This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
The Mandalorian may have unleashed its most Star Wars-y story ever with “The Spies,” an episode that features Mandos vs. Imperial stormtroopers with jetpacks, several references to Legends canon, and yet another tease for Grand Admiral Thrawn. It also features the single best Grogu gag of the entire season with the arrival of Ig-12 and his “yes” and “no” buttons. The episode is everything you could possibly want from a Star Wars adventure and then some. Plus, some very serious stakes are introduced ahead of the finale.
All the way through, we’re also treated to plenty of easter eggs, references, and callbacks to the wider Star Wars galaxy. Here are the ones that caught our attention…

Gregor Jordan on the set of ‘Dirt Music’. (Photo: Kerry Brown)
Once cinemas reopen, Universal Pictures intends to give Dirt Music a wide release – something director Gregor Jordan is thankful for.
Shot in Western Australia and based on Tim Winton’s Miles Franklin-winning novel, the film made its world at the Toronto International Film Festival last September.
It stars Kelly Macdonald as Georgie, a sometime sailor, diver and nurse who is stranded in a remote fishing town with Jim (David Wenham), a man she doesn’t love, and his young sons whose dead mother she can never replace. A reckless moment leads Georgie to an intense, sexually charged affair with Lu Fox (Garrett Hedlund), an enigmatic loner, musician and poacher who is traumatised by a tragic accident from his past.

Frank O. Bowman wrote the book on impeaching the 45th president. Published in July, High Crimes and Misdemeanors: A History of Impeachment for the Age of Trump seeks to ground the talk about removing the president from office in centuries of history and practice. A law professor who teaches at the University of Missouri and lectures on impeachment at Georgetown, Bowman doesn’t pretend to be above the fray, politically. He describes himself as a “centrist” Democrat. But he insists, “I’ve tried hard to play it straight in applying rigorous legal and constitutional analysis.

"I still think in her lifetime, that she deserved to be the first female president, and that's what makes me sad -- is that I just wish that she had that opportunity, because she's fought for so long and because I believe her when she says she loves this country," Cyrus said, openly shedding tears. "It's all she's ever done. She's given her life to make it better."
