Maria Bello and Frank Grillo star in this first trailer for Demonic. Produced by James Wan (The Conjuring) and directed by Will Canon (Brotherhood), the clip shows several ghost hunters and a haunted home. They are attacked and some do not escape this cursed home. Full of terror, the first trailer for the film is hosted here. As well, Demonic also stars Cody Horn, Dustin Milligan and Megan Risk. This horror title will be released later in 2015. The film's story begins after a mysterious set of murders. The sole survivor acts suspiciously as detectives try to find out what happened to the victims. The trail to the truth is littered with more bodies and few will exit this haunted home. The film uses multiple shooting styles. Partly shot via found footage, the director also utilized conventional shooting styles. Fans of film can preview Demonic below. Release Date: 2015. Director: Will Canon.

There was supposed to be a James Wan produced horror film called Demonic hitting theaters last year, but The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films pulled the release meant for late 2014 for some reason. There's no indication of when exactly the film might arrive now, but the first trailer for the haunted house horror flick starring Frank Grillo and Maria Bello has arrived. Honestly, even though this film was shelved, it doesn't look half bad. And by the way, that house looks eerily similar to the house used as the main setting in The Conjuring, which Wan directed. Coincidence? Or maybe just similar houses? Watch! Here's the first trailer for Will Canon's Demonic from FilmIsto Trailers (via Collider): Demonic is directed by Will Canon from a script he wrote with Doug Simon and Max La Bella. A police officer (Frank Grillo) and a psychologist (Maria Bello) investigate the deaths...

“There are a lot of theories about how to open these gates between our world and the underworld. The trick is finding them. Everybody join hands.” Ghost hunters want to hear from the dead, but what if a haunted house responded very violently? Previously known as House of Horror, we’ve been tracking the James Wan-produced Demonic since early 2011, and now the movie about ghost-seeking gone wrong has received its first trailer.
From James Wan, Demonic was directed by Will Canon (Brotherhood) and filmed in Baton Rouge. The script was written by Max La Bella and is based on an original idea from Wan:

Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein, question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters,...

In my humble opinion, I think James Wan is the master of horror when it comes to movies. They guy knows how to make them right and just scare the shit out of audiences. He has produced a new film that was made under the title House of Horror, it was then changed to Untitled James Wan Thriller, and now according to Desde Hollywood the film is now being called Demonic, and that title has been confirmed by Styd.
The movie was directed by Will Canon from a script written by Max La Bella, and here's the synopsis:

Hey, wait a second. Didn't James Wan say that he was done making horror films and Insidious: Chapter 2 was going to be his last? Well, that still appears to be the plan. But we'll be seeing his name attached to at least one more horror flick headed our way next year.
There's been a project listed on Wan's IMDb page for a while now that bears the title (or lack thereof) "Untitled James Wan Thriller," aka House of Horror, and the website Desde Hollywood broke the news today that the movie has finally been given a proper name. Currently in post-production, the film will be called Demonic, and you can expect to find the words "James Wan Presents" attached to that title.

We’ve been talking about James Wan’s House of Horror since early 2011, but the movie has finished filming and is now titled Demonic. Produced by James Wan, Demonic was directed by Will Canon (Brotherhood) and filmed in Baton Rouge earlier this year. The script was written by Max La Bella and is based on an original idea from James Wan:
“The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein, question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants, but with the house itself.

No matter how busy horror dynamo James Wan appears to be, his name just can’t stay out of headlines. Variety reports Wan came up with the premise and will produce the film penned by Max La Bella; Will Canon, helmer of the 2010 crime-thriller Brotherhood, is set to direct. The Dimension Films production will star Maria Bello and Frank Grillo as a psychologist and a policeman, respectively, who team up to interrogate the sole survivor of a ghost-hunting expedition that ended with five people dead. Bello has appeared in a wide range of films, from the dark comedy...

