The two-and-a-half-year legal fight between Deirdre and Scott Gurney, founders of Duck Dynasty producer Gurney Productions, and ITV, has come to an end with a settlement. It involves ITV taking full ownership in the company by acquiring the remaining stake.
“ITV and Deirdre and Scott Gurney have reached a settlement which resolves all claims and issues asserted in the litigation between them to their mutual satisfaction,” ITV said in a statement. “As part of the settlement, the Gurneys will sell their 38.5% stake in the company they founded, Gurney Productions, the company behind over 50 reality television shows including the hit series Duck Dynasty. The remaining terms of the settlement are confidential. The Gurneys are free to pursue other interests in the entertainment field, and said “we are excited about our next chapter and look forward to pursuing scripted and unscripted film and television projects we have in development.” A spokesperson for...

The co-creators of Duck Dynasty have reached a settlement resolving a dispute over control of their company.
ITV Studios in December 2016 sued Scott and Deirdre Gurney and fired them, after purchasing a majority interest in Gurney Productions, claiming the duo had been engaging in self-dealing and fraud in breach of their contract. The Gurneys fired back with a January 2017 suit claiming ITV ambushed them with bogus allegations of impropriety in an attempt to usurp their company.
The Gurneys will sell their 38.5 percent stake in Gurney Productions as part of the settlement, the rest of which is confidential.

With all the reboots and revivals hitting the airwaves, reality fans are likely wondering, is Duck Dynasty still in production? Might we see the Robertson family on TV anytime soon? The short answer: It doesn't seem so. The long answer: A legal battle might be the reason the A&E show hasn't returned. British media company ITV bought a majority stake of Duck Dynasty production company Gurney Productions for $40 million in 2012, The Telegraph reports, and then fired founders and Duck Dynasty creators Scott and Deirdre Gurney in 2016. In the ensuing court battle, ITV alleged Scott and Deirdre acted with "stunning greed" to fraudulently inflate the profits at their company; and ITV also alleged the couple tried to expense $1.2 million of guns, jewelry, massages, vacations, and parties. Meanwhile, the Gurneys claim ITV wrongfully fired them and tried to bilk them out of a fortune, and they've claimed damages of more than $150 million.

The co-creators of "Duck Dynasty" are about to get back in business ... and if their business partners dare try to squeeze them out they will have hell to pay. Scott and Deirdre Gurney, the co-creators of the once wildly popular show, were thrown out of the business by ITV, the British network that co-owned the show. A judge ruled back in March that ITV had no right to 86 the Gurneys and ordered the network to let them back in.

Lea Michele’s new boyfriend Matthew Paetz says he wasn’t really a gigolo and only dated clients for research, so that he could coach real gigolos through the process. He worked for Cowboys4Angels, which provides companionship for women and was featured on Showtime’s Gigolos.
According to Jorge Ramos of Espn (in a deleted tweet), FIFA officials have told the United States to be ready if investigations into corruption with the award of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar turn up irregularities that would void the bid. FIFA may be looking to move the games from Qatar to avoid the bad press of the nation’s human rights record, and the need to play games in the winter due to the heat.

Plenty of groups give out awards for excellence in film and television at the end of every year, but no set of nominations is watched more carefully by Oscar predictors than the picks from the Producers Guild. That’s because year after year their choices end up being a fairly good indicator of which films will also be granted Best Picture nominations when the Academy makes their selections.
The Guild has announced their 2014 nominations today and there aren’t really any major surprises here. All the expected films are present, including 12 Years A Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Animated films that nabbed nominations are The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Epic, Frozen and Monsters University. Included in the documentary nominations are A Place at the Table, Far Out Isn’t Far Enough: The Tomi Ungerer Story, Life According to Sam, We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks...

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.

Only the horrifying monsters they build match the craziness of this extremely talented family.
Here are the new apps/features:
· Monster Maker: A web-based application allowing users to create their own monsters. Take your time in building your own monster, and view the full gallery to see what others have come up with!

Tonight, Discovery’s 24th annual Shark Week continues with Chief Shark Officer Andy Samberg hosting Shark City, which takes a Meerkat Manor approach to introducing viewers to the individual personalities found in a group of Caribbean reef sharks who enjoy communal living and have been named by the folks at Stuart’s Cove. (Sample: Big Momma). Samberg shot wraparounds for the hour at multiple locations with sharks. “The pitch was that I would get to fly to the Bahamas and literally swim with sharks, and I was thinking there’s no way I would ever have the balls to do that on my own,...

There was a warning at the start of Discovery’s Tuesday night Shark Week premiere Killer Sharks saying some viewers might find reenactments of the horrific attacks that terrorized the coastal town of Durban, South Africa over the holiday season of 1957 disturbing. Disturbing and awesome! “We went there,” executive producer Deirdre Gurney laughs to EW. Her company, Gurney Productions, has done a lot of reenactment shows for Discovery and Animal Planet, and multiple Shark Week productions (include tonight’s How Sharks Hunt with Cody and Dave of Dual Survivor and Thursday’s Shark City with Andy Samberg), so this was...

For my money the only paranormal show worth its salt is "Destination Truth", but that doesn't mean I won't consume new bits of spooky stuff like a bag of BBQ potato chips when it comes my way!
According to The Hollywood Reporter Syfy will announce at Tuesday's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York that it has picked up a trio of reality series -- "Haunted Collector", "Legend Quest" and "Paranormal Witness" -- to launch later this year. The series will join the net’s growing cadre of unscripted hits, including "Ghost Hunters", "Destination Truth" and "Face Off", which was recently renewed for a second season.
"Haunted Collector", a working title, centers on a family of renowned paranormal investigators who spend their time tracking down haunted items. The family then houses its collections -- think guns, jewelry, paintings and dolls -- in its museum. The series, from Gurney Prods.' Scott Gurney and Deirdre Gurney,...
