The National Association Of Theatre Owners (Nato) will present Harkins Theatres owner and CEO Dan Harkins with the 2014 Nato Marquee Award at CinemaCon on March 25.
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas convention said Harkins was being recognised for his “unequalled dedication, commitment and service to the motion picture theatre industry.”
“As both a leader and innovator in the theater industry and his local community, Dan Harkins has blazed a passionate trail for others to follow,” said CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser.
“His enthusiasm and dedication to enhancing the movie-going experience for audiences across the Southwest is highly regarded throughout the motion picture theatre industry.”
CinemaCon is set to run from March 24-27.

The National Association of Theatre Owners has elected Cinemark USA CEO Lee Roy Mitchell as its next chairman of its board of directors. Elected unanimously at NATO's board meeting last week, Mitchell will begin a two-year term Jan. 1, and succeeds outgoing NATO chairman Phil Harris. The NATO board also elected as its new vice chairman Peter C. Brown, chairman and CEO of Kansas City, Mo.-based AMC Entertainment Inc. Mark O'Meara, owner-operator of Fairfax, Va.-based University Mall Theatres, was elected to a second term as NATO's board secretary; Dan Harkins, CEO of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Harkins Theatres, was elected the association's new treasurer.
