- Rick Larkin was born on January 7, 1984 in Dublin, Ireland. He is a director and writer, known for Satellites & Meteorites (2008), Dublin in Pieces (2012) and The Good Doctor (2009).
- Made his first short film at the age of 7.
- Is a qualified commercial helicopter and airplane pilot since the age of 17. Flew the camera helicopter in Triple Bill.
- Hopefully I won't be corrupted by the whole director complex and start wanting to make 50 million dollar pictures. I love the indie film thing because there is very little rank involved in it, everybody there is there because they love making movies.
- In Ireland we are guilty of looking inward with our filmmaking, its taken a long time for us to see that we need to make more films that are not just about issues in our country because its not relevant on a world stage. We need to make films that are relevant to humanity in general, stories that could happen anywhere but just happen to take place in Ireland - that is what has made French and Spanish cinema so successful. Films also have to be commercially successful so we can generate further investment in the industry in the future, at end of the day its a business, and a business has to make money.
