew the Animated Universe continuinty in favor of something different (like Gods and Monsters). As such, I'm really excited to see how Batman: Gotham By Gaslight turns out. It sees a different Batman take on Jack the Ripper in a turn of the century Gotham.
It's a neat concept, and worked great in the comics. Let's just hope the same magic works in the animated film when it releases on February 6, 2018:

Justice League: The Official Collector’s Edition is proving to be the gift that keeps on giving.
Four days out from D-day, Warner’s official companion book has already unearthed pertinent details concerning the Man of Steel and J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner James Gordon, the latter of whom is said to be a much more world-weary and “badass” incarnation of Gotham’s unwavering lawman.
But the Justice League treasure trove hasn’t been exhausted yet; Cbm has relayed a series of concept art that brings us closer to Zack Snyder’s star-studded tentpole. From the rooftops of Gotham to the murky depths of Atlantis, the gallery below covers all four corners of the DC mega-movie, while there’s also an early rendering of Steppenwolf, Ciaran Hinds’ otherworldly villain who’s descended upon Earth in search of the fabled Mother Boxes. There are three in total, and as you’ll be able to see,...

When it comes to the Caped Crusader, few things are as synonymous with DC’s Dark Knight than Commissioner James Gordon, arbiter of justice and one of the few remaining good guys of Gotham City.
So when it was announced that Ben Affleck was being drafted in to replace Christian Bale as Batman, and Warner Bros. tapped Jeremy Irons as Alfred, the Internet soon fixated on the vacant role of Commissioner Gordon. And though he was left on the sidelines during Batman V Superman, the imminent Justice League will herald our first peek at J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man) as Gotham’s loyal servant.
He’s a “badass,” according to the actor, who revealed some juicy details about his on-screen character in the newly-published companion book, Justice League: Official Collector’s Edition (via Cbm).

Gotham is a show that has a lot to live up to. We all know Batman, but to take the focus and push it onto James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) instead, and make Bruce Wayne a lesser character is a brave move. Looking at Gotham: The Complete Third Season, we now have a show that is finding its confidence, but also risking overwhelming the audience in the very busy city of Gotham.
Working as a bounty hunter, Gordon is now tracking down the Indian Hills escapees. With Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel), The Mat Hatter threatening the city with a madness virus, and a shady organisation known as the Court of Owls strengthening their hold over the city, the battle for control of Gotham has never been so volatile.
With the number of super villains coming into their own in season 3, it can sometimes feel hard to keep up. We have...

A Comic-Con poster has just been released for Gotham Season 4 and it reveals that we’ve learned the title of the initial Season 4 storyline is "Dawn of Night." The poster also features an image of Bruce Wayne looking over Gotham City.
There's not a lot of information on the upcoming season, but we know that Bruce is going to be taking some big steps as he slowly but surely becomes the Dark Knight, which corresponds with the title. We also know that Harley Quinn is going to play a decent sized role in the story.
We'll learn more about the series during the Comic-Con panel that takes place on Saturday evening. They will be doing a Q&A with the cast and crew and will show off a video presentation.

While it may be quite some time before we see Jerome Valeska morph into a fully realized Joker, Gotham has not shied away from allowing some of the less law-abiding citizens to already realize their destinies as some of the more iconic supervillains around. To date, we’ve already seen Oswald Cobblepot, Edward Nygma and Victor Fries become the Penguin, Riddler and Mr. Freeze, respectively – and that’s just naming a few.
Not long ago, series lead Ben McKenzie, who plays James Gordon, stated that he’d like to see the Scarecrow show up at some point. At the time, we couldn’t help but wonder if this was something on his wishlist or, if indeed, he was dropping a little hint at what’s to come.
Well, it looks like there was some considerable weight to that, as David Mazouz, young Bruce Wayne himself, said it’s happening when...

Though most of the focus right now when it comes to the DC Extended Universe is on Justice League – and understandably so – there’s a hushed excitement starting to build around Batgirl. Why? Well, for one, the character deserves a proper big screen adaptation, but aside from that, Wonder Woman has now proven that female superheroes can flourish at the box office.
Of course, there’s also the fact that Joss Whedon is behind the camera here, and as such, it’s very likely that this is going to be a big hit for the franchise. Granted, we don’t know too much about it just yet, but with reports saying that the director is eyeing The New 52 for inspiration and hoping to cast an unknown, it seems like Batgirl could soon become one of the Dceu’s most promising projects.

Synopis: Taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, this new edition of the classic mystery tells the story of a mysterious killer who murders his prey only on holidays. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. It took a while, but on Gotham Season 3 Episode 15 after some disturbing hallucinations and a few Gcpd games, Edward Nygma finally figured out his villainous persona.
The Riddler has finally arrived!
If you didn't get chills when Nygma put on his hat and walked away from the pier as The Riddler, then you weren't watching the same show I was.
Yes, how he finally got to that point was campy and goofy, but it was still a lot of fun to watch.
It seems that Nygma couldn't handle killing Penguin very well and resorted to hallucinatory drugs which brought a messy Penguin back whenever he needed some guidance.
I loved every minute ghost Penguin was on the screen. He was as honest as Penguin could be mocking Nygma at every opportunity including copying his moves when Nygma was contemplating about the people he killed and making fun of him for...

2017-03-30T12:39:21-07:00Joss Whedon May Direct Batgirl Movie
Batgirl could be getting the big-screen treatment via Joss Whedon.
Whedon is in negotiations to write, direct and produce a Batgirl stand-alone movie for Warner Bros., adding another heroine to the studio's DC cinematic universe.
Warner Bros. Pictures president Toby Emmerich will oversee the project, along with Jon Berg and Geoff Johns.
The most popular iteration of Batgirl was introduced in 1967 as Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner and frequent Batman foil James Gordon. She often aligns herself with Batman, Robin and Nightwing/Dick Grayson.
Batgirl will be the second female superhero stand-alone in Warner Bros. Dcu (Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 2). Whedon has long been credited as a pioneering voice for female-focused genre fare, having created the hit TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer two decades ago.