It’s been a few years since Mario Bello did a true horror movie – and yes, we’re including Grown Ups – but it appears she’s ready to dive into some supernatural chills once more. She’s signed on to a new, James Wan-produced thriller alongside The Grey’s Frank Grillo. The film – which was called House Of Horror, but is currently making its way through pre-production without a final title – will see a psychologist (Bello, we assume, since she’s credited as Dr Elizabeth Klein) and a cop (Grillo) interrogate the lone survivor of a ghost hunting expedition that went horribly wrong. While the normal result of such trips is a bunch of overly dramatic people getting scared by “ghostly” noises on a tape recorder or flickering dials on a temperature gauge, this one ended with five people dead and a real mystery to solve.Wan, who is...

Variety reports that Frank Grillo and Maria Bello have signed on to star in the unmonikered supernatural thriller (previously titled House Of Horror) that Wan and Lee Clay will produce for Dimension Films. Will Canon directs from a script by Max La Bella, based on a story by Wan about a policeman and psychiatrist investigating the sole survivor of a ghost-hunting expedition in which the other five members met their deaths. Grillo made a memorable impression in last year’s The Grey (pictured above) and co-starred in the new Mother’S Day; Bello won a number of critics’ awards for David Cronenberg’s A History Of Violence and has appeared in Secret Window, 2005’s The Dark and The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.

The film will be presented and produced by Wan whilst director Will Canon is expected to helm. Canon will begin shooting in January 2013 in La from a script written by Max La Bella which was based on an original idea by Wan himself. Bello (below) will play psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein....

Actress Maria Bello has signed on to star in the upcoming, untitled James Wan thriller. One can only hope it's not the MacGyver movie. (I know, it's not.)
Wan is producing the thriller, directed by Will Canon (Brotherhood) and written by Max La Bella (Children's Hospital) based off an idea from Wan.
In the haunted house gone bad story (really, haunted houses very rarely end up good) Bello plays a police psychologist who arrives at the murder scene of five college students whose night ghost hunting in an old house goes horribly, horribly wrong. The lone survivor says the house itself is responsible for the bloodbath. Sounds reasonable to me.
Bello's long list of credits include roles in A History of Violence, Assault on Precinct 13, and Downloading Nancy. Production is set to begin in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in January. ...

We’ve been periodically posting updates on James Wan’s House of Horror since early 2011, but it looks like the project is ready to move forward (possibly with a new title). It was revealed that Maria Bello was circling the lead role in the film this April, but Dimension Films has just announced that she has officially been cast. We also have confirmation on the director, a shooting date, and an updated synopsis:
“Dimension Films announced today that Golden Globe nominated Maria Bello (A History Of Violence, The Cooler) has been cast as the lead female in The Untitled ‘James Wan Presents’ Thriller. James Wan, who co-created the highly successful Saw and Insidious franchises, will produce the film along with Lee Clay (Beautiful Boy). So, I guess we all hate when we get something like this – an untitled movie, an untitled thriller, unknown this, unknown that… But hey, the good thing about this (still) untitled movie is that a seriously good team is on board. First of all, we have Will Canon as a director, then we have James Wan as a producer, and now we even have great Maria Bello (yeah, she’s that girl from The Cooler) set to star in the whole thing! Sounds good, or what?
Ok, not much is known about this mysterious project at this moment. We only know that it will take place after the massacre of five college students in an abandoned house.
Investigators will then have to trace the murders ’cause what began as an innocent ghost-hunting activity obviously turned into a terrifying escapade involving the house itself.
Sounds like an easy job for Wan,...

I participated in a Dreamago panel moderated by WGA-West VP and USC film writing prof and an artistic director at the Sundance Institute Wrting Labs, Howard Rodman.
Other panelists included Vince Fischer who, having been educated and working in Paris, Montreal, New York in business and advertising, event production, and creating the endorsement agency GlamCom which initiates deals between celebrities and products, such as he did with George Clooney and Nespresso, has gone on to create Artistic Alliance Eci which represents screenwriters, directors and actors with offices in Beijing, L.a. and Paris, to match people and projects abroad. Daniel Hsia, the writer/ director of Shanghai Calling, (Isa: Aldamisa) a U.S. - China co-production distributed in China by China Film Group and in So. Korea by Sookie and due to be released in Norht America in 2013 works with Janet Yang and is eager to do more co-productions in China though he admits to difficulties with censors, etc. You can see the trailer of Shanghai Calling here.

