- D.J. is a Siberian Husky, known for his roles in both Eight Below and Snow Dogs. Born in 2001, he lived a long and exciting life, but we don't know much about how he filled in his retirement years.
- A playful, happy-go-lucky natural born movie star who previously starred in the canine hit Snow Dogs. D.J. impressed his trainers and director Frank Marshall with his uncanny improvisational skills and always brought an extra dash of drama to his scenes as Max. D.J's sledding double is one-year-old Timba, who was an on-set favorite due to an exceptionally cuddly nature.
- Max was the lead dog in the pack owned by sled dog guide Jerry Shepherd. The movie followed the dogs left to fend for themselves in the Antarctic wilds after a storm saw Jerry and the client he was guiding evacuated. D.J., playing Max, had one of the lead dog roles and showed the utter desperation of surviving in the harsh climes before Jerry was able to get back to the dogs he left behind.
- D.J. first hit the world stage in 2002, in the movie Snow Dogs at just 12 months old. The comedy movie followed Miami dentist Ted Brooks who found out his mother had passed away. Learning he had an inheritance to claim, he made his way to Alaska, thinking he would get money.
- D.J. was able to play the part beautifully, with the strength of his character evident in his eyes and actions. Of course, this is equally as a result of his intelligence as it is his dog trainer family. Along with an animal coordinator, the Eight Below team consisted of 18 dog trainers and support staff, actively caring for and training the dogs for their taste of stardom.
- Instead, his mom had left him her rowdy sled dogs and her property. D.J. was one of many sled dogs in the movie - all of which underwent training to show they "had it in" for Ted Brooks. The movie then followed D.J. and the other Huskies forming a bond and being run in by Ted Brooks for sled racing.
- D.J's future on the stage was set, and it was clear he was a talented dog with a lot of movie potential. Four years later, he became a part of another pack of sled dogs in a 2006 heart-wrencher Eight Below. D.J., along with another dog Timba, played the role of Max.
