Inside a warehouse in an undisclosed location in Los Angeles’ South Bay, a shipment of clothes belonging to Chloë Sevigny recently arrived. They are being photographed, cataloged with barcodes and properly boxed and hung by The Wardrobe, a New York storage and preservation company that recently opened its first archive in the L.A. area.
“I’d just been holding onto everything for so long now and not storing things properly, from my first communion dress to my Oscar dress [a Ysl in 2000 for Boys Don’t Cry] and my Golden Globes dresses,” says Sevigny. “I have almost everything.”
Sevigny connected with The Wardrobe founder Julie Ann Clauss over Instagram. The two met up at the actress’ storage unit in Connecticut and began sorting through her trove of clothes. The items include spring 1996 Miu Miu designs (“I was in one of their first campaigns, and they gave me the entire collection,” she says); a...

In an election year marked by unprecedented grassroots energy on the left, and with just one month to go until the midterms (Nov 6th), dozens of notable cultural figures have come together in a video series launching today with the goal to drive mass volunteer action that transforms our government this November.
Amid a slew of celebrity PSAs and reminders to vote, their message is different: “Don’t just vote this year — volunteer!”
Entitled The Last Call for The Last Weekend, the video series is the last big push for The Last Weekend, a coalition campaign organized by Swing Left and backed by more than 60 other progressive organizations including Indivisible, MoveOn, Organizing for Action, and Emily’s List to enlist people from across the country to volunteer a collective 1 million hours to help get out the vote when volunteering matters most: on the last weekend before the midterm elections (Saturday 11/3 – Tuesday 11/6).

New York Fashion Week has seen some major changes over the last few years. Many moved their shows to Paris (including Rodarte, Altuzarra and Proenza Schouler), while other labels skipped showing all together. Last season, Kanye West announced he would not participate in Nyfw and released a viral fashion show/ad campaign starring his wife Kim Kardashian West, who modeled the looks in staged paparazzi shots instead. And now, a Nyfw mainstay, designer Zac Posen, is following suit.
In an Instagram post, the designer announced that his Nyfw moment would consist of an “intimate portfolio” of his dear friend Katie Holmes modeling his collection.

Aly and Aj Michalka are tight knit sisters and best friends, so it’s no surprise that the two partake in quintessential sister behavior: stealing pieces from each other’s closets.
“We’re actually at my house in Los Angeles,” Aj said when she gave People a peek inside her closet with Aly by her side; after all, “a lot of pieces that are mine are actually here,” Aly pointed out. “This is actually going to unleash a lot of sister turmoil!” Aj said.

Christmas came early for Beyonce fans!
The 36-year-old songstress gifted her Beehive with a handful of stylish new fashion pics of herself on Saturday, flaunting her slim figure in booty-baring jean shorts.
In the snaps, shared on her website and Instagram, the "Sweet Dreams" singer slays in a Proenza Schouler T-shirt under a yellow-and-red DSquared jacket, which she paired with cut-off denim shorts and $1,050 Fendi sandals.
She completed the look with Fendi sunglasses, gold hoop earrings, gold chain necklaces and a $2,800 Louis Vuitton Monet tote.

This is what happens when you combine Breaking Bad, Kids, and a mushroom trip into one Lynchian trailer-park-themed short film. Fashion house Proenza Schouler roped weirdo film director Harmony Korine into directing a short film, Snowballs, featuring garments from their Fall 2011 line. Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, designers for the house, apparently took a trip through the American Southwest and were "inspired by Navajo textiles." (They say that like that's some sort of unique influence. Have I not seen garments "inspired by Navajo textiles" every time I've left the house for the past two years?) Anyway, the video features some models in latex masks and Native American headdresses dancing around in a backyard that sort of looks like a place people would go to do meth. Then they have a birthday party with an asthmatic, shirtless man — a scene that's pretty clearly [...]...

The guests wore white – and Gwyneth Paltrow was no exception. When Beyoncé Knowles wed longtime boyfriend Jay-z in New York City April 4, good pal Paltrow donned a bone silk gazar minidress with full sleeves, which she borrowed from top designer Proenza Schouler. "It was arranged last minute," a rep for the designer tells People, adding that the frock was a sample from the fall/winter 2008 collection and is not yet in stores. Did the 35-year-old actress mention that she'd be wearing it to the top-secret nuptials (which have not yet been confirmed by the couple, although Knowles has been spotted wearing a ring)? "No,...

'Project Runway's' Tim Gunn talks about Christian's win, 'Pr's' sourpuss and Tim's own 'diva moment'
Twelve hours after "Project Runway's" fourth season wrapped up, I was on the phone with Tim Gunn, the mentor of the aspiring designers on the Bravo reality show. We talked about Christian Siriano’s win and the collections of the other finalists.
Tim also talked about Season 5 of "Project Runway," whether his own show, "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," is coming back, and he told a jaw-dropping story about what contestant Victorya Hong made him do in Mood Fabrics.
That story left me gasping -- but then he told a better one about his "diva moment" on the set of "Guide to Style." Settle in with a cup of coffee, "Runway" fans -- Tim Gunn's got hot, fresh gossip for you!
[By the way, my comments are in bold, Gunn's are in regular type.]
Tim Gunn: “What a season, huh?"
Mr: Definitely. I was blown away by the final collections.
Tg: “It was a staggering, staggering season. You know something,...

Lohan Plans French Boutique?
Lindsay Lohan is so smitten with fashion she's considering opening her own Paris, France boutique. The actress/singer, whose love for the latest styles led to her changing three times during the Oscars ceremony in March, admits she wants to fill a high-end store with top designer clothing - just so she can be a part of the business. She tells fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, "I'd only do it (start her own store) if Karl Lagerfeld was interested or Tom Ford. Or Alexander McQueen. Or Jean Paul Gaultier. Or Proenza Schouler." Lagerfeld obviously is interested in Lohan - he recently shot her for a spread in America's Interview magazine. And the actress recently offered to work at a Chanel store, selling Lagerfeld's clothing. But she admits there's just too much fashion out there that interests her to work with just one designer. She adds, "Yves Saint Laurent's collection is genius for fall. Balenciaga is amazing. And I love Rick Owens and Alessandro Dell'acqua and Giambattista Valli and Roland Mouret." Lohan accepts that opening a store would save her a lot of money: "I often style myself and my friends. I could go bankrupt from buying all these clothes. (If I open a store) I can sell my own clothes."...
