In 1971, George Harrison became involved in a lengthy lawsuit that cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars. The suit accused the former Beatle of plagiarizing a song by The Chiffons when making “My Sweet Lord”. While the lawsuit cost George Harrison a lot of money, he still got a song out of it that made fun of the whole situation.

“My Sweet Lord” is one of the biggest hits from Harrison’s solo career. The track was released in 1970’s All Things Must Pass and was also released as a single, peaking at No. 1 on the charts in the U.S. and U.K. Since it was so popular, many noticed the song’s similarity to a 1963 song by The Chiffons titled “He’s So Fine”.

The Beatles are the most covered bands of all time. Even in the 1960s, bands and artists were already taking songs from The Beatles and putting their own spin on them. While the members of The Beatles didn’t love every cover, they did receive royalties, so they were mostly okay with them. However, George Harrison called one Beatles song cover “rubbish” and didn’t want to be associated with it.

George Harrison didn’t write many Beatles songs, as Paul McCartney and John Lennon shared most songwriting duties. However, Harrison did get a chance to shine every now and then, and his songs appeared more frequently in The Beatles’ later projects. His song, “If I Needed Someone”, was released in 1966 with Rubber Soul. It’s a love song Harrison dedicated to his then-wife,...

Paul McCartney‘s “Nothing Too Much Just Out of Sight” has something in common with The Beatles‘ “Ob-la-Di, Ob-la-Da.” The same person gave the singer-songwriter both of the tunes’ names.
Paul McCartney | Dave Hogan/Getty Images A friend gave Paul the name The Beatles’ ‘Ob-la-Di, Ob-la-Da’
In his book The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present, Paul wrote that he used to meet his Nigerian friend, Jimmy Scott, in London clubs in the 1960s. Scott was a conga player who worked with Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones.
Around the time that he became friends with Paul, Scott had a band called the Ob-la-di Ob-la-da Band. According to All Music, the name came from a Yoruba phrase that Scott often used, “ob-la-di ob-la-da,” which translates to “life goes on.”

Choosing George Harrison‘s best collaborations isn’t easy because there are so many. However, for this list, we kept it to the collaborations that happened in the recording studio only, whether they were on one of George’s tracks or another artist’s. Here are 10 of George’s best collaborations.
George Harrison and Eric Clapton | Dave Hogan/Getty Images 10. ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’
George used Chinese philosophy to write The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” In his 1980 memoir, I Me Mine, he explained that he read that everything is relative to everything else in I Ching, the Chinese classic Book of Changes. So, he used it to write a song. He randomly opened a book and saw the words “gently weeps,” and the tune was born. It’s one of George’s best collaborations because he asked Eric Clapton to perform on it. The guitarist was hesitant...

Christina Aguilera is opening up about the later start to her sex life amid her sexualized persona in her early ’20s.
The 42-year-old pop star appeared on Wednesday’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast where she revealed that despite her “Dirrty” and Stripped years, she didn’t actually lose her virginity until later in life.
“It’s so funny that I gave this persona because I probably was the last person to lose my virginity,” the mother of two shared. “It was something that was for me. I guess that’s why my messages went the way they did too because I owned it first, maybe.”
When podcast host Alex Cooper specifically asked Aguilera when she lost her virginity, the chart topper kept her answer vague, noting, “It was later than you would think, given the girl that was doing ‘Dirrty’ and all this stuff. It’s more of a funny thing looking back.

George Harrison knew his former bandmate Ringo Starr would want to play on his 1987 album Cloud Nine before he even told the drummer about it. Actually, George didn’t leave room for discussion: Ringo would play on it no matter what.

After releasing 1982’s Gone Troppo, George stopped releasing music for a few years. The music industry had gotten too serious for him, and he craved to work with someone who understood him. So, George backed off. He recorded demos and worked with his film production company, HandMade Films.
Then, in 1986, George met Elo frontman Jeff Lynne and instantly knew he wanted to work with the producer on a new album. During a 1986 interview on Australian TV, George said that he’d decided to make a new album...

George Harrison loved talking to people and revealed that it took a long time for anyone to bore him. The former Beatle enjoyed hearing people’s stories and perspectives, especially if they had interesting opinions about religion.

In a November 1964 issue of The Beatles Book Monthly (per Beatles Interviews), George interviewed himself. He asked the questions he thought reporters missed, including if he made friends easily.
George replied that he was “extremely” interested in people. “I think I make an easy target for folk who like to talk about themselves,” he added. “It takes a long time for them to bore me because I enjoy listening to new ideas and different opinions. That’s what life is for– to find out fresh things and learn new facts.”

Rupert Grint, the actor who portrayed Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, recently confirmed an infamous rumor. He revealed that he had once skipped out on writing an essay for the director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. And pointing to his character’s lack of interest in school work, Grint joked that it was a “Ron thing to do.”
Why Alfonso Cuarón assigned essays to the ‘Harry Potter’ cast
The first two Harry Potter movies, which were directed by Chris Columbus, introduced audiences to Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), and Ron Weasley as young sprouts just beginning their wizarding world journey. But for the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Alfonso Cuarón was brought on as director. His challenge was to bring the characters into their teens, but also to have the film’s tone reflect the depth and stakes of their experiences.

Season two of "Euphoria" is even more intense and unsettling than the first season, if you can believe it. And it has a soundtrack to match. Labrinth, the brilliant composer behind popular songs "Still Don't Know My Name" and "All For Us" from season one, is back again for season two. The singer-songwriter elevates the intensity of the show with a score that tugs on your heart and makes you feel the heaviness of the subject matter in each episode, and the latest episode is no different.
During a powerful scene highlighting the spiraling nature of Rue's substance abuse, Labrinth is seen singing his newest song composed for "Euphoria" in a church full of people, and fans (including myself) have since been eager to listen to the song on repeat. It's just that good.
What Happened in "Euphoria" Season 2, Episode 4, and What Song Was Labrinth Singing at the End?
