Orlando, Fla, March 4 (Ians) Indian-American golfer Sahith Theegala moved up 30 places at the midway stage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Theegala, who reached right up to the Tour Championship, but is still looking for his first individual win on the PGA Tour, shot 72 in the first round added 70 in the second to be 2-under and tied 20th.
Theegala was tied 20th alongside the likes of Rory McIlroy (73-69), Tom Kim (72-70), Shane Lowry (72-70) and Tony Finau (70-72).
Kurt Kitayama (67-68) chasing his first PGA Tour victory, Kitayama was at 9-under 135 and he faced the challenge from Jordan Spieth (68-69).
Jon Rahm, the first round leader by two shots, had a rough round for the first time this year. His last five holes had a double bogey, three bogeys and a birdie and he shot 76, his highest card since the 76 he had in the third round of the PGA Championship last May.

Dubai, Jan 25 (Ians) Shubhankar Sharma will be the lone Indian in the star-studded field as he gets ready to build on the fine start to his year.
Sharma, 29th in the Dp World Tour rankings in 2022, was tied seventh last week in Abu Dhabi Hsbc Championship, and is now hoping to get a good result in Dubai, where he has never finished in Top-10 in five previous starts.
“I need to set the record right,” said Sharma. “I am feeling comfortable. I was here in Dubai before coming to Abu Dhabi and practiced here. This is a great place and I have a lot of Indian supporters.”

Abu Dhabi, Jan 15 (Ians) Starting the day with a two-point lead, Continental Europe, led by skipper Francesco Molinari, overcame Great Britain and Ireland 14½ — 10½ in the inaugural Hero Cup. Molinari’s team picked six points from Sunday’s singles session at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Continental Europe, who led by one point on the first day, extended it to two by the end of the second day and finally finished four points clear.

Abu Dhabi, Jan 14 (Ians) Francesco Molinari, at 40, a three-time member of winning Ryder Cup teams, gave his young teammate, Nicolai Hojgaard, 21, a first-hand exhibition of team play as they won both their matches on the second day of the Hero Cup.
Combined with the half point they got from the first day, they stay unbeaten after two days two and a half points out of three.
The morning session was tied with both teams taking two and a half points each and in the afternoon it was still even till Robert MacIntyre, who had so far not lost a match, and Seamus Power lost 2&1 against the French-Italian pairing of Victor Perez and Guido Migliozzi.
That gave Continental Europe a 3-2 win in the session and took the total score to eight and a half against the six and a half points for Gb & I with 10 singles coming up on Sunday.

The duo, who forged an exceptional partnership at Le Golf National in 2018 in contributing four points from four towards Team Europe’s triumph in the Ryder Cup, will compete as playing captains this week as they go head-to-head by leading two teams which each contain an exciting mix of Major Champions, proven winners and some of the most promising young players in golf.
