After spending his collegiate career at Villanova University and winning a national championship, Josh Hart was selected in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. He was traded on draft night to the Los Angeles Lakers and played for that team until 2019 when he was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron James is continuing to expand his presence on social video platforms. The four-time Mvp is the co-host of Mind the Game, a podcast that has drawn a large audience since its arrival on YouTube on March 19.
Mind the Game features the basketball-related musings of King James and retired sharpshooter J.J. Redick. In the first episode of their show, the two hardcourt vets discuss the recipe for a success basketball player. That open-ended question leads into a wide-ranging conversation that covers numerous NBA topics, including the current fate of James’ Los Angeles Lakers.
James is arguably the most famous athlete in the world, so it’s not surprising that the first episode of his new podcast drew 1.3 million views in a single day and brought 227,000 subscribers to Mind The Game‘s home channel. Cut-down clips from the episode are also bringing in traffic across YouTube’s long-form and short-form formats.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is getting into the podcast game, partnering with former NBA star JJ Redick on a new project, Mind the Game.
Unusually for a sports podcast hosted by bona fide stars, Mind the Game does not have any advertisers as of now, nor does it have a media or distribution partner. Episodes will be available weekly on YouTube and all other podcast platforms, beginning at 7 a.m. eastern Tuesday. The podcast will be produced by James’ Uninterrupted and Redick’s ThreeFourTwo Productions.
A source says that James and Redick initially hit it off during the NBA in-season tournament, and shared a wish that there be a podcast for fans focused on what was happening on the court, without third-parties shaping the editorial direction in any way. The podcast is said to be free-flowing, and there are already plans in place to tape episode two. The...

By 2018, Will Compton, a 28-year-old backup linebacker on a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, knew his playing days were numbered. Contemplating a career after football, he considered going into real estate or coaching but couldn’t muster much enthusiasm for either. Driving home after a game one evening, he called Taylor Lewan, an offensive tackle for the Titans and his closest friend on the team, with whom he’d just done a postgame segment on Titans Radio. The two, who had bonded over their fondness for podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience, had undeniable chemistry on the air, and the experience got them thinking about starting their own podcast. For Lewan, who had just signed a six-year deal with the Titans, it sounded like a fun time. For Compton, it was a go-for-broke career plan. The following year, they launched Bussin’ With the Boys.

A judge has granted Bill Simmons, along with the staff of his sports and pop culture-centered outlet The Ringer, a restraining order against a former employee of the company, Variety has confirmed.
According to The Blast, Joseph Fuentes, a former digital audio director, had the restraining order brought against him for making “credible threats of violence” towards Simmons. Documents show that Fuentes was fired on April 25 after there were technical issues with The Ringer’s podcast, particularly on a recent episode featuring Jeff Goldblum.
After his termination, he returned to the Los Angeles studio several times, leading Simmons, the former HBO and ESPN sports personality, to eventually email Fuentes, asking him to stop contacting Ringer employees. “If you want to have an honest conversation about whatever is going on with you right now, I’m happy to do so — we’ve known each other for 7 years and it’s hard...
