- Laz is a former boxer. He began to train at age 14 and eventually worked his way into the Olympic circuit for 2004. He stopped training and decided to get a degree in film production.

- Soon after graduating from film school, Laz received an unexpected call from Michael Winslow of Police Academy (1984) fame. Lazaro, who as a child used to imitate Winslow's sound effects, started out as a camera operator for Michael's comedy show. Within 6 months, Laz helped develop an outstanding stage show with Michael where Laz operated the sounds, lights, and other components that enhanced the act. Laz was then named Michael's tour manager as he handled the technical aspect of the show and the merchandising involved as well for the following couple of years. Together, Michael and Laz were the self-proclaimed "Dynamic Duo of Noisology".

- Lazaro and wife, Vanessa welcomed baby boy, Maddox Makhai Trejo on December 7, 2012.
- Laz inspired and provided early training in boxing to his brother-in-law, Niko "Baby Face" Valdez. Niko was subsequently signed to Oscar De la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
- Lazaro was a Motion Graphics Artist at the Zimmerman Advertising Agency in South Florida where he worked on several national commercial campaigns for clients such as Nissan, Firehouse Subs, AutoNation, and many more. He was awarded the Mentor of the Year Award in 2013 and again in 2014 during his time at Zimmerman.
