This NOS4A2 review contains spoilers.
NOS4A2 Season 2 Episode 3
One thing that NOS4A2 did between seasons is tinker with its special effects. For whatever reason, Charlie Manx as an old man looks a little better than he did the previous season.
All across the board, it seems, the special effects seem to be coming across the screen better, from the blood and guts of previous episodes to things like the scarred-up ghost living in the Manx house on the outskirts of the Manx inscape, just outside the gates of Christmasland.
However, one effect that doesn’t hold up when seen frequently is the razor-sharp teeth of the children keeping Millie company and eating whatever drifters Charlie brings home. When they just show up, it looks fine. A child flashes a creepy, fanged smile while sitting in the back seat of the Wraith? Perfect. Millie Manx tries to emote with a mouth full of digitally enhanced dentures?...

The creator of Fxx series “You’re the Worst” is trying to get his actors in place. “Allan, take a step back toward the polar bear,” Stephen Falk shouts over a din of dancing bodies. “No, toward the polar bear!”
For the series finale, everyone — from the principal cast of Chris Geere, Aya Cash, Kether Donohue, and Desmin Borges, to a slew of recurring favorites like Janet Varney, Todd Robert Anderson, Brandon Mychal Smith, and the bear-adjacent Allan McLeod — is gathered to shoot a wedding reception as they swirl around the ballroom of a giant Silver Lake mansion decorated with ornate fixtures and lots and lots of taxidermy.
It’s mid-September 2018, and it’s here, at the 22,000-square foot historical landmark of the Paramour Estate, that “You’re the Worst” will end its five-season run. The location’s intriguing history aside, its ties to the series run deep: It’s...
