- Prominent Jamaican sociologist, dancer and choreographer. Considered by many to be "Jamaica's Cultural Ambassador" to the world.
- Died one day short of his 77th birthday.
- Co-founder of the National Dance Theater Company in Jamaica in 1962 and led the organization for almost 50 years.
- He is survived by his sister, Daphne May Wylie.
