As Fire Country has shown, living in a small town means everyone knows your name, and what better way to show that than to expand Edgewater? That’s what the CBS drama is doing with a new character being introduced midway through Season 2, Sheriff Mickey (Morena Baccarin), who could lead a spinoff. Mickey will be introduced in Episode 6, directed by series star, co-creator, and executive producer Max Thieriot, who told TV Insider she’s “really fun” and “exciting.” In the episode, the sheriff’s office will interact with Three Rock (the fire camp for inmates) and Station 42. “It’s such a natural kind of intersection of those worlds, and it’s really fun to get to know somebody at the sheriff’s office and to see the interaction of agencies,” executive producer Joan Rater says. “Morena’s amazing. We’re just so excited to explore that world.” “And also just to expand Edgewater,...

While the entire world was fighting a pandemic back in 2020, Gerard Butler came out with an apocalyptic thriller, Greenland, directed by Ric Roman Waugh. Even though the movie did not do too well at the box office, it received generally positive reviews from both fans and critics thanks to the exhilarating and emotional journey of the Garrity family.

In 2020, audiences would watch a global disaster unfold in front of their eyes, and ironically, that year would also bring us the disaster movie Greenland. Ric Roman Waugh’s thriller starred Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin and follows a family’s struggle to get to emergency proceedings as they’re selected for shelter from the impending doom of a comet hurling toward our planet. Unlike most disaster films, this story was told from the perspective of everyday citizens simply trying to evade the crazy panic of the population in order to seek refuge. Talks of a sequel have been going on for a while and Deadline now reports that Greenland: Migration is set to film this April with the cast returning along with Ric Roman Waugh and screenwriter Chris Sparling. Sparling co-writes this entry with Mitchell Lafortune. The plot, according to Deadline, reads, “The Garrity family must leave the safety...

Gerard Butler’s long-awaited “Greenland” sequel is finally set to go into production in April, Variety can confirm.
The disaster film, titled “Greenland: Migration,” will see Butler reunite with director Ric Roman Waugh and “Greenland” writer Chris Sparling. “Deadpool” star Morena Baccarin will also return for the sequel.
Sparling has co-written “Greenland: Migration” alongside Mitchell Lafortune.
In “Greenland,” Butler starred as John Garrity, a structural engineer who attempts to flee Atlanta along with his wife Allison (played by Baccarin) and diabetic son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) after a comet threatens to destroy the planet. After John, Allison and Nathan are separated, the family struggles to reunite while fragments of the comet rain down on earth, threatening an extinction-level event.
In the sequel, which is set after the comet has decimated earth, the Garrity family are forced to embark on a perilous journey across what’s left of Europe to find a new home.

Anonymous Content and Spain’s Morena Films, behind box office breakouts “Cell 211” and Champions, have named former Studiocanal executive Beatriz Campos as the managing director of their Spain-based film-tv production venture Anonymous Content España.
Campos will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations working closely with David Davoli, Anonymous Content’s president of international, and Morena Films CEO Pilar Benito, Anonymous Content and Morena Films announced Monday. Launched in May 2023, Anonymous Content España aims to develop and produce premium Spanish projects for a global market.
That is easily said, but several factors work in its favor and will be aided now by Campos’ appointment. As film and TV producers still battle a hugely competitive market and spiralling production costs, companies are reaching out for partners beyond national markets, a structure embodied in Anonymous Content España. Anonymous can also help Morena access U.S.-stars, which may allow their productions to stand out in the crowd.

“Championext”(“Campeonex”), the anticipated follow-up to Javier Fesser’s Spanish comedy triumph “Champions” (“Campeones”) which scooped Forqué, Goya, and Feroz awards for best picture and delighted audiences to the tune of a stellar €18.5 million (21.4 million) box office grab, has been acquired for international sales by Latido Films (“The Beasts”).
Written by Fesser (“Camino”) and Athenea Mata (“El Secreto de Lilith”) in collaboration with David Marqués, the film follows nearly the same cast of beloved characters two years after they’ve left the fierce competition behind. A Los Amigos reunion will see “the landscape move from the world of basketball to the world of athletics for people with disabilities while making room to explore the fascinating world of metaverses and virtual reality,” Fesser revealed in a statement.
Delving further into the world of its protagonists, the film allows for a broader reveal while cementing the feel-good sentiment and relatability that brought the original high-acclaim.

Rosario (Argentina), Dec 26 (Ians) The house at 525 Estado de Israel street in La Bajada, Rosario, in Santa Fe province – an area of hard-working, humble people — is where Argentine football star Lionel Messi started, and it has become a pilgrimage site for many fans.
The house is getting more footfalls since the iconic player led Argentina to their third FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar a few days back.

So many aspects of a film can change on its journey from page to screen and you never know what's going to wind up on the cutting room floor. Despite there being multiple versions of "Deadpool 2," Morena Baccarin's most intense scene didn't make it into any of them. The actress portrayed Wade Wilson's fiancée Vanessa Carlysle in both Deadpool movies, though the character was killed early on in the sequel. Fans initially feared Vanessa had been fridged, but she was resurrected by movie's end thanks to some time travel shenanigans.
Best known for her work in series such as "Firefly" and "Homeland," Baccarin was disappointed in her lack of screen time, but still felt strongly that Vanessa played a pivotal role in the film, which she certainly did. As it turns out, the actress originally had a bit more to do, but that hard work wasn't shown in "Deadpool 2.