He is curretnly developing an original miniseries for HBO for the Russian Market and a crime drama for Sreda in Moscow.
Paula Manzanedo-Schmitt is VP of Film Finances Inc. the world leader in completion guarantees. She has been involved in more than 1,000 films and TV programs internationally and in U.S. She spoke of the various cross-cultural requisites in film production abroad.
The discussion centered around whether filmmakers could make a film without the notorioius interference of studios (they should all be so lucky as to have this problem). In other words, the panelists discussed their experiences making films with Russians and Chinese. All agreed that working abroad, and especially with international sales agents who also produce allows for greater freedom of vision (although in China the reward is writng so that China censorship does not interfere because one has written to their specifications). All agreed also that there is a certain cross-cultural divide one must discover in order to work effectively.
My suggestions for finding a way to create without corporate interferences are listed below:
** Coproduce with Canada who has the most coproduction treaties in the world, or go directly to producers or sales agents who do not rely on treaties.
** Work with international sales agents who produce international coproductions which include U.S., or with the producers of those films who now have established track records.

Hungaricom Ltd (Hungary) has the English language animated comedy feature The Secret of Moonacre and Immigrants - L.A. Dolce Vita both produced by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Gabor Kalomista, a Los Angeles based company with Hungarian born principals. The synopsis of Immigrants is worth repeating: More people immigrate to America than to all other countries in the whole world combined. Why? Is it because they love hot dogs and hamburgers? Or because they want to meet Snoop Dogg or have a close encounter with Pamela Anderson? Maybe. But the real reason is – immigrants go to the U.S. to chase the American dream. Immigrants is the story of Vladislav (a Russian), and Joska (a Hungarian). Both are immigrants and best friends, living and chasing the American dream together. Vlad has a daughter, Ana, who’s adapting to life in America at the speed of light, while her dad is in complete culture shock. They stay at the Vista del Mar, an apartment complex run by an old failed actress, Greta Knight, who is always after Vlad for sexual favors. The building is home to immigrants from all over the world: Flaco, a friend from Mexico; Mr. Chea, who runs a Chinese family restaurant; Nazim, a former Pakistani nuclear scientist who drives a tour bus; and Mr. Splits, an old black pimp. We follow Vlad and Joska in their adventures… through their encounter with the American capitalist company Glut-co, through their attempt to open a Russian/Hungarian restaurant, and as their friendship is put in jeopardy when they hit the L.A. night scene. All the while Vlad is looking for a way to make a life for himself and his daughter; and Joska… well, Joska is mainly looking for women.

If Niel Landau's adventures in Russia appeal to you, but you don't have the connections there, visit Rosskino and the L.A. based Eleonora Granata Russian Film Commissioner or produce in Russia through international sales agents which were founded by Russian-Americans who know both cultures such as Aldamisa (where longtime Disney acquisitons VP Jere Hausfater is now looking for projects), 108 Media who has Myn Bala the Kazahkistan submission for Best Foreign Language Academy Award nomination is Canadian owned, or Red Sea, all of whom are Russian – American and/ or Canadian owned.

It has already presold to Front Row for the Middle East.

The (d)evil made him do it! Good old blame somebody else thing. Never mind, I think that House Of Horror is definitely worth your full attention, so I’m here to share the first photo from the whole thing. As you’re going to see – this looks really spooky. But hey, the movie plot includes a horrific massacre, amateur ghost-hunters & usual paranormal stuff, so it’s quite logical.
Just in case you’re not so familiar with this horror thriller, I will first inform you that it has an awesome team on board. Which basically means – Insidious helmer James Wan is on board to produce it, the script comes from Max La Bella, and Will Canon is directing the movie which centers around a gruesome crime scene.
Unfortunately, at this moment the only thing we know is that the movie is currently in pre-production, there’s still nothing about...
